I buy a new masca every other month cuz I wear contacts and know that bacteria tend to grow on the brush. It's def worth the extra few bucks. A lengthener, definer and volumizer all in one!
Price: $10.07 CAD (London Drugs)
Pkg: fat bristly brush
Length: impressive
Volume: buildable
It gives me quite a lot of volume from the very first coat. Length and volume is easy to build, altho I recommend piling on the coats after each coat dries
Too bad there's no waterproof version since it doesn't hold a curl super well

I got this for free in a sample bag so I can't really comment on price. I put two for price because in Australia because Prestige is a little overpriced here. I have dark eyelashes but was impressed with the depth of color this gave me. My eyelashes are a decent length but this separated them quite nicely and made them look well defined. The best thing about it is the total lack of flaking. I've even slept in it (naughty naughty) and woken up with it still in place. I may rebuy online at a good price but it's not a HG. Worth trying if you can get it at a good price

I am a huge fan of Prestige My Biggest Lashes and had noticed that this gets a lot of raves too, so I decided to give it a try.
As other reviewers noted, the formula does seem to change after a couple uses. At first, the formula was not as black as I was expecting, but still quite dark and gave good volume without clumps. I had to layer it on a bit but it didn't clump, flake or smudge and had a pretty, dark, clean look.
A couple of uses later, the formula became "thicker" I guess you could say, and now goes on very messy/clumpy. At the same time it looks much darker. If you don't have a lash comb, you better get one at the same time you get this, because you will need it. It really glops on, and then you have to work with it.
The brush is really good and picks up all the lashes. This mascara doesn't do much for length; it's primarily a shade density mascara with a bit of volume, that holds a curl OK.
I like it, but I also am not sure it is worth the work. I will probably stick with My Biggest Lashes.

I am very impressed by this mascara. I have sensitive eyes, and this does not flake on me. I can't even feel it on, which is great. It definitely adds definition and lasts throughout the day. And it has intense pigmentation. It's nice to hear a name of a product and not be let down, because this really does give me 'my blackest lashes'. The only downside? Why isn't this product getting more buzz and publicity? It beats mascaras like Covergirl's Lash Blast out of the water for me.

my favorite drugstore mascara. it is excellent at volumizing, it doesnt flake, it is pitch black in color. the only thing i will complain about is it is a bit prone to clumping a bit but it is much better than loreal voluminous (which clumps like crazy!) i highly recommend this mascara.

I was really skeptical regarding this marcara but after reading all the reviews and the fact that I have yet to find a Mascara that really blows me away, Id figure I would give this a shot. Besides its only like $7.
All in all i really like this mascara, it has a good consistency; not to runny or dry, good size wand and the pigmentation is some of the darkest i have experianced ( def more black than dior blackout and loreal carbon black) and i have black hair so for any marcara to stand out it literally has to be JET BLACK . The formula does tend to clump a bit, but i actually like a little clumping since it make my lashes look thicker. I for sure will repurchase. I think it might actually beat out my beloved Rimmel sexy curves

Woah – My Blackest Lashes is EXTREME!!
My lashes are difficult – finding a good mascara for an extreme effect is difficult. Everything clumps on me, from drugstore to high end.
My Blackest Lashes, to date, is the best ‘extreme’ mascara I have tried.
But I must warn you – this mascara requires a lot of work to look good. As other reviewers have said, you can’t just swipe and go with this one.
I only use this for special occasions, and where I have time to invest in the application process.
I start off my making sure my lashes have been very lightly dusted off with a little loose powder. I then comb my lashes with my Tweezerman lash comb before application, to separate all my lashes prior to application and make sure they are already sitting in place. I then slowly and thoroughly apply one coat, starting with the inner lashes – applying gently there – and applying with a little more intensity as I move outward towards the outer corner lashes. I then really get into the roots/base in the outer corner and gently swipe out. I then very carefully go back with my Tweezerman lash comb, and carefully separate my lashes, fanning them out a little at the outer corners.
You need to be careful – anymore than one decent coat, and you will get nasty clumps that even the Tweezerman comb won’t get out for you. It dries quickly too, so even though you need to be thorough and careful, you still need to work within the drying time.
But the result is oh so worth it.
You will end up with deep black, almost glossy lashes, that are voluminous, long, and perfectly fanned out.
As for the negative – the tube doesn’t have one of those stopper things in the opening to remove excess mascara – so you need to be mindful of how much mascara is on the brush. The mascara is a ‘wet’ formula, and although it doesn’t seem to dry out quickly, it does seem to thicken up after a few weeks but not uniformly – it becomes slightly claggy, in my opinion.
The price here in Australia is insane - $20, compared to about $6USD. I am trying to find a cheaper way to get ahold of Prestige mascaras.
I will continue to purchase this mascara, unless I get lucky and find something even better again!

I think I've found my HG mascara. This stuff is amazing! I usually use either L'Oreal Voluminous or for a splurge Lancome Definicils. This is just as good, if not better, than those. Makes my lashes inky black but does NOT clump. And if one has the time and applies it like Lisa Eldridge (my guru!) instructs--"massaging" it close to the lashline--it almost makes you look as though you have eyeliner on. Will DEFINITELY be repurchasing.

This is a really good mascara. It doesn't give the greatest volume, but it is so black that you don't really need the volume for your lashes to look great!

My HG mascara is Cover Girls Lash Blast, but I like to try other stuff once and while. I heard alot of hype about this mascara from a YouTube beauty guru I like to watch. I was walking around Ulta one day and saw this on sale for under $4. The price was good for the mascara and decided to try it out. I've been using it for about 2 weeks and i'm very impressed. I curl my lashes before I put this on, and I don't notice it holding that much of the curl, but what it DOES do i'm more then pleased with. The pigmentation is really dark which I enjoy because I have dark features and I want my lashes to stand out as well. Definitely recommend this, I believe it retails for about $7 which is about average for a good drugstore mascara.

My usual favorite drugstore mascara is Loreal Voluminous and I wanted to see if this would surpass it, but I don't think so. I love the price, the wand feels smooth and glides through my lashes, the pigmentation is very black, it separates, lengthens... but it doesn't give me the volume I want. Even with multiple coats. Still a good mascara, but not for those of us that like borderline-clumpy dramatic lashes.

I'll admit I dismissed Prestige as a brand for a fair amount of time, however, thanks to YouTube I realized it was a brand worth trying! I discovered that Prestige actually makes some great products at great prices, including this mascara. My Blackest Lashes is definitely a top drugstore mascara pick for me. First of all, it does have strong black pigmentation which helps define your lashes and add some everyday drama. The brush is a manageable size to get among the lashes, with enough space between the bristles to create some definition and leave minimal clumps. It leaves great volume, and never has an overabundance of product on the brush once it comes out of the tube. The mascara itself can be rather wet the first couple of times you use it, but after that the formula is perfect. This isn't the best mascara for lengthening if that's what you're looking for, but it isn't marketed that way anyway, so I don't find it a big deal. I'm really satisfied with My Blackest Lashes, especially for the price!

I've been using all three of the Prestige mascaras for a few months now. This is the best one, by far. I know some people have had issues with it, but that could be because the formula starts out a little slick at first. After a few days it adapts and starts working. I know most mascaras whether high end or low end do the same thing. I prefer it that way because really dry formulas tend to flake. I cannot rave enough about this mascara. It holds a curl, it keeps lashes soft, and you can build the coverage over and over in order to get that dramatic lash look. I don't use false lashes most of the time with this one. This is a mascara that Make-up Artists look for. It can be hard to find one that doesn't go stiff or flake. I've used it for a few months and it's time for another tube (for sanitary reasons), but it still works. It's a gem in the drugstore. You won't get Tammy Faye lashes, but they'll be soft and really long/thick. You can find it at Rite Aid or Ulta.

I love the wand for this mascara. It really does blacken
your lashes. It does a great job at separating and coating. Key to this mascara is that you need to patient during application. Best way is to wiggle wand from base of lashes towards the tip. I usually wipe off excess of tip onto a tissue better; I hate clumpy lashes. Def would repurchase!

I recommend the Prestige for when you need a great mascara, able to deliver, on a budget, but it's not a replacement for whichever fabulous high end mascara you favour.
My lashes become voluminous with this but with absolutely no length to speak of. My favourite mascara of the moment is the Diorshow Extase, which adds reams of length and gloss - however, if you are most concerned with volume, My Blackest Lashes is bound to please you.
This feels quite nice to apply, zigzagged through the lashes, and it lasts for the night, but not into the morning. I would give this 3.5 and I like it about the same as My Biggest Lashes. The wand, I prefer, as it's more maneagable.

This mascara wasn't as black as I expected. It was black, but not in a standout way. The separation was good. There was no smudging or flaking, but the mascara dried out very quickly. For overall performance, I'd stick with My Biggest Lashes.

Ok heres the deal:
I absolutely love this mascara. I have tried many from L'oreal to Clinique to Estee lauder to Dior... and this is the best for me!
It is VERY black, and gives me so much volume and thickness that I look like I am wearing falsies. When I wear this I can even get away with skipping eyeliner.
BE AWARE ( and this is why I suspect a few people dislike it) It is not a mascara that you just throw on. You have to take your time to put it on carefully and swiftly or it will clump. I use an eyelash comb to help separate my lashes quickly after I have put it on in the traditional zig zag motion. I find that it is worth the effort though because for me the payoff is pretty awesome. I didn't take off any lippies for the process being a bit high maintenance because It is just so worth it, and I have been getting many compliments on my lashes with it on. So If you dont mind a bit of fuss then go for it!

I was pretty excited about this as it was my Prestige debut. Unfortunately I just didn't like this mascara. I think it's supposed to be a fiber mascara, and I don't know if I got a bad batch or what but it made my lashes look clumpy and spider leggy. Wouldn't repurchase -- back to CG Lashblast it is.
