i ordered the era foundation a week and 3 days ago, which is 6 business days ago, and i JUST received an email with my tracking number.. I just tracked it, and its "initiated" which means they JUST now sent it!!! I'm not a very happy person right now, beings there website said.. and i quote "Usual delivery time is 3-7 working days for products that will be shipping from our warehouse. You will be promptly informed of delivery dates for products that are back-ordered." if i had known that it would've taken almost 2 weeks to get this product, i would have NEVER ordered it, and just went to Macys next door to get my normal MAC brand. they were not helpful in helping me figure out where my order was either. just a shame!.. i was so excited to try the stuff too :(

NC25 Chinese, oily skin w/ dry lines from trying to reduce acne, early 30s.
All the positives are true, air brushed finished, did not settle into my large pore or lines... and I have been faithful for at least 3 years. Y3 was always a little too light but you could not beat the natural looking finish (if I did not mind the off color match). The past year I have been trying to mix in Y5, but the brown tone just makes me look older or makes the face look a little muddy.
I am ready to move on but if the color was absolutely perfect in photos, I never would leave.

I purchased this from a makeup store where the ladies working demonstrate products on you and give you an opportunity to apply it yourself, all before purchasing the product. I have never tried to apply this product by spraying it on my face. I don't even see how that would work well. The employee applied it to my face using a kabuki brush, and that's how I've continued to use it. By spraying it directly on your face or by using the sponge that Classified includes in the package, you are going to waste ALOT of foundation. I don't find it helps my oily skin, but I have resigned to the fact that my skin is oily and there's not much I can do about it. It does, however, give you an airbrushed look and I have no trouble with staying power. It's still on in the evening. Since this is my first time buying era face, I don't know how long the can will last. If it lasts a few months, I would say it's worth the price.

I bought this foundation because i was told by my beauty therapist it is good for sensitive skin prone to break outs so i got it, when i first tried it my skin looked flawless, i've been using it a few months now and it's not bad, it does look more natural than other foundations i've used, you may still need to conceal dark blemishes with a stronger coverage foundation and this wears off a little after a few hours, if you touch your face it leaves a void. Make sure you shake verrrrrrry well for it to work.

YUCK! I had high hopes for this foundation. The sales girl spoke very highly of this. Did not apply evenly with spraying, and not much better when applying with a brush or sponge. Therefore, if you cannot spray it for an airbrushed look, what is the point of the spray container? Does not spray continuously and more splatters then sprays.
I found this foundation sat on top of my skin, looking really unnatural. I itched my face, taking off an even streak of foundation...so embarrassing!
I also do not like the smell, because it smell like chemicals.
High hopes crushed. Too bad.

The very lightest shade is several shades too dark for me. It's an excellent airbrush foundation; however, they must broaden their shade range a bit to accommodate NC10 types.

I am absolutely addicted to this product. I am lucky enough to have a place in town that carries this product therefore I was about to pick out the correct colors for my skin. Summer time I am usually a R6 and winter time I go to Y5.
I have tried a few different ways of applying it to have the best finish and coverage. I like the spray on method but it gets kind of messy. I feel like the sponge method I am not able to work fast enough to apply a smooth finish and waste too much product. The method I has work best for me is to lightly spray the foundation onto my Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki - F80 then apply and blend on my face. I believe that it's the Mac 187 equivalent, but I'm not 100%.
I am a fan of their Facebook page and have received great deals through there. Last week was a 50% off special. I bought 3 foundations! On top of the deal, they also provided free shipping. I'm very happy with this product and have gotten lots of compliments on my skin.

After all of the good reviews I wanted to like this product SO bad. I tried various ways of applying it and it just didn't do it for me. The best way by far was with a sponge, but the finish definitely didn't justify the price. The spray on method was great...except for the caking around my eyes. It also rubbed off of my nose with extreme speed. I'm sad, I wanted this to me my HG!

HG status. Fabulous finish. I tried many failed foundations before finding this one and I am never going back. Only problem is getting it online. HSN has the best price but their shipping is pricey.
Definitely worth it to try!

I recieved Y5 and Y7 in the mail yesterday. According to the Classified Cosmetics website, my color match should be R6 which didn't make much sense to me since I mainly have golden undertones. Either I've been wearing foundations that don't match my skintone or their color matching system was incorrect. So, trust in your instincts if it gives you a match that you don't feel is correct. Y5 matched my medium tan NC37 - NC40 skin perfectly, and Y7 was too dark for my face. But, according to their website I can use Y7 for contouring, as a bronzer, and on the rest of my body since it's one shade darker than my foundation shade. I think I would rather use their official bronzer as a bronzer though. I think I would also rather use Y5 or their golden shimmer shade for the rest of my body. I feel that Y7 would just be too dark and unnatural looking. I was so pleased with how well Y5 matched my golden, medium tan skin. It's not too yellow. It accentuates golden skin rather than exaggerating it. I always disliked Mac foundations for this exact reason. Although my Studio Fix Fluid NC40 foundation claims to be neutral cool, there is nothing neutral about it. It's very golden/yellow. Too much so. My skin, being somewhat tan, has very slight peachy tones even though it is primarily golden. So, finding a foundation that matches my skin perfectly and doesn't make me look too yellow/gold has been very difficult for me. The only other foundation, other than ERA Face in Y5, that seems to match my skin well is Laura Mercier Mineral Powder Foundation in Rich Vanilla.
If you have oily skin, as I do, you will definitely need blotting powder for your t-zone. My t-zone felt a bit oily within only 30 minutes of application. So, I used a little Mac blot powder. I had to reapply the blot powder about 3 more times over a period of 8 hours or so. For a comparison, Bare Minerals foundation in the original formula makes my skin less oily than this foundation. I have to use powder less often throughout the day with Bare Minerals. I used a moisturizer (Johnson & Johnson) underneath the ERA face foundation. So, that could have caused my skin to become oily. The foundation itself feels somewhat average (not light and not heavy) on the skin. It would have felt lighter with fewer applications, I'm sure.
The foundation's staying power is still questionable to me. Since I used quite a bit, some of it transfered onto tissues and towels when I tested it a few hours after application. I will update my view of the foundation's staying power when I try the sponge method of application this weekend.
Moving on, I would say that this foundation offers buildable, sheer to full coverage depending on the method of application that you choose to use and how much you layer the product. I have only sprayed the product directly onto my skin. I have yet to use a sponge to stipple the product on. I'm fairly certain I will prefer stippling with a sponge as opposed to spraying the product directly onto my face. Using the spraying method is very, very messy. I thought people were exaggerating about the mess this product leaves when you spray it on, but I was very wrong. There was makeup ALL OVER my bathroom. It seemed like there was more product on the floor than there was on my face. Also, I found the coverage to be very, very sheer when you spray it on. I had to spray my face 4 plus times to achieve medium coverage. So, I wasted a lot of product. I think stippling with a sponge will provide more coverage and be much less messy and wasteful. I'll try the sponge method this weekend and update my review.
Overall, judging only after applying it with the spray on method, I would give the foundation a B or a B- since application was very messy, my face required blotting throughout the day even though the foundation is oil-free, the foundation's staying power is questionable, and medium to full coverage requires several (more than 2 or 3) sprays.
I'm still hopefull that this foundation, when applying with the sponge method, will be great since the color match is excellent (fyi - I hear that all shades of the foundation are forgiving.) and given the excellent results that Carmindy (the makeup artist on TLC's What Not To Wear) always got on the show using the sponge method. I think that the sponge method will increase the staying power of the product and provide a fuller coverage, while using less of the product. I will update this weekend. For now, I give it four lippies.
****Update....I've used it a couple of times since my first review using the sponge and stipple method, and I love the result. It gives smooth, medium to full coverage, but it still looks natural. My skin looked really even and flawless. This method was ALOT less messy than the spray-on method, also. I didn't experience the fading that others have complained about. So, I added another lippie! Love this foundation. Worth the price, in my opinion. continued >>

I have purchased both the ERA Face Spray foundation and the ERA everyday foundation. I was apprehensive to buy the everyday, just because it claims to have a lighter coverage than ERA face. But, I've found that this really isn't the case. They have pretty much the same coverage, both are buildable, and both the same amount in each bottle. One big difference though is the price. I pay about 55 US dollars for ERA face, whereas ERA everyday is much less, about 33 US dollars. One can for me of either of these productsd has a lifespan of 3-4 months, and that's using it pretty much every day.I can't complain about this product. I used it for about two years, and then started using mac for a few months, but now I'm back to this stuff again and have been using it for about a year now. Its a fantastic product. It looks polished and natural, and its super lightweight. i usually dab some moisturizer on the back of my hand and then spray on the product and dab my sponge into the mixture, because it can tend to be a bit dry. My one complaint about this product (even though i keep using it) - the price! It's so damn expensive. But, I'm an addict so I most likely will keep coming back to this stuff.

I use era everyday spray foundation in y3 everyday as part of my makeup routine. The website that matches your color based on your previous foundation worked well. I apply this foundation using a sponge sprayed with fix +. It seems to last all day on me without much wearing off or any color change. I would recommend this foundation for anyone who simply wants to even out their skintone. If you wanted a less sheer coverage, the more expensive regular era spray foundation might work better for you. I haven't experienced any reactions or breakouts from this product.

I've been eyeing spray foundations for a few years now. The reviews for Sally Hansen's version were so bad, I didn't even bother trying the product. I really wanted to buy Temptu, but couldn't justify the price for my profession - my actor pals can write this off their taxes, I cannot. ERA is a higher-end foundation, however I didn't pay full price - HSN has this at $26.00, which is pretty much within my budget.
The ERA Spray Foundations are split into two groups - red and yellow undertones. This makes sense to me, but since the sprays are water based and highly concentrated you have to choose carefully and this can get confusing. I liked the shade finder on the website, which basically matches your current brand and shade against their shades. I punched in MAC NC40/42 and I was directed to ERA Shade Y7. Once the product came, I was alarmed at how dark it was, so I ended up buying the Y5 as well and using a bit of each.
Ok, let's talk about application... I discovered three possible application processes. 1) To spray the foundation directly onto the face. This proved tedious for me and the "Z" pattern you're directed to spray on your face didn't work for me because I still had to blend the "Z". Trying to do this with two shades of spray foundation turned this method into a scene from Will & Grace.
2) Was to spray the foundation into my palm. In my case, spraying TWO foundations into my palm. Fail, lol. The product began drying before my eyes before I could apply it properly. This technique MAY work for those who are working with only one shade, but you've got to be quick! I tried this with a sponge, my fingers and a foundation brush. None of these worked. :>(
3) Spraying the product directly unto a damp wedge sponge worked best. Yes, it is a waste of product, but no more so than spraying it on your face and then blotting it with a wedge sponge. (I tried both ways, each time testing on a clean wedge so that I could see for myself the amount of absorbtion). I sprayed a squirt of each unto a damp wedge and began stippling, then realized that light strokes were better, as stippling accentuated my pores.
This foundation is a pain to use...you have to shake it up well, or the pigment won't be accurate. It's waterbased so it separates quickly and easily. The caps included in the packaging are useless - much too tall and hard to store for this reason. I'm either going to cut mine down, or throw them away altogether. What a waste of packaging material - shame on you ERA!
I got better results using a well-moisturized face and then a primer. Again, this is water based, so if your skin is not moisturized, your skin is only going to drink it up and leave you with a dull, uneven finish. Once on, it does look luminous and stays that way all day. I brush a little UD Baked over my hairline and bridge to bring up the glow a bit more. No touch-ups necessary, once it is on and blended, it will wear for several hours, meaning atleast eight hours with a primer. Just a bit of face powder along the nose.
Will I purchase again? Probably not...it's just too much to shake it for several mintes each time, then focusing on the squirts to get the right amount for fear of wasting it. The excess tends to pool around the nozzle, so take care to rinse it off. As I said, the cap is ridiculous and useless. Removal is a bit of a challenge - I'd recommend a separate remover for this and not just a cleanser, unless you use one formulated for such a task.
Note: Found this link that may offer further ideas on how to master the technique of applying this and other spray-on foundations.

I tried this product due to the rave reviews. Unfortunately I did not like the foundation. I found it looked heavy on my face and soon became oily. if I scratched my face the foundation left a defined void. This foundation also clogged my pores. I kept trying it different ways hoping my mind would change, however I have given up, especially because the pump also clogged.

I bought this foundation before my senior prom. I needed a foundation that felt light on my face but still provided great coverage. I also wanted a foundation that looked great in pictures. This product (in shade R2 for my pale complexion) was a winner on both counts.
I apply by first shaking the can very well, spraying it into my hand, and applying it with a foundation sponge over well-moisturized skin. I set it with Merle Norman Luxiva translucent pressed powder
The foundation provided marvelous coverage (conquering a pre-prom breakout) but I never felt as though I was wearing a mask. My photos turned out great. This product gave my face a soft, radiant glow, but I never had to worry about the ugly oilies.
I only say I would buy this product again because of the fact that I don't often wear makeup. This foundation is too expensive for daily use, in my opinion.

I have been using this product for almost a year and absolutely love it, I call it my magic makeup because I have a very uneven complexion and scarring from acne. This is the first makeup I have found after spending lots of money searching to make me look flawless. I usually have to switch my foundations often because they seem to quit working for me but I never have had to for this. TIPS FOR USING & APPLYING- when you first get it shake it for at least 5 minutes, they product is made of 60%(which is great) but you definitely need to shake it real good the first time. Also, shake it for 3-5 seconds each use. This maximizes your results. If the product isn't shaken enough you will end of spraying too much and waste a lot of the product. For applying, hold the can from your face 2-3 inches away and spray in an "S" motion (No more then 2 seconds worth), wait a second or 2 and rub it in with your fingers and hands. I do not use a sponge because its quicker to use your hands and doesn't waste the product by soaking it up with a sponge. Another trick I use is to spray a small amount in your palm and use your finger to apply it as a concealer to problem areas and under eyes then spray the "S." This allows you to cover more without spraying a ton of the foundation. It takes me less then 2 minutes to have a flawless airbrush finish. This product is great because its build able to your ideal coverage. IF you have oily skin I have found using a pressed powder after you apply it "Sets it" and mattifies it. Carry a compact pressed powder with you and it you get shiny just apply a small amount.
Normally I use the original Era Classified but I have been using the Everyday collection lately. Its great as well and gives me almost the same coverage as the original and its alot cheaper so If you have a pretty clear complexion I would use the Everyday. Hope this helps!!!! continued >>

Just purchased this for £36, read alot of good reviews but I have to say i'm a touch dissapointed. The colour match on the website was good and the colour I received (Y5) is just right. I don't really see the point in this as a 'spray foundation' as it advises you to spray on to your hand first, that sort of defeats the object for me.
The formula is strange, haven't ever used anything similar, quite watery and you really need to shake very well before each use. I have acne prone skin and some scarring, coverage was OK but I would say I get better coverage from my estee lauder double wear foundation.
I found the foundation to be quite dewy on the skin, so if you like a matte appearance powder is needed. It was transfer resistant which is good but it did wear off and go very shiny as the day went on. Also it has a very odd smell which I didn't like.
I am still on the search for the best foundation and this isn't it for me :( Wouldn't buy again.

OMG!!!! This is the foundation I have been looking for all of my life. Easy to apply and the finish result is almost perfect skin for those of us whose skin is anything but perfect. WARNING: The finish is very natural and gives you a glow, so if you are looking for a matte appearance you would have to use a powder with it.

This is an awsome foundation! Of course i heard about this from watching the amazing Carmindy apply this to all the ladies on the show. I never got the hang out spraying it onto my face so i do what Carmindy does, I apply it to a sponge then to my face. It looks flawless!!! i have really problem skin and this stuff covers everything and it's so light! Never looks cakey to me. The color i have is a bit dark so i only wear this in the summer months, I wanna order another soon but i'm leary about the color match on the website. The price is.. expensive, but the can seems to last me forrever. I also agree the cap could be half the size it is now kinda annoying! anyways awsome stuff!!
