I quite liked the wet formula, but found the brush difficult to work with. It took quite a bit of effort to get my lashes looking even, because the 'bumps' coated my lashes, but the dips between the bumps didn't. This made for quite a gappy look, until I played around with it somewhat. The end result was very pretty - fluttery, fairy-like(?!) lashes, which looked extremely long and curled. I didn't get much in the way of volume, but I wasn't expecting that. My lashes held the curl well, but I did find that specks of mascara (presumably the fibres) migrated into my eyes - a deal-breaker for me.
I'd recommend this mascara to girls who want crazy length and whose lashes maybe struggle to hold a curl. But I'd say if you seek volume or have sensitive eyes, you should probably look elsewhere.

This is my first time to use a mascara with fibres. Its very intersting! And I love it! Firstly it hold a curl really really well - all day; the forumla is quite wet, but once it dries, it kinda turns water resistant and there is no flaking or smudging after a full days wear. That being said, it's very easy to remove with water as it just washes off as a whole, in fibre clumps I suppose. However, using makeup wipes does take a little bit longer.
I never used to wear mascara on my bottom lashes because I feared looking like a panda. BUT I can use this mascara knowing it will stay put - and it does! Very pleased.
For me, this mascara gives good length, definition, separation but only a little bit of volume. It really opens up your eyes.

I quite like this mascara! I got it in my Sephora Lashstash, and it was one of the mascaras I was most excited to try. This gives a very elegant, youthful, pretty look to my eyelashes, which I love. It's sort of a wispy, doe-eyed effect that's really sweet. It looks really lovely with a soft eyeshadow, like a champagne or rose gold, and not much eyeliner, if any.
Is it a look I want every day, though? Probably not. Some days I want a bit more depth with my mascara, especially when I'm doing bold or dark eyeshadow, and this doesn't show up very well on very striking eye makeup. It's better left as being the focus of the whole eye area. So yeah, not really an everyday mascara for me unless I'm on a natural, girly kick in my makeup routine!
The brush and packaging are great, I find. The design is quirky and adorable, and it stands out on my vanity. It takes a little playing around to figure out how to best use the wand, but once you get it it' super easy. I use the curved edge to mould around the curve of my lashes first, which puts the mascara on the base of the lashes, then I flip it over and use one of the 'bubbles' to even it out and apply product to the remainder of my lashes. This totally prevents clumping and gives the loveliest effect!
It's a little tricky to get off, I find. There's always a few little flakes of it left on my lashes after I've cleaned my face, which I don't usually get with mascaras. Not a big deal, just worth mentioning!

I agree with the review by shimmergirl. I also like dramatic, dark lashes. This is okay-- holds curl verrry well but that's not what I'm into, my lashes are curly anyway. The package is cute, and the brush is interesting, but the formula does seem a little harsh. Hard to tell if it's psychosomatic or not but I felt like I had fibers in my eyes after finding out it's a fiber mascara from Japan. It would be great for straight lashes, I think.

This mascara was not bad but there was nothing special about it either. I like thick, dramatic lashes and this mascara is better for a natural look. My lashes are dark, thick, and relatively curly already. This mascara held a curl very well, gave good definition, and added some length. It may be great for some people, but for me, this was not what I was looking for. If you are looking for length, there are many more mascaras out there that can do the job better. It does hold a curl well though.

I wanted to love this mascara so much, but it gave my eyes a HORRIBLE reaction! I have never reacted to a mascara, EVER so for that to happen is truly devastating. Every time I wore the mascara, my upper lash line would itch like crazy. When I removed the mascara I could see my lash line was puffy, red and flaky :/ I eliminated all other makeup products until the reaction went down, tried this mascara again (with no other products on my face) and yet again the reaction happened. If you purchase this mascara, I would definitely keep your receipt in case you need to return it. I loved the look this gave my lashes, but the reaction I had to it makes me give this 1 lippie :(

I got this mascara as part of the Sephora Lash Stash kit. It worked really well - it held curl and made my lashes look nice. I think it would be a bit easier to use in a full size. I will more than likely be buying a tube when I run out of my current mascaras!

I got this when i was in asia (waterproof, purple tube). Probably a little cheaper than the horrid 24 they go for at Sephora here, but not much. Honestly, my everyday, casual holy grail. Lengthens and thickens, holds a curl, doesnt smudge, doesn't clump. NOT dramatic, but sometimes I let it dry and add a few more coats and I've gotten a lot of compliments with this. It is gentle on the eyes, and I haven't had problems removing it unlike Lash Blast or Falsies. Sometimes I put falsies or some "more dramatic" mascara over it, for more effect, because Fairy Drops doesnt leave my lashes feeling brittle. Love love love, looking to buy the pink/gold packaging one at sephora when i run out. Definitely my HG mascara.

I got this in my Sephora Lash Stash kit, and I really think it would be better in a full sized version. The brush does an awesome job of curling lashes, but as with any mascara involving fibers it's difficult to transfer all the product easily from the wand to lashes. My tube didn't say waterproof but it did not budge all day and felt waterproof to me when I was trying to wash it off. It made my lashes look lush and full but not dramatic and full of volume which is what I wanted. Overall a good mascara for everyday, since it makes lashes full and natural looking.

I got this in a mascara sampler. I love love LOVE the way it looks, but I constantly feel like there's something in my eye whenever I wear it, and I'm pretty sure its fibers were the reason I somehow ended up with an eye infection last week (probably somehow got a fiber into my eye while trying to wash it off). Will not be purchasing it and will probably move onto other mascaras D:

Tube is shorter and fatter than I was expecting (and it's kind of cheapy looking for the price). Gives a really good result, but it's a super wet formula so it's easy to get on eyelids. Huge pain in the a$$ to remove......so much so I will only use it special occasions. Not worth the $ in my opinion (would definitely reconsider this and buy it again if it were easier to remove).

I own both Scandal Queen and Volume Burst Mascara in waterproof.
I have a full review of Scandal Queen on my blog: http://www.makingmymarcbyliz.com/2011/0/fairydrops-scandal-queen-mascara.html
As for the Volume Burst Mascara, I like that it's more volumizing than Scandal Queen, but it clumps up easier. I'm a huge fan of asian mascaras with the fiber formulations because they don't smudge at all, the only issue with fiber formulations is, as it is fabulous for length, it lacks exceptional volume.
I love dramatic lashes even on a daily basis, and even though both don't give me the volume that I'm looking for, they are both great for everyday wear. But for going out, I'll use a more dramatic mascara and coat them with one of the fairy drops mascara for a smudge free look.
Overall, I enjoy using the fairydrops mascaras, and even though I said I'd repurchase the products, I'm still undecided if I would. $24 is expensive for mascara, and sometimes I think I would rather spend an extra $6 to purchase Giorgio Armani's Eyes To Kill, and Eyes To Kill Excess

I have the waterproof, "volume burst" version of this mascara (purple tube).

Held my curl for the first part of the day, but the effect wore off and my curls were straight and drooping again. Was totally disappointed since so many people have raved about how fairydrops can hold curls well.

Volume wasn't particularly fantastic. There's not a lot I could find to love about this mascara, unfortunately. I really wish I could have.

I love this mascara, with a caveat.

As other people have mentioned, it's lengthening, but doesn't particularly add fullness (I have pretty curly lashes, so couldn't say much about its ability to curl). And, as other people have mentioned, more than 1 coat of this can lead to clumping.

So, to rectify this problem, I put a thin coat of my HG DiorShow on over the Fairydrops.

This totally fixes it - I get length, definition, fullness, and ultra-black feathery lashes. I don't necessarily use this every day - I'll maybe use this combo on a day when I plan to go out that evening (the effect lasts all day).

And, for ultra-super-special events, when I REALLY want to the fake-lash look (without actually applying false lashes, which I hate), I start with a coat of Lancome Cils Booster XL, follow with a couple of coats of Fairydrops (swept over the tops and bottoms of my lashes, which I'd never thought to try before, but the illustration on the Fairydrops packaging implied that that was the way to go), and finished with a coat of DiorShow, or even DiorShow Blackout.

What can I tell you? I'm a mascara freak. It's hands-down the most important component of my makeup regimen, and the one I'll happily spend the most on. So while having this combo of products on hand can get a bit pricey, as far as I'm concerned, it's TOTALLY worth it. continued >>

Not awful, not great. It clumps on me and necessitates lots of combing between coats. It provides minimal to moderate volume and doesn't smudge much, but did not stay put during a nap and flaked a bit. Lots of hype, but Covergirl Professional mascara is under $10, provides less clumps and better volume, doesn't flake and doesn't budge during activities, naps. Nice marketing, but just an average, overpriced, smudge-resistant mascara. UPDATE: yep, I compared CG Professional Thick and it blew this out of the water. With FD, it still smears and when I step close to a shower (not even put my face under the water), it smears in clumps everywhere. With CG, no clumps or combing between coats. With this, I have to take off the excess with a kleenex and comb quickly each time or my lashes get gummy and stick together. Even drugstore skeptics, give it a try. I will certainly not purchase FD again, can't depend on it.

I have the waterproof, "volume burst" version of this mascara (purple tube) which I picked up in Tokyo. Like most tubing mascaras I've tried, it's not that great with building volume, but it gives long, clean, and clump-free lashes, which is good enough for me. It's actually pretty waterproof too - I use an oil-based makeup remover to get it off.

My pin-straight lashes have been forever transformed by FAIRYDROPS Scandal Queen! Nothing else (not Lancome, Diorshow, Lashblast, NOTHING) will come near my eyelashes again. This is honestly a miracle product. It lasts all day without smudging or smearing or coming off, holds perfectly, and CURLS so well!

This is a fantastic mascara. It gives lashes a very feathery, dramatic look and the curled brush makes it easy to coat every little lash. My only complaint is that I find that it dries out after about a month so. As with most dramatic mascaras, I do not suggest using this on your bottom lashes...That's what bottom lash mascaras are for! I am a mascara junkie and this one is definitely in my top 3.

Thought I would like this mascara but the formula is SO wet and god forbid I got any on my waterline because it would make my eyes burn and water so badly! It made my lashes look alright but as far as the "tube" or "fiber" mascaras, I have to say I prefer the MAC false lashes. I wanted to love it, but this got returned.

Absolutely love the brush, not many out there with a curve, non plastic bristles, & three bubbles in the brush. Loved the fact that the mascara isn't dry its very liquidy/goopy and glides on amazingly. Adds lots of volume and length. continued >>
