Much as I LOOOOOVE Brazilian stuff, this one really let me down. It did the opposite of what it claims despite its status as a "cult favourite". It gave me one of the worst breakouts I have ever had and my pores look even bigger now. Also, within five minutes of application I started to feel a stinging sensation all over my face.

So right now, I'm still paying for my curiosity with this product and I have a lot of fixing to do. Tsk. Lesson learned.

Not entirely swearing off Kiehls products though, since they have other good stuff; this one just isn't one of them, in my opinion.

Bottom line: Use with precaution and take its "cult status" with a grain of salt.

I've used this for a long time..I guess since it was launched in my country (got it because my skincare junkie friend was raving about it non-stop). I was really in love with this masque and repurchased it when I ran out. I really like how it really cleanses out my pores and it's really good for my oily skin. Also, my blemishes look smaller and less inflamed when I wash this off. However, during application, it can feel a teeny bit tingling/spicy/stinging for me and I can feel its tightening effects. A serious downside is that it's pretty pricey. To be honest, I've repurchased this about 3 times and this time, I won't be repurchasing this anymore. Reason being that I've found a great alternative (and much cheaper) drugstore mask that works for me too (Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque)!

Anything that claims to get deep down into pores to extract dirt and bacteria i am absolutely sold. There is nothing that i love more than putting on a mask after a long day. This cleansing masque feels like it goes deeeeep down into pores and takes out all of the impurities. It does not sting or burn my skin at all. I put on more than the bottle says to because i really want to cover every part of my face. I use it about once a week because anymore than that and it would probably dry out. This is one of my favorite masks to use next to Estee Lauder's firming mask.

PROUD. OF. BEING. BRAZILIAN! I'm Brazilian and I can say it is a great pity that Brazilian cosmetics don't explore the power of the Amazonian clay. I'm a cosmopolitan girl from São Paulo, and once had vacations on Pará. I went to the river beaches at the mouth of the Amazon River. Most of these river beaches have this marvelous clay, and you can put it on your face, it is perfectly clean. The smell and the result of Kiehl's mask is almost the same as the original clay. The bad (and sad) part is the price: as it is a imported product, it's quite expensive compared to similar products in Brazil. I feel sad paying so much for a product whose main raw material is from my loved country.

I am so thrilled I tried this mask. While I love Kiehl's and have used many of their products for years, it's often hit or miss. Well, this is a major hit and has become a staple in my skincare arsenal. I have combination skin, and bought this to help shrink my pores, remove dead skin, and give me a glow. It delivered on all three, and then some. Unlike many other masks I've tried, it's super easy to wash off with a warm washcloth (no harsh scrubbing required) and leaves my pores tighter while my skin looks absolutely radiant. I use it twice a week, and it even prevents a pimple when one attempts to form. I'll see some redness and panic, use the mask, and it's gone by morning. Miraculous. And the price?! I'd pay twice as much for this mask. It's that good.

I suffered from a mild case of cystic acne in my early 20s, now I am left with scarring and blackheads. I get the occasional breakout during my monthly cycle. I have been using this mask for a month now, 3 times a week. I am also using the entire oil-free Kiehls skincare line as well.
I absolutely LOVE this mask! I haven't used a facial mask in probably 8 years, so I was skeptical. It feels cool and smoothe when you put it on, then it hardens after about 10 minutes (depending on the thickness you apply).
My skin was as soft as a babys bottom, it was bright (and my skin is normally dull in the winter) and it actually faded my acne scars!
The pot is huge, so I'm sure I'll have this product for awhile, and will definitely be repurchasing!

First off let me say that I'm a guy that loves beauty and skincare now that I got that out of the way let me that that this is heaven in a jar! I use to have had really terrible acne for the past 4 or 5 years now the only problem I have are blackheads and sometimes I have a break once in a while when I applied this mask the first thing I recognized was the burning on the sides of my nose and it immediately felt tight i let it sit for 10 minutes like it said on the jar rinsed it off with warm water pat dried my face looked in the mirror and I was shocked the blackheads on my nose where gone! my pores were shrunken my face was brighter and it had a glow it had never looked so beautiful I have to disagree that this makes skin dry it makes mine soft I mean really soft sometimes when I want extremely soft skin I apply this with my Shiseido Purness mattifying moisturizer oil free and its amazing a must try!

One of my 50 year old friends recommended this product to me for healthy looking skin with smaller pores. I'm 39 and have normal to dry skin. I use this product once a week. At first I found it dried my skin a little bit. But I realized the need to moisturize right after using the mask. Once I did that, my skin is clear and really looks better than it did prior to using. It seems to remove toxins and brightens me up. I like the product and would recommend it to anyone wanting to brighten up skin and shrink pores.

the title encourages you think about the Amazon....you get a moment away to an exotic land thinking about Amazonians in thongs with spears.

CONS
guilt- the carbon credits to shift all of the amazonian clay to the factory
a huge pot that you could only use up if your face was the size of the rest of your body
no real effect on my enlarged pores- my pores are very stubborn (and yes I used the matching cleanser and toner).

I wished I'd known about Kiehls return policy.

I love this mask! I have tried a lot of cleansing masks and so far I find this one is the best in terms of price, cleansing effect and the oil controlling ability. It dries out on your face very quick so it doesn't take you that long to wait (about 5 mins). I use it twice a week in the summer and once a week in the winter and I still have half a bottle left after 9 months of using it. It only requires a thin layer on your face so don't over put it. While it is drying, it gives you a slight stingy feeling on the cheeks but it is acceptable. It has a scent of clay so nothing fancy (I like it as I really don't like mask that smells too fragranced). After washing off the mask, it really cleanse your skin throughly and sometimes you can even see blackheads floating on top on your pores! I really like this mask a lot but I will still try out others.
