This Travel In Dior palette is widely available in duty-free shops for CAD$52, which is cheaper than their 5-shadow eye palettes. It comes in a beautiful blue compact, a velvet pouch that holds the compact along with the brushes, and an eyeshadow, lip, and blush brush.
-Powder: Diorskin Forever Compact, Extreme Wear Makeup SPF 25 in 02 Light Beige
-Diorblush in 829 A Touch of Blush
-4 shades of Iridescent Eyeshadows: (I would describe them as petal pink, mauve, light smokey grey, and shimmery white)
-Lipgloss: in 151 A Lick of Taffy (soft shimmery pink)
-Lipstick: in 369 Cosmic Rose (medium pink color)
This seemed like a great buy at the time because it had eye, lip and face makeup all in one palette.
From the picture on the box, the powder looked like a peachy highlighter but I was really disappointed when I opened it to discover a cool toned NW15ish powder. They actually airbrushed the powder part on the box to be sparkly. Talk about false advertising!
This is a very light coverage powder that should be used to control oil or used as a finishing powder, rather than a foundation alone. This applies very smooth and is finely milled, but with a heavy hand it can look chalky. Also, the enclosed brush is too small to use to apply all over the face. It would best be used for touch ups rather than full application.
In the pan, this blush is a beautiful pink peony color with a hint of shimmer. Sadly however, this does not show up at all on my medium tanned skin. It is not pigmented at all and it is very chalky. When you swipe the brush over this, powder gets everywhere because it is so chalky! This palette was definitely made for people with ultra-fair skin in mind. I have layer this 5 or 6 times to get it to even show a hint of color on my skin.
My favorite eyeshadow of the bunch is the shimmery white. The white works great as a highlighter under the eyebrow. All of the other colors are really chalky and not pigmented. The petal pink only has a hint of pink. The mauve only has a hint of purple, and the smokey grey shows up as light silver. These colors are way too light to do a smokey eye.
Lipgloss and Lipstick:
The lipgloss is a beautiful shimmery pink on the lips but unfortunately, it has a really bad taste (think Revlon lipsticks). The lipstick also has the same bad taste and the color does not show up at all on my lips.
Overall, the quality of this palette has really been compromised. I get better pigment from drugstore products and the bad taste of the lipgloss and lipstick is a huge negative. This palette could be used for a very natural daytime look, but is virtually useful for medium skin tones.
