I have both the original POTL edp (both a tiny little vial AND a hefty decant) and CBD Labyrinth dupe roll-on oil. I love the original POTL, except I wish the cherry note would be more pronounced and last longer, rather than disappearing fairly quickly. Much to my joy, the CBD dupe has a stronger cherry. Upon initial application, I was quite taken aback by how similar the two were. the CBD definitely captures the 'essence', although obviously the original has significantly more depth, complexity, robustness, and character. while the original will shift and developer for hours, the CBD develops just for about 30 minutes, which is fine since I loved the stronger cherry.
However, upon dry down, the fragrance turned into etailery chemical/plastic/burned odor---- but only ever so slightly. I took one lippie off for that.
I will continue to order because although I know I will order the original EDP one day, I am perfectly happy to use the dupe everyday by applying it to inner pulse points- that way nobody can detect the chemical drydown unless they were to come within inches of my inner elbow/wrist. [who would do that? :) :)] and as for myself, i am happy to avoid inhailing the scent once it's directly on my inner pulse points, just for the lasting cherry.
lasting power of the oil? a few hours.

I love the original Luctor et Emergo and had read very nice things about this dupe. Customer service is A+, really astonishingly good, and the price eyepoppingly lower than the PotL version. However, this has an odd sourish note that ruins an otherwise very good likeness for me. Also, the oil formulation is so heavy, it seems to fight with the "airyness" of this perfume.
Lastly, I don't like the spray oil -- it takes a long time to sink in and feels very slippery, much more so than the Auric Blends perfume oils I use regularly.
I would not hesitate to order from this outfit again -- she sent along two samples that I liked a lot, and the turnaround was crazy fast. But I would definitely order a roll on instead of a spray, and I would not order Labyrinth again.
The smell is 5 stars, I just wish it was stronger. Maybe the oil could be less diluted. I don't know the original, but this smells like vanilla and cut grass, absolutely lovely. I have a roll-on, and it does not leak. I super recommend it.
I have this both in the oil and the spray. I prefer the spray because of the sillage and believe me there is some! I wore this to a bday party a few weeks ago. Three people commented that they smelled pipe tobacco. They were nice, complimentary inquiries, saying something smelled so good. The lasting power is terrific - up to 8+hrs on me.
I have worn the original POTL LeE (edp)for 5 years now and love it. This is pretty close to the real thing. I get more of the grass and tobacco notes with the dupe and not as much incense. The original is much drier than the dupe. I was quite pleasantly surprised to find such a gem in a duplication.
CBD (Kathy) is quick to answer emails - overall the CS is impressive. Now lets see if her Guerlain SDV dupe is as great too....

Not having ever smelled the POTL either, I cannot compare it, BUT I will say that I had a specific idea in my mind of what I thought heliotrope would smell like....CBD's dupe met that idea to a T! It was not as sweet as I thought it might be, and I like it to layer with my other vanilla scents. I like the staying power of this as well.
First off, I have not sniffed the original POTL Luctor et Emergo. So I can't comment on how this compares to the original. Hopefully others can.
Labyrinth starts off with a strong playdoh note that overwhelms everything else for an hour or so. This is followed by artificial cherry and marzipan notes (reminded me a little of Jergens Cherry Almond body lotion). After a couple more hours I could detect an amberish-spicy basenote. By this time the playdoh had dissipated somewhat but was still dominant. I did not get any musk, vanilla, or tobacco.
The playdoh note is so strong and true that my DH who thinks every fragrance smells exactly the same immediately said, "hey, that smells like playdoh." My kids (playdoh experts) thought the same thing.
Sillage is moderate, not overwhelming. Staying power is excellent, I could still smell it after a shower. The texture is a bit sticky.
Personally, this is not for me, I just don't want to smell like playdoh.
