I had been looking for something that would help strengthen, protect, and help my bitten weak nails grow out. I found this product at my local grocery store for 6.99 which is a little pricey but I was up for anything. I have been using this product for a couple days now and let me tell you I have already seen results. I use it alone and or as a base coat. I apply one thick coat and it dries quickly, which I love. After I let it dry completely, ill leave it go or put a coat or two of color on top then ill use a different top coat. I saw that a lot of reviews said 'it isn't a good top coat' or 'I put two coats on and it doesn't dry' I just wanted to point out it says directly on the box to only use one coat as a base coat or alone. Not as a top coat. Just use it as its intended and you will get amazing results! My nails are hard as rocks and they already look thicker and it gives a beautiful gel finish. The only thing I will say is a bit annoying about this product is if you use remover just before this product it will bubble up a bit once it dries. Also, if you apply a color too soon it dents if you bump it against something. If I let it dry thoroughly it's perfect! Thanks and try it out :)

For the last year, my nails have been weak and spitting. I love the look of gel nails but I need to have clear, professional nails for my job - don't worry, my toenails are all kinds of wild to make up for it!
This product is a clear gel in a blue bottle and was $8.99 at the grocery store.
It went on fairly thick, no bubbles though as I was careful not to shake it - thank you MUA reviewers!
It did take ages to dry - at least 30 minutes. And that was only for one coat. I solved this problem by painting it on and sitting quietly and watching TV, but I will have to be careful when I paint my nails. This is not a paint and dash kind of product.
The look: pretty close to gel. A tough, smooth, thick coat. Shiny, low key, me. It wears well too, over a week for me. Not sure how polish would be over this.
So all is well in my little world. I removed lippies for the crazy long drying time. This could be a formulation thing; maybe gel just can't dry fast, but they should at least advise about this on the packaging!
So tap, tap, tap, go my steadily lengthening, strong, shiny nails on the keyboard...

I'm now on to my third bottle of this stuff, I obviously love it! I use it as a base coat only to help strengthen my weak bendy nails, this is perfect because the acrylic hardens my nails do they don't bend all the time and subsequently break. My only issues with this product is that it dries out pretty quickly and gets gloopy and stringy after the first month of opening it. I just pop in a few drops of thinner and gently roll the bottle to combine. I also don't like that the brush doesn't reach the bottom of the bottle, which makes getting the last 1/4 of the bottle out really difficult. All in all this is a great product if you invest in some nail polIsh thinner.

I posted my review for this under Hard As Wraps - Acrylic Gel (blue bottle), so I won't duplicate it here, but I love this product so far! Makes my nails look nice & thick & they're so much stronger w/this gel on.

i bought the one in the blue bottle. was about $6 at walmart.
i've never used any other gel nail polish, so i didnt know what to expect.
i recently learned from the nail board that shaking np bottles is what causes bubbles in the polish, so i gently rolled this. i had no problems at all with bubbles. the polish is a bit thick, so theres not as much play when applying it. i usually like to kid of dab polish in the middle and then swipe a few times to even it out over the whole nail, but with this i have to put it right where i want it at first. when i pick the brush up to go to the next nail there are stingy things that kid of go all over the place. nothing TOO terrible, but irritating just the same. the bottle says that this dries in 60 seconds, but in my case it did not. it took a few minutes to be non-tacky. i was skeptical about using this as a base coat since the other base coats i've used were thinner and tried matte, and this is just the opposite. but i was pleasantly surprised! the polish went on very smooth and after 1 coat looked like it was 2 coats! i made sure to wrap the tips of my nails to help with longevity, both with this base coat and the color. and then i used this as a top coat as well, although it doesnt say that you can. i made the mistake of not letting it dry 100% before going to bed, so there are a few sheet marks here and there, but its not terribly obvious. i found that after applying it it looked uneven at first but then leveled out nicely. as a top coat it gives a nice amount of shine.i've only been wearing it 2 days, but it seems to prevent chipping well so far. i've taken 2 shower in hot water and washed dishes numerous times and have no chipping. i think for people that have trouble with chipping, they should try wrapping the polish over the tips of their nails, and before they apply an polish at all swiping the nails with remover to get rid of any oils on the nails. i'll update this after a bit to report how it holds up. so far, i would rebuy.

UPDATE 02/20/12:
i'm really trying to make this work.... if i use a thicker layer i dont ge tthe strings between each nail, but i'm still getting bubbles when i use this as a topcoat. i DO love this as a base coat, but as a top coat it seems to be a no-go :(

I used to keep my nails polished constantly but over the last couple of years, I've decided to keep them natural but somewhat long. The problem is, they would break so I'd end up with no so attractive looking nails. I decided to start keeping them painted with a clear or barely tinted polish to keep the natural look. I picked up the Sally Hanson Hard As Wraps hoping it would help them look somewhat polished and stronger. I have to say, as long as I keep my nails painted with this, i've had great luck. I got the tinted kind and it's just barely pink, like a glossy pale pink. I can tell you I got lazy and quit using it for a few days and SNAP two of my nails broke. So, i'm not sure if it has any lasting effect after you stop wearing it but it's done really well when I remember to use it.
