Wow. I haven't written a review about this!? So my over all rating is a 4. Lets start with the positives:
-it has a metal eyelash comb instead of plastic which makes it easier to comb through the lashes
-the other side is a brush to brush though brows
-you can open one or both sides
Now with the cons:
-metal eyelash comb means you can stab your eye (which I've done once- ouch!)
-I've actually had two of these over the years because the first one broke. The little bit of plastic keeping the metal eyelash comb in just broke one day. So I had to replace it (which is why the package quality rating for this is a 3 from me)
-I don't use the brush side at all
-this gets dirty and it's hard to clean it
Now lets see the alternatives:
-Tweezerman (~$11 but doesn't have brush side & I've only seen it online at Sally Beauty Supply store)
-Ulta (exact same thing but for $6 & they even have one that is like a make-up brush style- long handle with one side being the comb & the other being bristles)
-Sephora ($5 exactly like the Sonia Kashuk one but clear)
So if you ladies can't get to a Target or afford to spend the $10 but have a spare $5-6 there are alternatives :)
I did put a "no" for re-buying this for two reasons. The first is that I've had the "new" (2nd) one for about 3yrs now and it hasn't broke. The other is that if it does break I'm not shelling out another $10. I'm heading to Ulta/Sephora instead for their $5-6 ones.
Okay I just went to clean this for the first time in a while (I've cleaned it before fyi). I took some oil to clean it up and I gently went around the metal comb. Well I had some "needles" from the metal comb fall out. Yeah. I'm lowering my review from a 4 to a 2. These aren't well made and I'm not shelling out $10 more for another one that'll fall apart again. continued >>

I love the metal side of this brush. I was looking for a good lash comb when I saw the good reviews on here and I'm glad I didn't splurge on a Tweezerman; this does its job perfectly, and it was only $4-5 when I bought it, compared to $15 for the Tweezerman. Perfect for people like me who tend to use clumpier mascaras. I've been using this for a good 3 years and I haven't had problems with it breaking, and the hinges haven't loosened at all.

The design for this product probably seemed like a good idea because when it's folded up, the metal tines are protected from dirt and from bending/breaking. But the damn brush & comb parts come out every time I try to fold it. continued >>

I bought this based on the reviews of MUA, I love it. It does a great job at separating my eyelashes and I haven't had any problems with mine as some have complained about it breaking and breaking when getting it out of the package. I've only had mine about a week now, so I hope it doesn't break anytime soon. I do not use the eyebrow brush, but I'll the the eyelash comb is very nice. Would buy again considering it doesn't break anytime soon.

This eyelash comb worked for about 2 weeks, and then the bristles started coming out of the comb end. At that point, the whole thing started to separate, and I soldiered on for awhile, but eventually just had to toss the whole thing.
I don't carry my makeup bag around with me, and I only rarely travel, so this wasn't exposed to hard living. I found the quality pretty terrible, especially from a company which usually has such high quality brushes! At least it was cheap.

I don't know why the last few reviews have complained about the packaging or how "cheap" this product is... mine has stood up to being thrown around in a travel make-up bag every day for the past eight months.* everything still opens/closes just as it should. I do keep it in a plastic zip against one of the walls of the bag, so maybe people aren't taking good care... I don't know! anyway.
I love this thing. I use the metal comb everyday after applying mascara. it really helps to separate and define my lashes (you'd think your mascara should be doing this on its own...!). the brush is nice too, for taming eyebrow strays. the brush does tend to pick up and hold onto make up though, so if you use it after you've applied foundation, it may stick to the bristles and you may be seeing them show up on your brows the next time you use it. nothing that a simple cleaning can't fix. I usually spritz clinique's brush cleanser on it after using, and wipe it off with a paper towel. bam. ready for the next usage. the bristles of the brush are just now starting to splay out, but for the price... I can easily replace it once it gets spider-status out of control.
seriously though, for the price, you're getting a great product. I know sonia kashuk also has a regular metal eyelash comb that's on the end of brush... I would imagine it works just as well, but with this guy, you get portability!! which is what I'm after, because I lug around my make-up almost everyday.
(* I've been on tour and on the road for the past eight months and have tossed this into my bag every day.)

I absoutly hate this tool. I bought mine at Target for $5. It broke as soon as I used it, the packaging sucks! I didn't use it wrong or open it too hard. The packaging is just made to brake. I still used the eyelash comb even after it broke but it was exteremly hard to use. It's too small, making you poking your eyeball or lid a lot easier! I was stupid and did it! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, spend the $10 on something else. (:

Oh gosh, I was so excited to use this, but when I took it out of its package and tried opening and closing this, it broke!! What a piece of junk. This would be a great lash comb if it was built to be sturdier and didn't break upon first use. Brought it back to Target.

ive used this product everyday for almost 10 years and have repurchased time and time again. i dont know how ANYONE puts mascara on without this. i have a ton of tools in my make up arsenal but this tops the essentials list. definite desert island keeper. this eyelash comb by sonia kashuk is not only cheap, easily accessible at any target, but makes almost ANY mascara wearable. cosmetic companies that make crap mascaras should thank this tool...it redeems even the worst ones. it declumps and fans out the lashes beautifully so you can layer your mascara. the newest model now has an eyebrow comb as well which i think is useful and a wonderful addition. they both retract so the metal teeth dont get snagged and is easily transportable. the only slight maintenance this thing needs is to clean out the teeth with a swipe of tissue when it gets a little clogged with mascara. my only word of warning is that the teeth can be sharp when you first use it but dulls down a bit with time. that being said you still should be careful. i have never gotten poked in the eye however so i have nothing but wonderful things to say about this eyelash comb. everyone who loves big or defined, clump free lashes should go pick one up now.

I was worried because they were metal that they would be spaced out to much? But they are actually better than most plastic! And you dont have to worrie about the teeth breaking off! Its also great to travel with because you can fold it up and not worrie about mascara getting in your purse/make-up bag. LOVEE!

This tool is wonderful! I never use the eyebrow comb, I just don't feel the need to brush my eyebrows, but the metal eyelash comb- if you've never tried a metal compared to a plastic, WOW.
I used this in high school when I couldn't find a good non-clumping mascara, and it's the only thing that REALLY separates your lashes without accidently pushing them together more.
You do have to be REALLY careful not to poke yourself because the edges aren't exactly rounded, but this is how it separates so well.
I don't really use it anymore because I have a good mascara, but I've never thrown this away, and it's never rusted or anything.
It's high quality, and great to keep on hand!

Back in high school I used to use a safety pin to separate my eyelashes and a few years back I bought the Vincent Longo eye lash comb but because the teeth were not protected the metal teeth would fall out. And then I found this at Target and I LOVE IT. It's so easy to comb through your lashes and the teeth don't fall out because it folds. It's very affordable, the Vincent Longo was around $14.00.

LOVE THIS! the comb works great for separating my lashes. i love that there's no plastic on the sides, so i feel like I can use the whole length of the comb. i do fear sometimes that I'm going to poke my eye with it, but i try to stay extra careful. the brush side works great for my eyebrows and is also very useful for brushing down those baby hairs at my hairline and part! I've never had any concerns about it breaking on me but if it does I will replace it in a heartbeat.

This is junk! It literally broke the first time I touched it. All i did was open one end and it fell off... I was able to re-attach it, but it was still loose, and even though it was cheap (four bucks) I don't appreciate the insta-crumbling. Also, the brush is nothing special (you can just use an old mascara brush).. the metal comb part didn't really work, for me. Dissapointing, because it looks so cute and handy in theory.

This comb is amazing but it broke on me when i pulled it out. It was not well connected to the plastic so every time I would take it out, it would break. But I probably just got a fluke and will repurchase it again.

I have owned this comb for almost 2 YEARS!!!! I absolutely cannot live without it!!!! The fact that the comb is metal and that the teeth of the comb are so thin is what makes this so amazing!!! I have not had any issues with it breaking or falling apart and like i've said i've had it for almost 2 years. I think that I am going to buy a few more just because I have had many things that I fall in love with and then they get discontinued or something. In conclusion...toss those useless, and bulky plastic combs and get one of these. You will definetily see a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! Got mine at Target.

After seeing this getting such great reviews on here I went and bought one. It works, but its flimy. The brush broke off after my second time touching it!!! And I wasn't being rough with it, its just cheap. Still, I'll use it I just wish it was put together better...it was only $5, but still, we aren't talking about the price, i'm talking about the quality.

Bought this after reading all these rave reviews. The metal spokes on this comb are really fine and they do a fantastic job of separating lashes, so much better than the plastic ones. It is scary sharp though, and sometimes I question the prudence of using something that sharp so close to my eyes. Can't say it doesn't get the job done though. My only complaint is that the plastic foldout handle is crappy, which makes the the eyelash comb keep falling out of mine. An annoying thing to deal with when this is otherwise an invaluable tool.

This is the best tool u can have for ur lashes!!! Whenever i have trouble with any mascara i just take this bad boy out and it separates my lashes removes all the clumps and just makes them look fabulous!! I use the lil brush side for my brows i just wet it a lil bit and comb out the foundation out of them and they look awesome like i penciled them in or something. perfect lil tool for the finishing touches on the brows and on the lashes.
