I made sure I finished the tube before I reviewed it. This products was NOT bad. It just did not do that much. It did not dry it out nor irritate it. It did not help with redness though. Not bad, just not great.

When I got this product about two years ago it was during summer when my skin was so sensitive I couldn't put on goggles to swim! so i went to the store and got this product and it's not that bad. I'm surprised from all the bad reviews. I think this product is good for people with mild acne. I had really bad kind and it took a few months for it to look like some of the acne was gone. it's also great for oily skin and for taking off makeup! i'm not crazy about the smell, but i can manage it. you just have to have the patience for the results to come.

This product was cheap so I gave it a try, it was ok, it didn't really do much for me.

i like this facewash, it has a "cooling" effect and doesn't dry my skin out - i use it once a day or every other day. has a nice smell and doesn't lather up much so it's pretty gentle - will definitely repurchase :)

I nvr used neutrogena face products b4. I thought they were cheap and wouldnt work. I got this product in hopes that it would do what it says it will do. And so far it has. It doesnt dry out my face. It is cooling and delicate on my skin. My skin tone has gotten more even and hasnt dried out at all. i like this product (:

Different from other face cleansers I've used, this one actually works. I saw dramatic results after only my first wash. It reduced the natural redness I have in my face and, although my face is very sensitive, it cooled it instead of irritating it. It has cleared almost all of my breakouts and I have only used it five times. This is the only cleanser that has completely worked well for me.

Tendency to become Irritated High
Redness Level Medium
Acne-Prone Level before Low

Acne-Prone Level after Little to No Acne

I give this cleanser props. It took about 2 full months before it started burning and making my skin red. Usually it takes a couple weeks. It was pretty good at making my cheeks calm down, and my skin felt cleaner after using it. Just don't use it if you have sensitive skin. :/

I am really disappointed with this product of Neutrogena. I only use Neutrogena cleansing products and this face wash was a total let down. I have a little bit of rosiness on my cheeks from irritation and it didn't do anything at all...Super let down

I used the whole bottle of this, and I am completely disappointed with the results. I really wanted this to work, because I have acne-prone skin that gets red very easily. I liked the cooling sensation and the fact that it used chamomile. But in the end, it did nothing--I saw no improvement with either the acne or redness.

This is one of the few skin products I've ever bought that I am 99% sure made my skin worse. I still get acne, but only in small amounts, and mostly confined to my chin. After using this, I got giant, painful pimples in places I haven't gotten pimples since I was a young teenager (my temples, my cheeks, et cetera), with at least a couple popping up every day. I didn't make the connection at first, because I've been having a lot of health problems and am on multiple medications with various strange side effects. After a couple of months, however, something clicked, and I decided to try another cleanser. I noticed an improvement within a day and have only gotten a couple of small zits since. So now I'm almost certain it was this, not the medications.

It did NOTHING for me! My face became its worst when i started using this! I broke out so bad and it has been weeks and its not getting better. I think maybe because it was a creme? I bought the Neutogena stress control acne scrub and that one is so far doing good! I'm already seeing less redness and my face looks brighter. It has an amazing clean cooling feel afterwards. Try that one out, but moisturize afterwards.

I like it so far, in terms of clearing redness and unclogging pores. However, I have been getting a lot of really small bumps on my face since I started using this. I recently switched toners as well, hopefully it's the toner's fault, because I absolutely love the scent of this wash and the clean feel after washing my face!!! It also makes my face feel tighter and has wonderful oil control. =]

I love the cooling effect this cleanser gives my skin! I like to use it on my face in the morning; I feel like it wakes me up! It's gentle but very effective. I love neutrogena and I will continue buying their products, including this cleanser.

I started using this product and right away I noticed less redness. I does have a bit of a burning/cooling sensation. I thought it to be a more cooling sensation. I would recommend this to anyone with acne prone skin, but definitely not dry skin. I also use moisturizer afterward to counteract the overdryness.

I ran out of my usual facial cleanser and my son had this laying around so I grabbed it and started to wash my face! My eyes literally started tearing right up! My face hurt so bad! OMG! I tried to wash it off as soon as I could. I was so shocked becasue the bottle says Redness Relief, you would think this would be soothing and the green tube made me feel like this was safe to use. My son never complained about it but teenagers seem to be more resilient I guess. Although my son just told me he prefers the Gel Cleanser from this particular line. He said the Gel Cleanser doesn't burn the skin and it does relieve his redness.

I purchased this a while back when I was on the hunt for a cleanser that will clean my face.
I was hesitant to buy this because my skin is very sensitive to all acne fighting medications in cleansers. I wanted to try this still. It didn't break me out, but it made my oily skin super dry and it started peeling! It did reduce some redness though.
The product did do what it claims, hence the 3 lippies, but it is just an okay product.
Will not repurchase again.

This cleanser saved my face. I developed acne along my jaw (red painful spots). I also was starting to see it creep up to my cheeks and eventually forehead. I had never had major acne before (the odd white bumps and black heads - but nothing like this). And my face looked red and bothered.
Enter Neutrogena Acne Wash Redness Soothing Cream Cleanser.
After the first (yes first!) use I noticed the acne was less inflamed. I thought I was imagining it because nothing is supposed to work straight away. Then the next day I saw the red acne further disappearing. And in a week's time ALL the acne is gone.
Here's how I use it: I wet my face and massage it in and then I leave it on as though it were a mask (to give the salicylic acid a chance to work) and then I rinse it off. In the shower I use a hot wash cloth to take it off.
Here's what the product is like: it's a thick cream and smells herbal/medicinal (I love that smell - many don't); it tingles in a good minty way that leaves my skin feeling soothed; it is not at all drying (I don't follow with a moisturizer - in the summer months I have normal/combination skin).
This cleanser is now a permanent in my daily skin care. I would recommend this product because it really did everything it said it would do.

A very nice product, however the title fools you: it really does not soothe redness. Other than that, my skin smelt amazing, felt soft and smooth, and best of all, helped me with my acne. Yes, I still get pimples (it's not like this product is a miracle worker) but my pimples are significantly smaller and my breakouts are pretty small compared to how they used to be. This cleanser even battles my horrid breakouts from my period!
I use the regular oil free acne wash to cleanse in the morning, and use the redness soothing at night, and I am quite pleased with the outcome. However, drugstore cleansers do have a reputation that I've noticed; your skin gets so used to a specific cleanser that when you go off of it, your skin goes NUTS! This is why I recommend to all neutrogena users to switch up your acne wash as much as possible. It's really not the cleansers fault. :)
Happy shopping!

I bought this product hoping to combat my redness and acne at the same time, sounded like it was going to be a heaven sent product for my needs. I used this product in the morning and a different cleanser at night. When I first used it immediately I was like "what the.....!!!" I was not expecting the mild burning (some call it cooling sensation) but, for me it was more of a mild burning. This product has menthol in it which causes that sensation and actually left my face looking even redder than before I cleansed. Menthol is not recommended for those with rosacea or sensitive skin, so I find it puzzling why Neutrogena would choose to use menthol in a redness soothing product. Since this product actually made my redness worse, I will absolutely not be repurchasing.
