I bought this based on the excellent reviews here (bought online as I am so busy - big mistake!). It is far too expensive, far too pale - you can barely detect it on my lips - and breaks off too easily. It is also very drying indeed. I had high hopes for this. It is ludicrously expensive and you are paying for the name. Don't waste your money and buy a much cheaper brand. This is great if you want a lipliner which absolutely does not show. Suffice it to say, I would definitely not buy again.

Next to Chanel's Nude lipliner, this is the most beautiful lipliner I have ever seen. If you like a nude or pale lip, this is perfect. This even looks great alone for a gorgeous nude matte lip. Never discontinue...this is a staple in my arsenal.

I love this lip liner it is absolutely gorgeous, the only problem which is a big problem is that it brakes off so easily and I have to resharpen it over and over and over again. So sadly due to that fact, I will not repurchase because for the price we have to pay here in Canada it's not worth it for the simple fact it does not last a nano second!
I really did love everything about it other than that. If it was a bit cheaper i would probably ignore its quick lifespan and repurchase but sadly it just isn't so. My annabelle neutral lipliners are a way better in-expensive alternative that have outstanding lasting power

PinkSoFoxy described this perfectly :) Tonga is a light nude neutral pink with soft shimmer. This is a great color to use with light shades of gloss and lipstick. MAC has discontinued my HG Cremestick Pearl lipliners, and I'm happy to say Tonga looks very similar to the color "Gingerroot", except it's the tiniest bit warmer. Smooth texture and long-wearing. A very nice liner.

I recently purchased NARS Lip liner in Tonga, which is a brandnew color. It's a pinky-nude shade with subtle frost. I'm a big fan of the nude mouth look and I'm always in search of that HG lip liner. Many lip liners are either too orangey or too dark for me but this NARS Tonga is lighter than most and gives my lips a more natural defined look. It's fairly longlasting, I only had to re-apply it once after lunch. It's a delighfully smooth formula that glides on soft and creamy. This is a great shade for summer but since it is quite a light shade do keep in mind that it is very subtle, it's a very natural looking lip liner. It's perfect for Lustre and Frost lipsticks such as MAC Pretty Please, Tanarama or any other light frosty shades. However, If you are wanting a good lip liner for a nude mouth that is more bold...MAC Stripdown is a definite HG Lip liner.
