Hmm...I don't really know what to think of this lipstick. Not the worst on the market but for some reason I just didn't like it!
First of all, the color...looks red. To me it looks more like a chestnut brown with a lot of red to it and a yellow undertones. I can't believe people say it's a Russian Red dupe...
The thing that I just hate about this lipstick is that I get annoyed every time I wear it: I am not sure what undertones it has! Sometimes they are yellow, most of the time chestnut, sometimes both and it bugs me a lot. I just don't like the color that much.
An other point is the transfer...holy cow! The transfer is ridiculous. The other day I was drinking a beer straight from the can as usual and the golden can looked like I have been kissing a vampire who just had his meal. Or like my periods where coming out from the wrong side, yes that gross. It gets everywhere, I ruined one of my favorite scarves.
But I have to admit that it has a texture that I love, very creamy and moisturizing, it feels like a lip-balm, you know that healthy-pharmacy-kind-of-lip-balm. And if you are looking for a not so ordinary/true "red" then maybe you might like this one. I might wear it at night for an easy casual look so I don't have to use my expensive stuff (you know, a casual evening not worth using a good Ruby Woo) but as long as I am concerned, this is a lipstick I am not buying again, not this shade.

Pros:
-pretty cheap
-smooth
-long-lasting when it comes to the amount in the tube (bought it 6 months ago, use it every day, haven't used the 2/3 of the amount)
Cons:
-doesn't last long
-poor variety of colors (a lot of sparkling shades that make you look older)
-dries your lips out (not so much, but still)
-packaging quality could've been better
And the WORST: it actually clumps up at the corners of your mouth, which I hate.
I don't think I will buy this again.

Pros:
Good colour payoff.
Lasts longer than an average lipstick.
Nice smell.
Cons:
A little dark, not quite a modern red and more of a classic red.
Slightly drying.
Stains a little too.
I was looking for a bright red lipstick, and at Shoppers, all rimmel products were on sale for 2/$7 (yay!). I got a red lipgloss as well.
I'm not gonna lie – I'm obsessed with red lipstick. I have a warm undertone, and red lipstick looks really good on me. I had this really ancient, crappy one I found in my basement a while back. It sucked, but I can't be mad at it. It was super old, and I don't even know where it had been! (now looking back I realize it was a big mistake to use that)
Anyway, this red lipstick is UH-MA-ZING! It goes on so smoothly, and has really good holding power! It's a really pretty colour, doesn't smell weird, and was dirt cheap! I don't know the regular price, but it can't be that expensive. I occasionally like to dab on a bit of the red lip gloss to give some sheen, but I don't overdo the lipgloss. This lipstick is awesome! I wish I could give it 6 lippies (haha)
Compliments:). I was wearing this, mascara, bronzer to contour, blackbrown pencil for my black brows and Chanel PL B10 ( I now have no troubles in application and like it more ). No one has said anything about the l/s or shade instead it drew attention to my eyes. "Omg, your eyes are piercing black!" They are not quite but close, very dark brown. Wearable daytime warm red, good pigmentation, not drying. If this was longerlasting, it would be perfect:/.
Rimmel Alarm is my first red lipstick and has inspired me to write my first review. I am often very disappointed when I purchase make up on impulse at the supermarket - and consequently I had no idea I would love this so much. I didn't know I could wear bright lipstick so well. It brightens my often dull olive skin, it is incredibly moisturising even though I often suffer from dry lips and it doesn't feather at all on me. I adore its scent too - it smells like bubble gum to me. In a 9-5 work day, I need to touch up about 3 times - and that seems reasonable to me. I am usually a 'high end' cosmetic girl and I'm not sure any other Rimmel products will work for me, but I will keep an eye out for any other lipsticks in this range. So excited that I can "pull off" red lipstick!
I liked the color... goes on well.. no feathering... nice fire engine red... but I didnt like the scent of the lipstick at all... if not for the smell .. I would continue using it.. The color is almost identical to MAC`s Russian Red.. The packaging befits the price. No issues there.
Super pigmented and lasts long. It's a semi-matte finish. Suits my medium/olive skin tone.
Best worn with minimal eye makeup and perfect foundation, because this is the kind of red lipstick that really draws attention and can highlight any redness, acne, pigmentation.
You might want to use a lip brush to apply. I find it best to blot, re-apply and blot again.
I took one lippie off because of the candy odour. If it weren't for this, this would be HG material.
But, for $4, this red lipstick by Rimmel is quite impressive!
