I am... on the fence about this product. I bought the white shade because I needed to use it for theatrical and mixing purposes. (Since white obviously doesn't match my NC25 skin, I won't review this fdtn for its color.) The texture is exactly what the name implies, a thick liquid similar to a light lotion.
PROS: This foundation has great pigmentation (Illmasqua products usually do, so that's to be expected) and it has a slightly dewy finish, which looks more natural than matte foundations. It applies easily with both fingers, sponges or a brush, and it's fairly buildable in case you need to stipple some more foundation on areas that need more coverage. It photographs BEAUTIFULLY, so no complaints there!
Also, I really liked the squeezey bottle with the tiny opening, very sanitary and keeps me from using too much product. You also get a LOT of product (especially since it's so pigmented), so I doubt I will ever need to buy another bottle.
CONS: I don't know if it's because of my primer or my naturally oily skin, but this foundation fades in about 4 hrs on me!! It fades first from my nose and then outwards toward my cheeks. I might have to try it with a different primer (one that has better oil control than what I have now) to see if that helps. Also, it may be because I notice the fading more when I wear white, since my natural skin tone looks very obvious when it peeks through.
Also, the price hurts. While not as expensive as brands like Dior, Illamasqua is far from cheap.
Overall, it's a lovely, versatile product with great coverage, but strangely not long-lasting on my oily skin. I will keep trying to make it work.

Illamasqua's shade ranges are very good for people in the pale and dark end of the spectrum - it also has a white so you can mix your own shade. The 115 is the lightest shade except white, and is so much lighter than NC15 in MAC Studio Fix Fluid. If you are a bit darker than NC15, or a NC20, the next lightest shade 120 would be better. If you are just a bit paler than NC15, let's say NC10, this in 115 will still be too pale for you.
The coverage is amazing, and the foundation is very thick for being a liquid, but not thick enough to be a cream. The best way to apply it is with a damp sponge in thin layers, do not try a stippling brush or flat foundation brush. It dries faster than most foundations I have tried. A kabuki might work if you really buff it in, but with this method, flakes on the skin will show more.
I don't recommend this if you are dry, not even if you are a little dry. This will make flakes show, even flakes you didn't even know you had. If you use a sponge it will be better, but I still don't recommend this for dry skin.
I personally can't use it as I have dry skin, but if you have oily or normal skin and want really a full coverage foundation or concealer, you can try this.

And another liquid foundation to try!
I have to admit...this one was an impulse buy. I went to a sephora farther from where I live and BEHOLD they actually carried this line there! Of course I went nuts and immediately rushed to the foundations. Much to my dismay they didnt carry the skin base, but ahh i had heard good things about the rich liquid foundation as well.
Boom bought it.
Alright well this is an interesting foundation, you definitely cannot simply slap it on. But I dont mind a bit more work if it looks and wears well.
Pros
-DAMN can this stuff cover. I dont wear it on the daily because its too heavy. But i do use it as a concealer every day :D For a night out this stuff is perfect!
-If you DO wanna wear it on the daily, you can do so by sheering it out with some lotion. I do this, and it STILL has excellent coverage even sheered out!
-Lovely undertones!
-I love the scent, vanilla :D
-Staying power is pretty good
-I like the finish on this stuff, not all matte but not a super shiny finish either!
-So concentrated that it will last me forever!
Cons
-Sticky strange texture, makes it difficult to apply if you dont correctly blend and buff in!
-this stuff clings to patchiness like theres no tomorrow!
All in all id reccomend if you need heavy coverage or a good liquid concealer :D

AMAZING but being discontinued =(. This product is super pigmented. It's the most pigmented foundation I have ever purchased, in fact, it is almost similar to a liquid concealer. A little bit really does go a long way. I also like how it looks on the skin. Beautiful!

Illamasqua Rich Liquid foundation, you just need a tiny amount to achieve that flawless Red Carpet look and if you desire for a bit lighter coverage, you could mix it with a blob of moisturizer and apply it using either a duo fiber, flat top or a dense kabuki brush.
In terms of staying power, Illamasqua Rich Liquid foundation keeps me looking flawless up to 4 hours and after which it starts to look a bit caked and shiny in appearance and needs a bit of dusting with a face powder to achieve the matt look. By the way, my face produces more oil during summers and this could also add to my one in many reasons for getting a shiny face within a few hours.
The only one thing that I have to keep in mind before using the Rich Liquid foundation is to exfoliate my skin properly and then use a good moisturizer so that it helps the foundation to glide well, without clinging onto the rough patches on my skin. I would definitely recommend this to people who like a semi matt to matt finish with full coverage (skip this if you are into tinted moisturizers/light foundations).

I love this foundation. Dare I say, almost HG status? This foundation is absolutely one of the fullest coverages you can find. It covers my tattoos very well. It's thick and you only need the tiniest bit of product to cover your entire face. It contains no SPF and photographs wonderfully. See my profile for photos of me wearing this. I purchased this at Sephora, which has a limited selection of shades. I apply this using my fingers or a dense brush like Sigma's F82 or Sonia Kashuk's flat top Buffer Brush. Synthetic bristles work best for me because it makes it easier to spread because it's thick and the hairs don't absorb product. It wears well and lasts with a primer and a setting powder on top. The foundation is sticky, has a satin finish and definitely requires setting. It feels light weight, doesn't settle into fine lines, pores or wrinkles. Doesn't feel like I am wearing makeup. It isn't transfer resistant, so be wary. It has a slight hint of vanilla scent that doesn't linger. It's pretty far down on the ingredients list. It doesn't break me out. I would definitely repurchase this foundation.

UPDATE: I went back to the shop to lament with the lovely MUA that I couldn't get this product to work. She really had no other ideas to offer me unfortunately, so I decided to see if mixing with another foundation would work as I had read on a couple of blogs it helped. I mised it with MAC Face and Body and I really like it. I used more than just by itself, but the texture made it easy to blend (used a stippling brush to try and erase pores as suggested on a YT tute) yet retained the coverage. It has lasted really well - not as amazingly as I was hoping, but I do have combination skin so clearly it is a bit too oily about the T-zone for any foundation to last particularly well.
I'm not sure I'd buy this again, as I would prefer something I didn't have to custom blend, but I have increased my overall rating from 2 to 4.
.........
I wish I loved this. I really do. The colour match is phenomenal, the packaging is good, and although pricey you use such a small amount I can see it lasting ages. I love the texture and as much as I love my Mac Face and Body, I wanted a heavier foundation.
I read lots of reviews before purchasing this, and they are so varied I decided to get it anyway. I really wish I hadn't. I have tried applying with a buffing brush, over primer and without primer. With fingers with and without primer. I have also tried it with two different primers. I just cannot get this to work for me.
Initially, applying with fingers worked best for me, and it looks gorgeous. It also dries so I wouldn't necessarily need a powder. However, it settles into my pores so quickly, and it just looks horrible. Funnily enough, if I apply primer first, it seems to settle much much quicker - the primer should allow me to smooth it over the pores but this just doesn't seem to happen. Also over primer, although it is easier to apply, it's almost like my skin becomes too smooth and the foundation has nothing to adhere to, so it slides about. Hence, unattractive smears that I try my best to blend but just end up getting pushed into the pores on my face.
I haven't noticed it accentuated any dry bits, but maybe I don't have any. All I know is that a foundation that looks awful after an hour is no good to me. We can't return make up in the UK so I will be selling it on. So upset.

I got this before skin base was released. When initially applied, looks flawless. Definitely needs contouring and blusher because it looks weirdly plastic until you do something to it. The texture is a little tough to apply as it doesn't smooth over the skin but rather you need to work at and literally drag it over your skin to apply it. I always use bare minimum of foundation that I can get away with for comfort. Despite this, the foundation transferred with the barest of touches. I also found it caked in creases around the nose and corner of mouth. One thing I will say is that it looks great in photos. My skin looked absolutely flawless wearing this to my cousin's wedding and I got loads of compliments. At present I would say no to buying this again because skin base is a lot more comfortable to wear but who knows when I'd need to buy something to make me look remotely photogenic?

This foundation looks amazing when first applied but due to my oily skin it does not stay that way. Even when applying smashbox anti shine which I usually can't fault this foundation still transfers onto anything that touches it. Such a shame as initial results are great! I shall try mixing it with my Estée Lauder double wear and see if that helps at all ... Good luck ...

I love this stuff! I ordered shade RE150 from England as Sephora doesn't ship Illamasqua products to Canada. After applying moisturizer, I apply a tiny dot to each area of my face, blending well with my fingers. I use a concealer brush over any spots - no concealer needed; this foundation means what it says about "full coverage." I press into any areas of large pores and set with the tiniest bit of MUFE HD or Clinique loose powder. Perfection! The finish lasts and lasts on my combo skin giving me a clean, radiant look that I haven't found with anything else.
Do choose a darker shade than you think you'll need as the shades run light and peachy. Since most foundations are way too yellow for my MAC NW20 skin, the peachy undertone was a happy surprise.
Edited to add: I forgot to mention that this foundation is not suitable for dry skin as it will magnify any dry or flaky patches. Even my combo skin needs to be well moisturized for it to work flawlessly. If I have any flakiness, I only use it as a concealer. It does cover better than 90% of the concealers I've tried!

I have very pale skin, and after the Benefit Playstick in Jax was discontinued, I moved onto the Rich Liquid foundation from Illamasqua. I use RF115, and it matches my skin tone excellently. The coverage is very heavy and does take a while to blend into the skin. I find that the Illamasqua Blusher Brush 1 is the best brush to apply the foundation with. However, I have noticed that the foundation has a tendency to slip quite easily, and will magnify any dry patches on the skin, so those with dry skin should avoid this product.
The product smells heavenly, and it comes in a plastic semi-squeezable tube that is convinient for carrying it around in ones handbag. The only downside to this packaging is that it is somewhat a struggle to see how much of the product is left.
Due to the wonderful colour match that hardly any high end brands offer, I will definitely be purchasing more of this foundation. xo

PROS:
1. Amazing color range for ubber pale people just like me.
2. Fullest coverage ever.
3. No SPF so no flashing back in pictures = photographs nicely.
4. Nice packaging that is purse-friendly (plastic transparent bottle that closes securely)
5. A little goes a long way, could last for ages.
6. Pretty good staying power (ok, you could not keep in three weeks on your skin without needing touch-ups but overall it can handle a busy endless day.. or night!)
CONS:
1. Does set so you need to work with it quickly.
2. Sets into fine lines and dry patches.
3. Needs to be used with a good moisturizer and primer underneath.
4. Needs to be cut with some other product to make it easier to work with.
5. Take a bit of time to get used to working with it.
6. Takes some time to apply, it's not going to be your fastest foundation job ever.
7. Thick consistency, although the smell is great, not overpowering and does not linger for a while so if you don't like scented products, I don't think this one will disturb you any longer than the application while.
TIPS:
1. Mix it with a bit of a mattifying primer to avoid the shine this might give to slightly oilier skin or with a bit of a pearlescent or sheer one if your skin is on the dry side and make it easier to apply (for reference if you don't have any primer and don't know where to start looking for one, Illamasqua has a Sheer primer -drier skin- and a Mattifying one which is the one I use and love)
2. Use a very dense, flat brush (Sigma F80 for reference).
3. Don't dot it all over your face at the same it, it will set and get unblendable. Work section by section adding product to another section once the previous one is done (first dot some on you forehead and blend it, then dot a bit on your nose and upper lip, blend it, then move on to the chin... you know, little by little, do not dot it all over your face.)
3. Work it into the skin, work it, work it, and keep working it for a bit of time since it takes a bit of work to behave on your skin, if you don't keep working it it will just sit on top of your skin.
4. Prior to powdering, especially if your skin is normal to dry, pat a damp sponge all over your face. It will take away some of the foundation's cakeyness.
4. After you've done this and if you will powder on top, after powdering, proceed again to pat a damp sponge over your face for a more natural result.
I really like it for shoots, videos or endless nights when I know there's going to be quite a bit of photo taking action. That's when I use it for my foundation and concealer.
To conceal blemishes daily it works brilliantly as a concealer, you might use a lighter coverage foundation and then use this as a concealer. Much better than my MUFE Full Cover and I really love that one. But this foundation is even better.
If you do decide to purchase it and try it out, give it sometime before returning it, it takes a while until you get to know which is the way that you need to work with it for your particular skin type as for normal to dry skin you have to proceed differently than you'd need to for oily and very oil skin.
It is a very good product if you find out how to handle it :)
(A bit of a low rating due to its price and the time it takes to figure out how to make it work for your skin and also the time it takes to be applied.. and nice looking!)
And REMEMBER, this is NOT a water-based foundation from what I know, it is oil based so people witch acné-prone skin or acné might prefer to stay away for it or to just ask for a sample and test it out before purchasing it. Don't be afraid of the naughty and rude girls we sometimes found at the counters, it is your RIGHT to ask for a sample, there is nothing wrong with that unless you ask for it rudly and hit the girl at the counter which I don't really think you are going to do.
Test it first for a few hours and if you are ok, proceed to give it a longer try some other day. You may not want to use it everyday cause maybe daily use could cause break-outs but if your skin is fine with it for a little while you can use it for special occasions when you want to have a beautiful photo-friendly polished look.
I have acne-prone skin and can use it on week-ends if I go out somewhere without any problem. But you do however need to test it on your own skin.

I'm not going to bash this foundation - because I do love Illimasqua ,
But this foundation just wasn't right for me.
My skin is very dry, red, and the texture is a little rough ,
I mosturized and used a primer ,
This foundation seemed very watery...
It kind of just sat on top of my skin,
And felt very slippery almost. My skin showed through horribly, and the coverage was not very good at all . I used a teeny amount at first because it claims to have very
Full coverage .. But when I tried to build, it still did not cover like I had expected.
I'm sad that it didn't work out for me, because the color matched perfectly .
I could see this foundation working great for someone who already has nice/decent
skin, and doesn't need to cover up as much. I returned it a Sephora and got my money back.

I go through phases with this foundation. If your skin is dry, stay clear as it will cling to any dry patches. If your skin is very oily, then it will be shiny after about an hour. When you initially put it on it will look amazing though.
That aside, if your skin is normal enough and you want full coverage, this is your man. I've never seen coverage like it and it's great as a concealer. Looks brilliant in photos.
You can put it on with a foundation brush or your fingers. It needs to be buffed in like you would with a cream foundation.
The best brushes to do this with are the Illamasqua highlighting brush or the ELF Studio powder brush. You basically need something very dense and preferably flat topped to really buff it in.
All in all, once you don't have very dry or very oily skin, it's a great foundation to have. I'd recommend it for drag over Dermablend or MAC Full coverage.

I read the reviews for this foundation prior to purchase and I was very saddened by the low ratings, as I had been looking forward to purchasing it, to the point where I almost didn't buy it. I went into the store in Liverpool's Metquater and was matched to shade 150 (I'm usually a NC20) the man was very honest with me and explained that it is difficult to blend because of the matte finish and fast drying time. He also made a point of explaining not to bother trying to blend with a normal foundation brush as it is not cut out for the job and a duo fiber (mac 186) is far to delicate to tackle this foundation. I have found the best method of application to be using a small eyeshadow blending brush to cover imperfections and dark circles first then to apply to the whole face with a flat top blusher brush leaves me with a perfectly flawless, seemlessly blended base and with a touch of powder to the t-zone, the foundation is perfect. I feel if you are looking for something to just 'slap on' and go this is not for you, if you are willing to put the extra effort in, this foundation is worth every penny an probably more.

Okay, I bought this foundation in RF105 out of sheer desperation, I am ghostly, and tend to look rather ashen. My skin has pink undertones, whereas most foundations have yellow or beige. That combined with my pallor makes buying make up very VERY difficult!
This foundation is very thick and chalky, and extremely drying. However, after some moping, resignation and half-arsed experimentation... :) mix a pea sized amount with a slightly larger amount of Garnier BB cream in Light. Just on the back of your hand, and apply. Magic! It glides on, blends nicely, doesn't emphasise any dryness. Finish it off with some Maybelline powder and vóile! It has incredible staying power! I ice and inline skate pretty intesively, jumps and spins and (a lot) of falling, but my face hasn't melted off since I started doing this! I feel so much happier with it, and really hope my review helps :)

To start off I was given the wrong colour and it was very yellow on my face however i did give it a go and tried to make it work.
It was really really thick and really hard to spread evenly and blend. It also made dry areas really noticeable.
Without a setting powder it was really sticky but when I tried using a setting powder it dragged the foundation and made it look uneven and cakey.
I loved the smell and the coverage it gave. I loved the packaging too!
But because of how thick the foundation was it was so hard to squeeze out!

As a red head I cannot find a foundation that matches my skintone. So many times I've sat at the counters in department stores have girls put makeup on me only to realise when I put it on at home that my face is yellow or orange. The woman at the channel counter actually recommended I mix talcum powder with my finishing powder to 'lighten' up my foundation. Or buy my makeup in japan. Often they tell me I should use a bronzer or fake tan. As if I should change my entire skin colour to match their makeup. One woman tried to convince me I should try to match the colour of my freckles (wut!?).
With this one, I am actually the third lightest shade. Which is incredible! NEVER have I picked a shade in any range that wasn't the very palest colour. I have also never been able to buy a full coverage makeup!
For day wear I use a tiny pea sized amount and apply it with a round BLUSH brush, not a flat foundation one. This lets you sort of buff it away and spread it very thinly. It is VERY thick, and if you don't apply it in small amounts you can get a very thick obvious mask effect. I also use it as a concealer. I apply it thicker over my cheekbones wear my freckles are most prominent, and it fades them out nicely. Also if you are applying a thicker amount - you really need a powder to set it.
That said, unless you are after super coverage or a dramatic night time look - I wouldn't recommend it to people with 'normal' skin tones since there are other options that are easier to apply, better for your skin etc.
But for red heads and the super pale - this is a GODSEND.

I didn't like this, personally. This was the first high end foundation I used (thankfully I didn't pay full price) and I was really disappointed. This is definitely a full-coverage foundation. It's really thick, almost like a concealer consistency so I tried to mix it with moisturiser to thin it out but it just wouldn't mix properly for some reason. Very difficult to blend as it's quite a dry consistency so ends up being streaky. Accentuated dry patches I didn't even know I had.
I used shade 115, a very pale, quite yellow based shade for reference.
I do like the fact there's a very wide range of shades for all skin tones though - on the offchance it works for you, you'll probably find a good match.
The only use I found for it was thickening my usual foundation when I needed a little more coverage than usual. I think it would work better as a concealer personally. 1 lippy for the wide range of shades. Swapped it away.

This was my first Illamasqua product, so I was really pleased that this is such an excellent foundation. I originally bought this to use as a concealer because I'd heard about how much of a full-coverage it provides, but I made a mistake of buying a shade a bit too light to use alone (RF 115) but doing so has actually been a blessing!! I find that majority of my foundations (except for Nars in 'Siberia' ) are a little too dark or pink for me so I decided to experiment and began mixing a bit of them with Rich Liquid Foundation, and found that it makes for a perfect match. The consistency is so thick that it reminds me of concealer in a squeezy tube. Because of this, I would never wear it alone, yet mixing it with E.L Double Wear (an already full coverage foundation) it looks surprisingly very natural and I haven't had any issues with masky/cakiness. Also, because my skin has been pretty crappy as of late I like wearing heavier foundation so this is perfect to mix with regular ones to provide that little bit more coverage needed. I have trouble using this with a foundation brush, but I find that with a beauty-blender sponge this applies and blends flawlessly into my skin. Absolutely love this one; another foundation that's a keeper.
