I needed a sunscreen for winter time because my moisturizer didn't have SPF protection. This was perfect as that it was water-light, oil-free fluid for the skin that absorbs easily and isn't at all greasy (my biggest pet peeve about sunscreen). I would have liked it better if it had higher SPF protection and didn't cost so much (hence the 4 not 5 lipsticks).
bought this as a substitue for cdlm sunscreen. it is only spf15, and i really wish it were higher because this stuff is great (that's why i only gave it a 4). it's a very watery lotion, oil-free, good for face application. it has an odd smell, though, but that fades. it's about half the price of cdlm ($31us for 1oz, vs. $60 for same, although cdlm is spf18).
MUA users say there is a version available in asia with a higher spf, so i may try that next time instead. otherwise, i will probably buy this again, unless i can find something better with a higher spf. this is great for everyday wear. no breakouts, no itchies, no splotches.
*Update* according to lancome's website, this is being discontinued anyway. blah. so i either find a new one, find the mythical spf50, or go back to cdlm.
active ingredients are octocrylene, octyle salicylate, and avobenzone.
another update 8/03: as this ages, it gets VERY thick, so it's ease of application diminishes. just fyi. also, be wary of applying too much, it can cause irritation. not the best quality in a sunscreen. continued >>
