this is my fave beach spray.
I have PM awapuhi texure /Alterna bamboo/
L'anza beach sparay etc
but all made my hair dry and matte finished.
Philip B maui wowie dosen't dry out my hair
add shine and soft wave and volume.
simetime I use it as make volume my hair.
This is a great mist to use to create some body and texture to hair. It has a beachy, tropical, salty-ocean type of a smell. I rarely use styling products so sometimes I just use this on my skin instead, for the scent. It's about $20, so it's not cheap, but it's worth it.
Pros:
- It smells AMAZING!!!! I wish I could get the smell on a perfume :-D
- It makes my super thin hair much bigger when I spray it in dry hair.
- Again the smell ! It reminds me of summer <3
Cons:
- Unfortunately it feels like it dries the hair
- the prize
I'll buy it again if it comes on sale. continued >>
I wanted to try a surf spray for the beachy, messy look of my hair. This product delivers, but honestly , I havenīt tried any other surf spray like Bumble&Bumble for example. The reason why I choose this over other sprays is the fact, that it was reviewed as "not drying". The last thing I need is a styling spray, that dries out my hair. And it is not drying at all, instead of the sea salt in it. It has light oils in it, but is far from greasy on your hair. The oils counteract the drying effect of the sea salt.
It smells like a beach holiday, truly. You are instantly reminded of beach, sea-water and sun.
It leaves wavy hair, but no perfect beach-hair. My hair is naturally something inbetween wavy and straight and I have fine hair, but much hair. The expectations should not be too high, because letīs not fool ourselves, any spray can never get you the same beach look as a curling iron can.But I hate any curling irons, because they eventually destroy the hair. So, this is the closest thing to a beach look I can archieve.
But it adds texture, gives a tousled look and you surely can get an undone look with this spray. It doesnīt last all day, but I refuse to use hairspray or something else to fix it.
Maybe for people with naturally more wavy or curly hair, this product can really go all the way to a perfect beach look. continued >>

This smells so amaaaaaaazing! and I have to admit it was one of the reasons that attracted me to buying it because it smelt so darn good. I don't know how to explain it but it has a beachy, tropical smell that isn't over powering and strong. Even my boyfriend commented on how good my hair smelt after using it and he's not one to notice things. Anyways, the beach mist itself is the best salt spray I've used to date and the most expensive. I love that it can transform my poker straight hair into effortless beachy waves in a few sprays. No need to bother with curling. Also, the main plus for me is that it doesn't dry out my hair like other salt sprays as those caused my hair to end up in a tangled dry mess. My hair still feels soft after using the mist, and it just gives me enough tousled texture and volume to work with to create a sexy bedhead look. For my fine hair, this mist does not weigh it down and feels ultra light and non-sticky. The bottle is pretty, and the colour of the mist is a luminous blue which is attractive. Philip B is a luxurious brand that uses high quality pure botanicals and essential oils, so there are no nasty cheap chemicals or silicones which is great for people who wish to steer clear. However, this is reflected in the price and this bottle does not come cheap at Ģ22 for 150ml, but for me, I'm willing to invest in using good quality products on my hair. If it works, it works! I have not tried the bumble & bumble surf spray so cannot compare the two. Maybe I will after this bottle finishes, as that has a lot of hype. continued >>
Gosh this stuff is amazing. I used bumble and bumbles surf spray until it started making my hair feel like straw so i tried this at a whim having been a fan of other philip b products and i fell in love. I'm on my third bottle and both me and my boyfriend are fans. It really does do what it says and gives the hair a great carefree texture and light hold, gives waves amazing sexy body and for the boy, bulks up his medium length hair and makes it messy and piecy without the mess of wax, pomade or pastes. It smells great and the nozzle sprays amazing. Very fine mist no squirts or anything like that.
Definitely the best surf spray I've tried. Unlike Bumble and bumble, this one doesn't mattify or dry out my hair. Plus, the smell is so wonderful.
Gives me soft, sexy, full-bodied locks.
EDIT: I'm giving this 5 lippies. I can use this every day, and it never makes my hair greasy. My hair just looks ten times better when I use this spray.
I looooove Philip B products!
This is one of the best texture sprays I've tried, and I've tried a lot. I have naturally wavy, thick hair. I had been using mouse when letting my hair air dry but I hate the crunchy feeling that gets left behind. I've tried other sea salt sprays as well, but they always dried my hair out and left them looking dirty then I wanted. This provides texture and softness without drying my hair. I spray this on after I towed dry my hair and as my hair dries, it "waves' nicely and feels SO soft. Even the next day it feels so soft. On the down side, this doesn't really eliminate all frizz, but it def. tames it and I still feel the need to wash my hair reapply the next day - my hair is pretty flat after sleeping on it. Overall, I would recommend this product for anyone looking for the "messy" look and something that doesn't dry hair out. I will repurchase this again.

I loved this product. It smelled like a tropical beach and it gave my hair nice volume without any nasty buildup. I loved that this product gave me texture with no cones or proteins. It did not dry my hair at all. I dryed my hair at the roots with a round brush then I took my damp hair and clipped the roots to stand them up (2 inch section on the tops and sides) then took 4 drops of argan oil and 4 drops of safflower oil rubbed in my palms and oiled the damp hair from the ears down and let my hair dry with clips in. When dry I removed the clips and finger combed my hair out and had silky, beachy, sexy hair.
