I was very disappointed with this foundation. I loved the shade "nude" on me (very yellow-based). The packaging is really lovely. I also loved the way it applied and looked at first, but unfortunately it just did not last like that. After 2-3 hours it was breaking up around my nose and mouth and just not looking good. I thought I had found my perfect foundation! Oh well, the search continues.

Hi makeupalley this is my first review. I am an nc25 all year round, unless ofcorse if i get some sun i can probably get to nc30. I have a light-medium complexion with very strong yellow undertones and i found that this foundation in Nude was a very close match for my nc25 skintone it has the perfect yellow undertones for my skin. I have been through so many drugstore foundations and ALL of them have been PINK! i have never tried any department store foundations yet but i am thinking about trying clinique because this foundation by boots lifting and firming is just okay in my opinion. Im young 20 years old i dont have wrinkles lol but I do have dry skin so i figured this lifting and firming foundation would be more moisturizing and it is but i dont know why this foundation makes dry patches more noticable but without this foundation on my face i have NO dry patches. Weird. Maybe i just havent found the perfect moisturizer to apply on my face before i apply this foundation. If anyone knows of any face moisturizer that is great for dry patches please share with me. I also apply this foundation with my clean hands because i felt that with a damp sponge the finish was powdery and i also used the e.l.f. powder brush but the finish was also powdery and i dont like using foundation brushes. So for me the best way was with my hands and i get a natural finish. This is why i think this foundation is just okay. I am going to continue using this foundation for now. My face is clear almost always, this foundation gives light to medium coverage. This foundation has no scent to it, ive been using it for about three weeks maybe 3x's a week and my face has had no breakouts. I dont really wear makeup often just when im going out to dinner, or when i have some redness and when i wear it its only on my face for about 6hours tops. I felt it looks the exact same throughout the whole day from when i first apply it. The only thing about this foundation that i love is that its the only foundation i have been able to find at a drugstore (Target) with yellow tones in it. The foundation is not bad, so i would try it if you have yellow undertones. Everyones skin is different. If anyone has this problem with dry patches and have founda a solution that helps TELL ME. Thanks<3 continued >>

This foundation wears pretty well, feels much more expensive than it is. It is medium coverage and can be built up. I have combo skin and find that when my skin is on the dry side, it clings a little but its not too bad. If you have normal/oily skin this would probably wear beautifully on you. It doesn't feel too heavy but it did break me out so I had to stop using it. I was using shade Nude for my NC25 skin, which was one shade two light but I like to contour a lot so it evened it out overall and matches.

This is a decent foundation but nothing special. Its not very heavy coverage (light-medium) which is what I was looking for! I also cant wear it because the lightest shade is still too dark for me (im nc5-nc15) : ( Oh well! The hunt continues......

I have eczema and for the past month I have had the worst break out on my face... ever. I was constantly peeling and looking red... so red, that my NC45 Mac Studio Fix which is extremely yellow wasn't hiding my imperfections.
After seeing this foundation on ebay for a under £4 (yes, including postage) i thought I'd give it a try. I was torn between the Boots No.7 Stay Perfect and this but due to having dry skin I chose this... and I have never looked back.....
So because I was buying onlne, I didn't know what colour would suit me. I am a weird colour being half Filippino and half Ghanaian so I'm on the lighter side of dark. I went to my local Boots only to find that they only went up to shade 35 Almond which was too light. Finding one review online, an NC44 girl chose shade 45 Walnut so i went for it.
Comparing this to my NC45 they are very alike except this is LESS yellow which is fine as sometimes I looked very orange while wearing it. This foundation has a runnier consistency so I see how people from NC42 to NC45 can use it as its less thick and will show more skin.
Using this covered up the weird discolouration from my eczema, the reddish tones from rashes and they grey dullness from around my eyes. I did add some concealer but I always do, as I always look tired without it. The colour match for me is very good, in any light my skin looks lke skin, just better and without an odd cast of orange or looking like a mask. Due to this foundation being thinner it means you have to apply a whole lot before it looks cakey. It does come with a pump and 1 pump is usually enough, 1.5 if your going out and want more coverage.
The finish on this is a DREAM for my skin. Not once did my skin feel dry or tight, only supple and satin smooth - velvety almost. This is the HG foundation for winter in terms of skin dryness, I do not have to worry. Hasn't given me any spot or worse rashes so is great for sensitive skin.
For some reason (maybe due to eczema) my face is sightly lighter than my neck so I also bought this in shade 50 Truffle (comparable to an NW45) and mix in a tiny amount to try and balance out myy colours and it works great.
I suggest everyone at least TRY out this foundation, go to a Boots (a larger one to see the full range of shades) and buy online just to try it out, that way if you hate it, you wouldn't have wasted £15.

I have this in Vanilla. This isn't that great for dry skin. Probably best for oily skin. Its finish on me is the same as L'Oreal True Match in W3, which I found as blendable, long-wearing, good color match but it makes my tiny bumps and dry bits more pronounced. Semi-matte finish I think. I have used this over different silicone based primers, some different moisturizers, applied with different brushes and my hands and I'm not wowed by any result. I don't know, I was hoping for a lot based on reviews but my Revlon Colorstay, Neutrogena HealthySkin, Covergirl Natureluxe, and Wet N Wild Tinted Moisturizer look so much more flawless than Boots Lifting and Firming. WIth those it doesn't even look like I'm wearing foundation but with Boots it looks like I've caked a bunch on even if I haven't. I do however really love the pump. I wish all foundations had a clear pump bottle but sadly a lot don't.

I have been using this product for a week now, and I absolutely adore it. I am shade 45 (walnut); for reference, I am NC42 in Mac, yellow undertones, combination oily and visible acne scars on my cheeks. I don't have perfect skin by any means but I also don't want to cake on foundation. This product gives amazing buildable coverage. I can go into many different lighting and my face remains constant. When fellow male friends comment on how my skin "radiates" (yes, that was his terminology), I would take that as a good sign. I would highly recommend this foundation to everyone!

All I can say is where has this amazing foundation been all this time!!! I am really loving this foundation. It gives off a nice satin finish/matte-but not flat. I am 26 years old with very oily skin with occasional breakouts. Unfortunately my target does not have testers for this foundation so I literally had to take it out of the box and pull a quick swatch test ( I know...I feel bad for doing that but I wanted to get the right match!) I ended up testing the Almond-which was a little too light....so walnut was the winner. Just for reference, the shade Walnut is great for those with really olive tanned skin and Almond seems to be more for those with a slight tan. I will be using this for as long as I can and I hope that they never discontinue this foundation! The packaging is very nice as well and looks high end! I apply this with a stippling brush...works great! Give it a try!

I purchased this product because it got such great reviews here and at first I really liked it. The texture is soft, blendable, gives enough coverage and overall a really good foundation. The only problem is the color range. The color I got was nude and it was quite yellow. I mean I want yellow undertones in my foundation but i don't want my foundation to be overly yellow. (my skintone would be a light medium but obvious yellow) That's my only problem, maybe one day I'll try the shade lighter to nude. But anyways I still use it. I use it by mixing it in with bb cream which I realllly like or I'll mix it into a foundation that has too much pink in it. So for those purposes I really like it. Would I repurchase for those purposes... not sure since the product is slightly expensive for a drugstore product. So all in all, the main flaw in this product is the color range.

Almost made HG drugstore foundation status except it didn't 100% control my oily t-zone but definitely impressed with this foundation. Unlike some of the drugstore foundation fav like Revlon Colorstay, texture is not as liquidy which can be very messy since Colorstay doesn't come w/a pump and this one does. Due to the creamy texture, I just use my fingers to apply, so smooth, blends like a dream and finishes matte. Coverage can be medium to full, doesn't feel dry, feels moisturizing w/out greasy feeling, last up to 8 hrs. I purchased this in 20 Blonde and I'm around NC30, looked gray at initial application but blends in beautifully with my skintone and gives natural finish. I'm so glad I finally decided to try this out though I don't think it'll work for my combo skin in the summer time.

This product really is great! It's incredibly bendable paired with my e.l.f foundation brush, its staying power isn't bad (without primer), and the coverage is wonderful! I personally have acne and acne scaring and this does a great job at covering them. At times this foundation can seem a bit cakey, I just recommend applying a moisturizer before and not going over board with how much you apply and always remember to blend. The only horrible thing about this product is the color range.... okay I’m going to be honest I am really pale and have always been the lightest shade in every foundation and BB cream. I bought the porcelain shade in this foundation and it is way to dark and it is very obvious on my face it almost makes me look orange. If they decided to bring out lighter shades I would defiantly repurchase it... but since they most likely won't I guess I’m going to have to search for a more pale person friendly foundation.

I was hoping this would be a replacement for my Colorstay but this foundation is not my cup of tea. $15 is already a little steep for a "drugstore" foundation and their color range is not great. Even the lightest shade had a lot of yellow undertone to it. It is medium coverage and covers well but I wasn't impressed with the staying power. Also, it's not transfer resistant. Overall, it wasn't for me.

I love this foundation! Best drugstore foundation that I've ever tried. It has medium coverage and stays on for many hours, especially if you use it with a primer or setting powder. It's kinda hard choosing the right shade for you, because most colors are very orange and might not look good on everyone. Mine is just a little darker than my skin color, but I like it because it looks like I have a natural tan. I love the packaging--it comes with a pump and it's very easy to get the product out. The reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because I think Boots No. 7 could really do some improvement on their color selection.

Silky smooth and fragrance free. Perfect for sensitive skin and has SPF. The bottle is cute and is a nice design for a drugstore foundation. I love it. This and MAC Face and Body are my favorite foundations.

I love absolutely everything about this foundation... EXCEPT that it doesn't have an option that matches my skin tone well enough. I hope they expand their line of foundations and add more than like 5 or 6 skin tone varieties. Other than that, this foundation is wonderful. Great coverage, stays in place and doesn't get shiny, sweat off, sticky, cakey, reveal pores, etc. I used a whole bottle of this foundation without primer and got away with it- lots of compliments on how my complexion looked as well.
About $14-$15 at Target or Target online. Trust me that you HAVE to give this foundation a try. It is HE with a LE ticket price.

Easy to work with you have enough time to blend it out before it drys, covers pretty well, feels nice on the skin, doesn't get oily, yellow undertone, last for about 8 or so hours needs to be set with powder though and the bottle is fantastic. I been really liking this foundation and you could pick it up at Target for $15.

So Happy I finally tried this!!! This is only sold at target and I always have to check if 1 of 3 local targets has this in stock. Every Target was sold out except one store said it had " limited stock" so I went to target and was excited I found the last bottle in New Ivory. I also bought my current favorite foundation called Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation by Boots in New Ivory which was the last one in stock also! so if your target is always out of stock it really helps to check on target's website to see if your local store or another close target has it in stock. I may just start ordering it online from Target.
Very Good Foundation that is worth trying! This may be my new favorite but I won't know for sure until the Florida weather gets Hot! Today was in the 70s so this foundation looked Perfect for hours and I didn't need powder. I am very Happy with this. This is a really good quality foundation.
I love how it's imported from France and the bottle is really nice with a pump!
***Update March 4, 2012. I still have this same bottle and I actually like it better then the Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation by Boots ! I have been going back and forth between these two foundations on most days but on events and when I will be out and about I prefer this foundation so hopefully this foundation will still look awesome when the weather gets Hot!

NC25 Chinese, oily skin w/ reddish undertones, early 30s.
If you've seen any of my reviews, I've decided to overhaul my entire skincare and makeup routines. For the past 10 years, I consistantly wore MAC NC25 and Era Classified airbrush spray Y3. NC25 = tad orange, just never sat well on my skin and Y3 = airbrushing is the best finish I can find but still too light and the Y5 = just too dark. (going to swap these)
I'm randomly shopping at Target and WTF... there is a SA in the cosmetic aisle giving someone a makeover? What is this? So for kicks and giggles, I learn she specifically is using the Boots line and I'm like "game on, let's match".
Matched to "Nude" and swatched, this definitely is btwn Y3 and Y5 so color makes me happy. This is a medium dense liquid so even w/out primer, it's evening out the skin tone and best part, covering my redness.
I've got a few more brands I want to checkout (think Temptu airbrushing), but this is the default for now. I may have to change my tagline to "Boots Nude, Chinese"... hahaha.
*Update 12/17/11: Needs primer to keep the the foundation on for a full day.

This is definitely one of the best foundations I've tried! It has a creamy consistency and blends extremely well, I would say it's a medium coverage foundation. I use a Beauty blender sponge I got from Sonia Kashuk for a flawless finish. This foundation is a little bit more pricey than some drugstore foundations but it is worth the extra few dollars. I have combo/oily skin and as long as I use primer (Bare Escentuals Prime TIme) and a dusting of powder over (Sephora mineral pressed powder or Bare Minerals matte) it lasts pretty long. I use the color 15 Nude and it is a great match for my light to medium skin tone. I don't really know how much it "lifts and firms" since I don't have many fine lines or anything but the look it gives is really nice and I highly recommend!

Good grief- this is truly the BEST foundation I have EVER used! Ive pretty much tried them all and so far my favourites were chantecaille future skin and La mer cream foundation. Not anymore! This is better than both of those high end ones put together- who would have thought?- certainly not me. I would say this foundation offers medium coverage and it gives a luminous, dewy effect. It reminds me a little of the revlon skin lights line that has since been discontinued. Anyway, it truly does lift and firm and for those who are concerned with diminishing the appearance of fine lines- you need this foundation- it literally takes years off. My skin appears plumper, glowy, lifted and luminous when I wear this and I actually can't stop looking at myself in the mirror (H has started to call me magpie because I am drawn to any shiny surface lol).
Bear in mind that my skin is combination and very dry on the cheek area so I am not sure how someone would find this foundation if their skin was super oily as you definitely do not get a matte effect from this product. I do find that I have to use a little powder on my nose to eliminate the shine. It also appears very light going on and it doesn't feel like you are wearing a heavy base which I also like- I like my skin to be able to breathe. Ive found it also wears very well and doesn't budge for the entire day which is another reason I am very impressed. I actually feel a little embarrassed that I've been such a makeup snob for the past few years and have always stayed away from Boots own brand as I always presumed that high end and more expensive is better. I admit it, I was wrong- you CAN get superb results from cheaper brands and this product is a prime example of how a medium range brand can completely out-perform their high end equivalents. If you want to look younger, with a dewy, fresh and beautiful complexion buy this product. You won't be disappointed :)
