I am always happy with John Frieda products. I'll be honest and say I don't use this every time i blowdry my hair or heat style it. But when I do use it I know my hair is being protected and nourished becuase of this. It has a lovely smell. Be cautious to spray far enough from your hair, I've drenched my hair one time because I sprayed too closely. I would want to try a different brand after my current bottle but I will definitely repurchase in the future.
I agree with the other reviewer who cannot understand the negative reviews. Over a year ago, my drugstore was out of stock of the Tresemme heat spray, so I bought this on a whim. My hair is very thin, fine, wavy, and frizzy. Over a year later, the health of my hair is enough to tell me how much better this product is than Tresemme! I've literally been through bottles of this spray, I spray it liberally through my hair before blow-drying and again before flat-ironing, and it does a wonderful job of protecting it. As a side note, I use a split end cream on my ends before and after blow-drying as well. I've actually been blow-drying and flat ironing my hair even more then usual the past year, and my hair is still in great shape. After about 5 months, my ends finally needed a trim. When I used Tresemme, my hair was dry and in terrible shape by the second month after a haircut. Also, I hated the smell of the Tresemme, it left that chemical hairspray smell in my hair. This smells so much nicer.

I have wavy-to-curly longish hair that is truly difficult to get and keep straight. I absolutely cannot believe the negative reviews on this. Has never left my hair "crunchy"......maybe someone is using too much product? I find that it only takes a few squirts, comb it through, and it does the job....better than anything else I have found and simple to use!! I am able to straighten my hair even after wearing it curly for a day. Just a few squirts on dry hair and the flat iron equals straight and shiny hair. Definitely on my "keep buying" list.

After using the TRESemme Heat Tamer Protective Spray for a few years I decided to have a look around to see what else was out there in heat protected sprays and ended up buying this. I have used it for the last 6 months and at first thought it was great (plus it smelt wonderful). It felt a little stiff but felt like it was protecting my hair and held my heat styling for a long time. But after a while I noticed my hair became really stiff and crunchy (especially at the ends). I brushed this off, thinking it was just my S&C. But recently I went back to my TRESemme spray and WOW the difference was amazing This product is just way too drying in my opinion, I would not recommend!! continued >>
Like the tresseme heat tamer spray, I am not entirely convinced that this does anything different to my hair either. I use this anyways just for some type of protection rather than none. This is very affordable but again, I don't know if it really does anything cause I don't see a difference.
I have used several heat protection sprays, from GHD to V05, and i think this is the best one. It tames flyaways, and makes my hair feel glossy and shiny.
Only thing i hate is the nozzle. Why is it a spray gun type thing? I dont get it, is it a gimmick?? Id much prefer a bottle type spray!
I used this heat protect ant a few months ago and forgot to review it...because it was truly crap.
the packaging was the nicest thing about it...it didn't clog or cause over spray.
But product itself...bad it didn't protect my ends at all when I would straighten it...I tried making sure I sprayed enough...less and let it dry a bit..nope this fried my ends worse!
I like there new new line of shampoo and conditioner...but their heat protectant was horrible.
This product really didn't do much. I love John Frieda products, & I use a lot of products from this line & they all work amazingly....except for this product (total waste of money). I actually think this product dried my hair out, & it does contain a high amount of alcohol. It also doesn't feel like it really "protects" my hair. My hair felt more protected before I used this. In my opinion, this product is a waste of money. I will not repurchase. I bought Tresemme's heat tamer spray, & it doesn't contain alcohol which is a major plus. I will update on how that one works out. continued >>

I really enjoy this product, however, i dont use this for its intended purpose (heat protectant). instead, i spray this all over my hair even if im not using heat on it because it tames my frizz! i find this to work just as well on my hair as a heavier serum and it doesnt weigh it down as a serum would! the only thing i dislike is the sprayer, it is good for the most part, but every now and then it will spray in a very thin jet in one section, so that requires a bit more combing through.
for reference, i have very thick, frizzy, wavy hair that is a few inches past my shoulders, and i use 10-15 spritzes all over and finger comb it though.
