After catching the infomercial advertising the DermaWand, I decided to give it a try.
At first I was using it to plump up a few wrinkles (frown lines) but noticed my skin became soft and smoother with the disappearance of cystic acne and nodules. So that alone is a major plus in my eyes.
As far as wrinkles go, I had already resigned myself to disappointment and decided to send it back for a refund before I even got it. So I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed a smoother texture with the lines on my forehead and my lips. I am a smoker, so while the smokers lines may not be gone I am happy with the results.
I also was happy to know that you can use your favorite moisturizer (I use Lancome Renergie Day, Night and Eye) and not be stuck using their brand. But I do have to say, the Lip XL is the best I have come across. Really is a lip plumper.
These results may be temporary but last for a few good hours (for wrinkles).
There are a few things that were aggravating but gave no cause for serious concern.
Using the Lip XL for the first time had an immediate result of chapped lips which has gone away after repeated usage.
I tried and did not like the PreFace serum. It felt way to dry and the bulb could not glide easily on your skin.
About an hour or two after my first usage of the DermaWand, I had some peeling
On the parts of my face and neck where I held the tip for over 3 seconds. Every time I raised the intensity level, I had peeling. Not bad, not painful and no cause for concern since the instructions do say that mild peeling can be expected.
The least concern is:
The zapping sound and feeling. Wasn't the worst I have heard and felt but I can see where this might be a turnoff.
The smell given off was noticeable but not downright horrible.
The packaging may seem outdated but not nasty (at least to me, that is).
I wish that the wand would have had an on/off switch.
The instruction DVD could have been put together better. It kind of reminded me of the infomercials from the lat 80's to mid 90's.
I would definitely purchase another if something happened to mine.
I have never used this but do use one like it called Lift Wand from Amazon..Its 80.00 and it is 20 watts verses 1.5 which is what Dermawand is i was told..I really like the Liftwand because it has more power to do the job faster and better i would think..My skin texture is looking better more plump after a few uses and cant wait to see what it does long term.Pores are smaller also.I wrote this review because a gal below said she wished there was a Dermawand that was stronger...Well there is on Amazon!..I bought mine from Exquisite Goods and heard they are the only authorized seller on Amazon for this device.
I have a lot to say about this device, so bare with me.
I have been using the Dermawand for about two months now. I bought it with scepticism from the 'As Seen on TV" store. I purchased an extended warranty with it just in case I didn't like it.
The packaging and the device itself is really out dated. It looks more like a sex toy then a beauty device. It does not feel sturdy or high tech. They really lose points for their lack lustre marketing structure as well.
I use the Dermawand morning and night for about two to three min. I make sure my face is clean and I use a facial oil to help it slide over the skin. I am currently using Demascus Rose Facial Oil, and I love it! I have also used Argon oil and plain old olive oil, both with great results.
I have noticed that my pores are slightly smaller. My blackheads are much smaller. I get hormonal acne and the Dermawand helps clear it faster. The blemishes almost always disappear before they have a chance to form a head. I notice a slight lifting effect, that is temporary. It will help you look more awake. The slight dermatitis that I have always had on my cheeks, that covers up easily with a little make up, is almost non existent. I don't have many wrinkles so I can't speak to its wrinkle fighting properties, but for all the other above reasons I think this is a great beauty tool.
Some words of caution:
I did take this on holidays with me to Australia and tried to use it with my power adaptor. I nearly tazzered myself on the lowest setting! So be cautious if you have a higher voltage of electricity in your area.
I tried using this over a high quality moisturizer with an SPF in it. I broke out the next day. So my guess is that it really penetrates the product into your skin. SPF is meant to sit on top of the skin. So don't use it with SPF.
I also tried it over make up with the same result. So it is really best to use this on clean skin with 'clean' products, unlike what is shown on the infomercial.
I find it is not as effective if you do not exfoliate regularly. I guess it can't penetrate layers of dead skin. So for optimal benefits, do exfoliate!
It does take a little time to work up to the highest setting. It took me just under two weeks to work up to level 9.
It also takes time to dedicate to the process, a few minutes each time. I don't mind this. Some might be bothered by that. But it is the same as exercise. You have to keep at it to see results and be consistent.
It does produce a smell. I don't mind the smell. But if you are sensitive you might not like it.
My device only came with one product. It is a gel that you are supposed to use with the wand. I used it once and kept having to apply it to keep using the wand because it kept drying out. That is when I tried using a facial oil and that worked much better for me. Now I only use it with a facial oil to cut down on time and fussing.
The price for this does not bother me because I am seeing benefits that I don't always see with pricey creams and serums. To me this is a money saver. Im using a $12 oil and have almost stopped with all other products. I could spend $150 easily in one trip to the cosmetic counter and be dissatisfied with half of it. So this is money well spent for me.
Over all I have seen improvement in the condition of my skin as a result of using the Dermawand. I was embarrassed to tell anyone that I bought it. My husband still doesn't know! A few people have commented on my glowing skin so I have started telling my friends about it.
Please do not laugh. I have one of the very first Dermawands and have been using it for the past 15 years. Loved it then and still love it. The recent infomercials had me take it back out after a few years of not using it. Why I stopped I guess life just took over and got too busy. I am 52 this year and the past 10 weeks of using the dermawand has made me feel foolish. I have seen such wonderful changes. Then yesterday it finally stopped working not because of having a damaged glass but my own fault The cord became loose, I guess I did not take good care when repacking it. Silly me a person should be more careful with something they love and works so well for so long.
I called about having it repaired and as expected the young man who picked up my call laughed. I was not looking for warranty LOL." They may not even have parts for a black handle style LOL" was his reply Just looking to see if I could send it for repair or ask if I should just purchase a new one.... A new one of course. So next on my list is add a dermawand to my wish list.
Great Product Trusted results a women's best friend. I am living proof. and 15 years of usage speaks for itself.
Thank you so much to Dermawand for all the years of faithful true results
Thank You again

I have read every site with reviews for the derma wand and would say appx 80% positive..however doesn't mean I believed them. But for 120 bucks which included shipping I thought what the heck...if it doesn't work it might at least make my skin abit brighter. I am someone who has done plastic surgery, fillers and botox. Well I plugged the derma wand in with no expectations and wow was I wrong.! The lines on my upper chest just about diminished and fine smokers lines on mouth darn near unnoticeable. while I won't say they are gone I will say it sure works in plumbing them up so they appear gone. I really truly didn't think this product would do anything but boy I was wrong. they say to use this daily which I will do and see how it continues to work but so far I am impressed. Great product to use even for those special events where u want to look good. highly recommend it.
I purchased my dermawand in November 2012. At least 5 times a week, 15 minutes daily I faithfully use it. I am a retired Chemistry teacher, and have made many observations about the product, its quality and capabilities.
First of all, 3 minutes twice daily does nothing. You might as well not even bother if you follow the directions given.
The product samples were very nice for treating my hands. For my face, they were a waste. The glass-tipped sensor always got all icked up, and had to be cleaned after regular use with alcohol to get rid of the sludge which hinders its effectiveness. NOWHERE does it state that this must be done.
I wash my face, and use a toner to clean off any residue. The skin is damp, and the dermawand works just fine.
The dermawand has reduced the very fine lines around my lips, and plumped them. It has reduced the redness leftover from my multiple laser surgeries for a port wine stain birthmark which I had done back in the 1990s. It has faded the scar that resulted when my son accidentally bumped the scab off postprocedure.
I have eliminated all but three skin tags from one side of my neck. Two on the other side are barely visible. The faint lines between my brows are faded, and I have no crows feet or facial lining.
I wish there was a model with twice the power. I have a residual scar and loose skin from the swelling of my neck due to an inflamed thyroid which was removed in 2011. The scar is faintly visible, but if the unit was more powerful it would have more successfully and completely eliminated the puckers in my neck and stretched skin from where my thyroid damaged it.
The only thing the unit cannot do for me is to stimulate collagen growth under my eyes, where there are hollows that began to appear after my thyroid surgery and worsened after I was diagnosed with cancer in June 2012. The darkness was eliminated, but I still have the hollows there.
If the manufacturers would design a higher powered unit, I would be delighted to have one. It is of my opinion that if I was not putting in the time every night after I shower, and just dinked around with this 6 minutes a day, it would do nothing. Significant change in the skin can only be accomplished at least by doubling or tripling its intensity.
As for products, I alternate between the Peter Thomas Roth line, and whatever I have on the dressing table--Roc, Booth (from Target), Loreal. I use the product AFTER I work with the dermawand.
I think there would be many more happier customers if this unit was more of a medical device and less of a massager.
If the makers decide to upgrade this product I for one would be delighted to participate in a study, or to buy another one. It is good, but there is a lot of room for improvement. I did not buy mine through their site--I paid about $60 for mine on Amazon, and for that price I most certainly got my money's worth. Hope this helps.
This has forsure made a big difference! I still get pimples but this really makes them go away much much faster. I never get that hideous cystic style acne or red marks forever. Make sure to keep this away from eyelids as several times I have woken up with massive puffy eyes from this.
This is very expensive but all in all I would forsure buy again
I have been using my Dermawand for a month now. I like it! I didn't expect miracles or expect lines to magically disappear, but what I did notice is that the texture of my skin has improved dramatically. My skin appears more dewy, I look more rested and bags under my eyes are much less noticeable. I use it twice a day with my own skin products (Shiseido-Benefiance line). What I did not like about the company is that they signed me up to receive their creams, etc. once a month. I did not ask for that. I was just informed that my first shipment of cream is on its way, so I will have to return it (my postage). I have cancelled the automated monthly shipment and hopefully will not see this happen again.
I am 53 years of age have fair skin and blue eyes and have been using the Dermawand for 7 weeks. To be perfectly honest I cannot see how you can burn your face with this product. I am more than happy with the results that I have noticed since I have started using the Dermawand. What I think people should remember is that it is not a magic wand and many of the lines on your face have been there for a number of years so I would not expect them to disappear within a few days or even weeks of using the product. What I have noticed is that my skin looks more radiant, feels more dewy and very smooth. I have also noticed a reduction in the very fine lines on my face. I have read a lot of reviews on this product and some that I have read seem incredibly dramatic to say the least. I use the Dermawand on number 9 for everywhere except my eyes. I have noticed my eyes seem more uplifted and with no puffiness or bagging under the eye. I use my usual day cream (Loreal Revitalift Laser x 3 - inexpensive) and spend approx 10 mins each morning doing all the bits on my face. My skin is not overly sensitive but certainly not as robust as some skin types. To date I have had no bad results only positive results. Just remember it took a long time to gather the lines and it will take consistent work to diminish them. Hope this helps.
I got Derma wand for Christmas and I used it three times now. The last time I used it was on Christmas Eve, I was too busy to use it again after that. On New Years Eve I came down with Shingles! On my face! The stinging pain from the Shingles feels a lot like the shocking feeling from the Derma wand. I can't help but worry that I brought on the Shingles by using this thing. I am not done with my 30 day warranty but reading about shingles, you can have lasting stinging sensations for about 3 months after having shingles. I don't think I want to keep this product, I'm a bit freaked out by it now. If anyone else has had this kind of reaction, please don't be shy and let us all know.
