I recently purchased this item due to the reviews online... It definitely makes an already waterproof mascara super waterproof/smudge resistant! However, it doesn't make a non-waterproof mascara waterproof but just smudge proof. Which is better than nothing. I usually coat my bare lashes and then apply mascara and then coat my eyelashes again with this Dr. Mascara fixer! It is also super hard to take off.. I have been on a somewhat organic/natural binge and have been using Extra Virgin Olive Oil.. and it takes forever to get this off.. Will definitely NOT be using Dr. Mascara Fixer on a daily basis, just when I am out all day, going to an evening event, or outdoor sport activities.. when I need that SUPER WATERPROOF effect... Will probably use this more with my non-waterproof mascaras

When you use it a lot for eyelashes or for brows, the clear gel color of the mascara tends to darken with each use. So it looks super nasty and unsanitary D:

Is there anything better? My favorite mascara is not waterproof, so this product is a blessing! It is also very gentle; I have no problems with it despite my allergies. Finally, I find I have no problem removing it. I simply soak a cotton pad in my eye make-up remover and let it sit there for about half a minute; it comes right off! Great product!

LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!... Really helps mascara from flaking as well as eyelashes hold curl.. Nothing negative to say about this product.

Okay, at first I was a bit confused with the product, I originally thought it was something you put after mascara (which works too) but used as a lash primer it works wonders. This has been my favorite eyelash primer to date. It holds the curls throughout the day and it makes my mascaras smudge proof and water resistant. The downside though, it sometimes makes my eyelashes look too stiff and unnatural plus, it's friggin' hard to take off! Make sure to use oil-based makeup remover afterwards.

I like this mascara primer. It holds a curl very well, which is my #1 priority, Unfortunately, it does not really lengthen all that much that I've noticed and only thickens lashes slightly. It is clear and not white, so it's easy to apply mascara on top and not have to worry about covering up any white patches. I love that it comes in a squeezable tube and not a traditional mascara tube, so you can get every last bit out. The brush is a standard mascara brush, not the new plastic/rubbery brush. I think I prefer the Kanebo Kate Mascara Base to this one in terms of performance, but this one doesn't have fibres, so it's less likely to irritate my eyes.

I have been using this for years. It's by far the best mascara primer. I also use it to coat after my mascara and it won't smudge. It keeps my mascara on my eyelashes ALL DAY and i won't look like a racoon by night.

It's cheap, and the packaging lets u squeeze every bit of it. It lasts a long time, and it's as big (or bigger) than a mascara.

Again, I bought this after reading reviews off of MUA and I came back to give my own review. I really love this product so far~! I've been looking for my HG mascara but was never satisfied bc either they wouldnt give me enough volume, or it would come out looking clumpy or spider-y. I tried all different mascaras including the ones with fiber such as the fiberwig one, and the loreal one( with the white and black mascaras) and I didnt like them bc they would make my eyelashes look clumpy, and kinda messy bc of all the clumps. However, after putting this fixer on, even the mascara I had which gave me clumps (maybelline colossal volume express), looked super nice. I was actually pretty amazed. My eyelashes held their curl ( which was unusual bc i'm asian and my eyelashes go straight down- never hold their curl with mascara), and they actually looked full without being clumpy at all~!!!. I havent tested this out with other mascaras, but if this lets my mascara- which is usually clumpy, look this great, then im guessin i dont hafta find my hg mascara anymore bc this will make any mascara look great. I'm sorry im ravin about it so much but im just amazed with the results right now. I always thought I would have to sacrifice one for the other- either I get clumpy volume, or clean lashes but not so full.. love that it holds my curl too~!! :)

This works just like the famous Anna Sui primer that is clear and dries clear but is priced at only 1/3 of its expensive twin. It is the most amazing eyelash primer I've used and at this price? I would repurchase again and again. This is definitely HG material. I always get asked if I am wearing fake eyelashes when I am using this. Anothing that I like is that this is in a tube so i can squeeze every last bit and use it all up.

Truly awesome product! It's a great primer that coats your lashes making sure that your mascara is completely smudge proof, your lashes stay curled, amps up your volume and length and it's also a lash treatment with black sesame extracts that conditions your lashes! What more can you ask for? It does everything it's supposed to do, with the volume/length/curl i'm getting from this primer+mascara, I always get asked if my lashes are real!
Only available in asia however so I shall be getting this off ebay once I run out!

I think I've already went through a dozen tubes of this. My friend who has amazing lashes (almost falsies-like) recommended to me. Since this is about $10 or so in Korea I asked my mom to grab some for me on her trip (I live in Canada and can't get them here).

Any mascara that I use usually don't stay on my lashes but transfers to my lid and undereye area because I have very oily skin. This prevents smudging and flaking of mascara. It also waterproofs your mascara. It acts as a primer therefore lengthens and adds a bit of volume. But most important of all, it holds your curl!!!!!!!! After curling my lashes with shiseido curler, I apply this fixer and then applies my mascara (yet to find my HG....). It's similar to clarins mascara fixer but a lot better!!! It doesn't clump your lashes. I used to wear clarins, lancome, and shiseido mascara fixers before and I hated how it turns the blackness of my mascara into dull grey and sometimes clumps your lashes together. It would also weigh down my lashes (lancome especially). You won't find that problem with this fixer.

The cons are that it's almost impossible to find this in North America and it is a bit difficult to wash your mascara off (understandably so since this acts as waterproof).

I highly recommend this fixer!!
