This product pretty much saved my skin! I have sensitive, combination (dry chin/cheeks, oily-ish nose/forehead) but dehydrated skin, and since I live in a pretty dry climate, my skin gets brutally dry during our cold, long winters.
This is a thin white lotion that sinks into my skin almost instantly, even though I have to use a fair amount of this at once. It leaves my skin soft and almost plump-feeling (as opposed to tight!) My skin used to get progressively dryer throughout the day, but with this it stays wonderfully moisturized. Originally, I used this at night and in the mornings, but after a few weeks my skin has actually improved to the point where I only really need to use it at night. I will say that it sometimes felt a little heavy on my t-zone during the day, but I didn't get any breakouts from it (and I'm very prone to acne caused by product reactions.)
Simple products have been hit-and-miss for me in the past, but I find that this one works amazingly with my skin.
This is a light, unscented lotion. I have combination skin and this causes my face to break out. But I love it for my very dry, sensitive neck area. It really soothes and hydrates my neck so I will continue to purchase. Contains lactic acid, glycerin, vitamin B5 and skin soothers allantoin and bisabolol.
It was a huge let down for me. My sensitive skin is still very dry. It also clogged my pores
This moisturiser is just great. I have combination skin so I am a little bit hesitant to use moisturiser on my face - especially around my nose - as I can get really oily, really quickly. I was expecting the worst with this product. However, I was pleasantly surprised! It sank into my skin very quickly and didn't leave me feeling slimy, just nicely hydrated. It doesn't have a fragrance so it would be very good for sensitive skin. This is the only moisturiser I feel good using, I'll be sure to purchase again.
I love this moisturiser. It's not fancy but it does the job for my dehydrated, breakout-prone skin.
I use a prescription retinoid at night to treat acne and wrinkles, so my skin is dry and frequently flaky. I am also extremely sensitive to some cosmetic ingredients, especially anything that ends in ‘cone (dimethicone, trimethicone etc), which so many skincare products contain to give them that luxury, velvety feel but which just bring me out in painful cystic pimples. But this Simple moisturiser is rich enough to make my skin feel hydrated and fix the flakies, yet light enough not to irritate or block pores and it doesn’t contain any of the nasty chemicals that other ‘rich’ moisturisers contain, which can affect my skin. This never breaks me out.
It is a lightweight cream/lotion, with very little scent, which absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy feel. It doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything on my skin. It makes a great base for makeup and is also great for mixing with foundation to create a tinted moisturiser. The squeeze bottle is a decent size, and the product is easy to dispense. It’s also very cheap, which is a bonus! Love this stuff and will buy it as long as they make it.
I have finally found my HG night cream. I have dry, sensitive skin but it's usually "natural" ingredients that irritate my skin. For example, I've been using Night of Olay and Olay Active Hydrating cream for years, and neither their color nor rosy scent ever bothered me. Natural ingredients like mint, lavender and eucalyptus by contrast are horrid on my skin.
On that note, don't be decieved - this is NOT a natural product despite how the packaging looks. But that's why I chose it - it's a simple, unscented, creamy, gel-like basic moisturizer that I'd put in the same category as Olay or Neutrogena's basic lines. Except I like it much better than any of those. Here's why:
Packaging: I love that it's twice as much cream as most (4.2 oz) so I don't have to purchase as often. You flip the cap on the top and squeeze it out, and the top is flat so you can store it upside down when it gets low and use it all up, which you can't do with pumps.
Consistency: This is the best part. It's like a cross between a cream and a serum or gel, meaning it glides on smoothly and removes the tightness after cleansing.
How it feels: It definitely has a cooling effect, which usually really bothers my skin. But not this! It feels absolutely amazing - it's refreshing, like rinsing your face with water on a hot day. I don't have any stinging or tingling at all, it just feels cool on my skin where my previous moisturizer felt more warm, if that makes sense. The cooling effect is SO nice after a hot shower. (Although I'm really curious what it must be that stings so many other people. Hmmm.)
So. Perfect efficient package, perfect price (same as basic Olay/Neutrogena oz for oz), makes my face feel wonderful, and I wake up with nice soft skin. HG.
I was looking for a facial moisturizer that did NOT have sunscreen in it. My skin does not react well to sunscreen and nearly every ds face lotion has freaking sunscreen in it (as well as some other ingredients I am not so excited about). I love that it is free of all the yucky stuff that makes my skin freak out: perfumes, dyes, parabens ect.. One thing I wish someone would have told me though: this moisturizer has a "warming" or "tingling" sensation for a few minutes after you apply it. I am not sure what ingredient might cause this (I tried to check the ingredient list on the bottle, but to my dismay they were only written on the box which I had trashed. This is the reason I knocked a lippie for packaging). The sensation is mild, much like if you were using Noxzema or a mild astringent. It absorbs quickly and keeps my face soft without a greasy or tacky/sticky feeling. I really like it and now I want to try the face wash next.
I don't really know what all the bad reviews are about. I love this moisturizer and most moisturizers make me break out. This does not leave my skin feeling greasy at all and helps my makeup slide on like a dream. I just started using retin-a so we'll see how it works with that.
This burns my skin like crazy. If I can leave it on to get past the burning, it does seem to moisturize well enough. And it is not greasy at all. Obviously, there is something in this that I am sensitive to (lactic acid, maybe?), but I don't take that to mean it is a horrible product, just not one that works for me.
I bought it in a trial kit with the moisturizing face wash (which I love) and the cleansing wipes, which I have not tried yet. I am glad I did not buy a full size of this moisturizer.
I have dry, acne-prone skin, and this clogged my pores horribly. I've been battling with the aftereffects for over a month now. It's not very good as a moisturizer. It goes on well, sinks in really fast and my dry skin feels just as dry, as if I had not put anything on it. A few hours later, consistently, my usually dry skin would start to feel heavy and oily. I've varied the amount I put on, but it made no difference. Very bad experience with this moisturizer.
