This is a super gental cleanser that doesn't break me out but also doesn't dry out my skin. The only con is that it doesn't lather at all.

It pains me to say this - but I really dislike this product.
I purchased TBS Seaweed Purifying Facial Cleanser online - as this product is not for sale in Australian Body Shop stores.
It isn't effective at removing make up, and I feel that it leaves a film on my face after use.
I am contemplating purchasing the Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash, with the hope that it is more effective than the Cream Cleanser.
It is not sensitive skin friendly (I have dry to sensitive skin with a slightly oily T-zone).
The Seaweed Purifying Facial (cream) Cleanser retails for 7.99 GBP

The salesperson at the Body Shop advised me to buy this when I told her I had very oily skin. She asked if I get break outs and I told her no. I was going to buy the Tea Tree oil cleanser but she suggested this one instead as more appropriate for oily skin without pimples. She was wrong. If you have oily skin I would recommend the Tea Tree oil cleanser; it's actually not as drying as this one and doesn't have whatever it is that stings your eyes in it. My main objection to the seaweed cleanser is that if you get it into your eyes or if you have any kind of sore on your face this stuff will hurt like hell. The list of chemicals on the container is amazing. I find it hard to believe that huge list of chemicals can be good for your skin. And the Body Shop is supposed to be all natural! I noticed a number of complaints here that the Seaweed cleanser doesn't remove makeup well. I didn't find this. It won't remove eye makeup but I don't rely on a face cleanser to do that. I use baby oil.
As an aside I noticed that the Body shop seems to have fewer products on sale. The cosmetic line is also very reduced compared to years ago. The soap bars are much smaller than before and the prices are as high as ever. I've never been that keen on Body Shop stuff; a lot of hype about it's naturalness that doesn't really deliver.

I bought this to remove the muck off of my face that accumulates overnight, and as a second cleanser after I rinse off my oil cleanser. Thus, I had no expectations regarding its ability to remove makeup. I was hoping that being from this line it would really rinse off, the way my Clarisonic cream cleanser does, but it doesn't, and that's my biggest complaint. I apply wet and move around, and it feels like it's removing dirt as I wipe it all around my face. But, alas, when I try to rinse it just doesn't rinse off as well as the Clarisonic does. I think I just have to splurge and re-buy the Clarisonic cleanser.

I was reluctant to buy this after reading all these bad reviews but for me personally, this is the best cleanser I have tried in forever.
I don't expect it to remove my makeup (it's a very gentle cleanser) but I use it in the morning to get rid of any impurities that have built up over-night and to wash off the oil that has accumulated while I was sleeping and it does the job well. Also what I have noticed is that the cleanser really mattifies the skin without drying it out which is pretty amazing. I've noticed that it also has oil control properties and my skin doesn't get as oily during the day. The appearance of my skin has drastically improved and all the oil seeds on my forehead that I've always had have vanished (but this could be due to other changes I've made in my skincare routine)
For those who have combination skin (I have normal skin on my cheeks with a very oily T zone) I would definitely recommend this.

Bought this at a buy 2 get 1 free, so no complaints about price. The problem is how it has to be used.
I apply BB cream every day, and this cleanser in no way removes it, much less the grease and grime accumulated throughout the day. If I don't rinse it off, it leaves a sticky film upon swiping with a cotton ball or pad. It feels better with a rinse immediately thereafter.
Granted it does not leave your skin dry, but with Benzyl Alcohol being the 5th ingredient, it surely does strip away your natural moisture barrier.

Not a particularly effective cleanser. It fails to fully clean and seems to leave a film on my face. The packaging isn't the best either - more than once I've attempted to squeeze out some product only to have the bottle go flying out of my wet hands. Nice scent.

the good - doesn't break me out, isn't too drying, isn't too oily, generally comfortable to use, smells good.
the bad - doesn't really remove your make up well.
still, quite dependable and i'll repurchase if i can't find something better.

This cleanser is nothing special for me. I have combo/oily skin so I wanted to try this from the seaweed line to see if it delivers the purifying and mattifying qualities it advertises.
First off, the description of this cleanser says that it is oil and soap free and will effectively remove all the makeup, oil and dirt from your face. I find this to be - at best - minimally true if I am not wearing any make up. One time I hoped I could clean my face of a light application of powder, blush, bronzer and the cotton pad that I used for my toner afterwards told me otherwise. This face wash is not strong enough to be an effective "purifying" cleanser. On the other hand, because it is such a weak cleanser I suppose it is good for a quick rinse during the middle of the day or something if you want to freshen up.
This cleanser did not leave my face feeling soft and smooth either. Although because it does not strip your face of its oils, I can see that claim sort of true...not because of anything in the cleanser but rather because of the natural oils on your face remaining on your face...so much for a cleanser.
The bottle is also bad to get product out if you have less than half left but I think that would be complaining too much ;)

Just did a review on a toner that goes with this and anyway I love them both! They both seem to improve my skin and doesnt make my skin feel sensitive or sore which usually makes it break out. Takes makeup off well, you will need 2-3 goes with a cotton pad but I haven't found a cleanser yet where you can just use 1 pad to get it all off.

I loved the smell of this right off the bat. The scent is so fresh and delightful. The sales associate recommended this for me because I have combo skin and needed to control my acne. The first week or so it did wonders for my skin. It reduced my acne and made my skin so soft. But after that week.... breakout city. I don't know what happened but suddenly my face was one big zit.
I would definitely never repurchase this again. The only up side? The smell is fantastic! They should make this smell into a body butter.

I went into the body shop to get a rec for a product for clearing minor acne on combo skin. The SA rec'd this for me in a set of sample sizes. I haven't identified exactly which ingredient does it, but this breaks me out like mad. I'm thinking it's the algin and algae extracts in it.
For the first couple of days using it, it does do wonders for my skin. But after 2-3 days... I'm breakout/blemish city.
Sad, I wanted to love this. Would not repurchase.

I used this product for about six months and it kept me blemish free the whole time. My skin felt a little softer after using it but not anything drastic. The smell is really refreshing. The only thing that I didn't like about this cleanser is it didn't seem to wash off my makeup very well. I would buy this again if my skin started getting blemishes because it does a great job at preventing pimples :)

I have combo skin (really oily T-zone and itchy flaky skin around the edges, with mild acne). I've used everything, and until now, the Neutrogena Stress Control line was the only thing that would keep my acne in check, although it was terribly drying. This has completely cleared up the acne, cut down the oil, and restored moisture to the part of my face that needs it. I used this cleanser in conjunction with the toner and mattifying moisturizer. Believe it or not, this is my HG cleanser. I'm almost through the bottle and I will definitely be buying it again.

I use it in the morning where there is not much of a dirt on my face.
First I splash my face with warm water and a bit of gentle rubbing with water, pat it semi-dry with towel, then start applying a dime size amount, sometimes it's more than enough to cover my face, then I just massage massage massage about a min, the cleanser will dry off a bit, but that's ok, I think it's glueing the dirts to it.
then rinse it off with water, lots of water (I don't use cotton ball), believe it or not, my face's super clean! supple and a bit squeaky with a healthy radiance!
I used to just wipe it off with cotton ball, but it didn't make me feel cleansed at all.
Using water helps a lot and increases the effectiveness of the cleanser.
If you're wearing a make up, best to follow it up with seaweed deep cleansing facial wash after using this purifying facial cleanser. As this will only provide a light to mild cleansing.

I have a strange feeling for this cleanser. Like a love hate thing. This is not the most comfortable cleanser. It stings and numbs parts of my face when I apply it, my lips especially gets affected by the numbness every time. It does not really remove everything either, I wud say 95% of mu. I still have to followup with a rinse off foam cleanser in order to get all residue off my face. So in that sense, I do not like this. HOWEVER, before I started using this, I had a real bad case of acne boom on my jawline, small to big ones, all types, and it was UGLY. I did notice, after I started to use this cleanser, the acne eruptions subsided, and the small ones disappeared. The big ones are slowly going too. So seriously, I think the cleanser has some credit to it. Hence the love. I will probably rebuy this, since it is not that expensive and it does help my complexion. Just wish it did not sting and numb so much.

This product does NOT cleanse. After using it, I wipe my face with a face cloth and I can see my make up had transfered onto it - make up that should have been washed away by the cleanser. I use a toner and the cotton ball is covered with foundation (and not just traces of it). This thing does not remove natural oils and dirt from your face either - maybe that's why its non-drying to the skin - unfortunately that also means clogged pores for everyone who uses it. Save your money and try Burt's Radiance cleanser or Derma e's papaya and/or glycolic cleanser, which I've read great reviews on/removes everyday dirt and makeup, are around the same price, and natural.

I really wanted to like this product line. I have super oily skin and while it did cut some of the oil but it also broke my face out pretty badly. Thinking because I was at the 3rd month of my Clarisonic and that was breaking me out I changed the brush. All was well for about a week and then right back the breakouts.

I liked this product, it was really good for my combination skin. I felt that it stung a little when I put it on at first, but when I started using less of it, it became one of my new favourite products! I found it took a while to make sure all of it was completely removed, but then again, I have found this on many different products. The smell wasn't too strong, which I liked, and as it is lasting me a while, I feel that it was very good value for money. Will definitely buy it again.

I have oily skin, but a lot of cleansers tend to over-dry my skin and leave me with a peeling mess around my nose/cheeks. After using this product my complexion is a lot more matte, though it's certainly no miracle cure for those of us with oily skin. I do notice that after a long day at work, under hot/bright lights, that an oil blotting cloth would do me some good. I've been using it in conjunction with the nutriganics night cream and my skin looks better than it ever has.
