This is a hydrating foundation, so it is intended for dry skin, that needs extra moisture throughout the day. My skin is so dry right now that it burns (I'm using Retin-A), and it is so flaky - any rubbing or touching with fingers or a brush causes extra flakes. Having explained just how dry my skin is - I still got shiny around my nose with this product. However, it felt extremely comfortable on the rest of my face, something I have had a hard time finding. The colors run a bit dark/reddish/orange, but I got a close enough match. I should note that I would not use this everyday, only when my face is too dry to use anything else, and I don't need something longwearing.
I would not recommend this for anyone with Normal, Combination, or Oily skin. It would be great for Dry (not combination) and Mature+Dry skin types.
Oh yea, and for people who have a thing for pumps - this has one

It has good coverage on me and applies easily when used with sephora's base/primer. However I got this in summer and now its a tad too dark for me. Also it kind of looks orangey when I swatch it on my hand, but on my face after powder and everything looks alright.

This felt like Sephora's attempt to make Mac Face and Body. It had a very similar finish, albeit less coverage, once I put it on. Because it is so sheer, it didn't matter too much that I had a shade darker that I needed. But I did find it odd that the R formula, designated as "pink" or "NW", was very yellow. Just not a good buy.

I always look for a foundation that gives me a natural look, But this one made my face look very oily and just messy. . .Not very natural at all. .

I got this, like many of the other recent reviewers, on sale at Sephora. Do be warned; this is a hydrating, dewy foundation, so if you have oily skin, its intended function is somewhat lost on you.
I got this in the lightest, un-rosy shade, D20, which is a bit dark and yellow for me. I found the yellow undertones in the foundation to be a bit too pronounced to look like a truly natural skin tone and imparts a bit of a fake tan look if I go too heavy.
Like most "hydrating" foundations, it goes on feeling a bit tacky and you need to work it into the skin to get even coverage. It definitely feels like it's giving my skin more moisture (or at least not taking any out). I'd consider the coverage light and a half, and I never really "feel it" on my face. It doesn't look cakey or have an obvious texture.
My biggest gripe with this foundation is that it does little to even skin tone. It just tints the "normal" parts of my face yellow and does nothing to the red or dark areas. The result is quite spotty. After about 8 hours I can see it clinging to dry patches, redness showing through, and sparse, orange-ish coverage.
This isn't my favorite foundation, but it's my best option for now when I have a little tan or my skin feels extra dry.

I do have normal skin in the beginning of the day, but once I come home from an 7 hour day of school, my face starts feeling oily with this foundation. I do have P.E at school outside, so maybe this is the cause of it feeling so oily. When it starts to oil up, I just rub it off during the day. So the use of the foundation? Nothing. But, overall, if I wasn't going to school, it would be a good foundation, a bit oily at the end of the day on my cheeks, but I can live with that. I believe Sephora is discontinuing this product, so I got it for 8$.

There are alot of things I don't like about this foundation... It seems to emphasize any dry patches I have, and I find it difficult to blend without looking streaky. The staying power is mediocre at best, so you will absolutely need a setting powder. On the other hand, they have a wide variety of colors with undertones easily identifiable (D=yellow R=Red) so I was able to find a great color match. The coverage is relatively sheer but does a good job canceling out most redness...and it doesn't seem to aggravate my acne. For those two reasons I will likely purchase this foundation again despite it's shortcomings. I'm still working on my skincare routine, so hopefully once my skin is in better shape this will work better for me.

I have combination/dry skin and got this in D35 and my skin feels hydrated and I don't feel little dry patches in my cheeks anymore.
It doesn't last very long, but paired with a powder it works fine. I suggest using a primer, because I used a primer in store and it stayed longer than when I just use it with a powder at home.
The color matches me PERFECTLY which never happens with other foundations that I've tried and it's lightweight and goes on smoothly. Normally I feel like I'm caking on makeup and it's always kinda off in color and now, I remove my makeup and it doesn't seem like I was wearing much and I don't see a difference in color. I love it!
I noticed I had a tiny pimple on my lip but it looks like it's going away, I'm not sure if it has to do with this foundation or not, but we'll see.
Other than all that, love the foundation, recommend it for dry skin :]

i tried this foundation after my revlon liquid foundation ( which i loved very much) got over....but i dint realise that slowly but surely one by one pimples started coming on my face.....and now i had to visit a derm to get that fixed....and while my treatment is still going on..i had to go to a party and i dint have pimples then..just marks whihc i wanteed to cover...and everything is good..i look good that night..my skin shines after a few hours of putting it though....i come back and go to slepp...next day i find 2 -3 new pimples on my face....and thats the time i realised that maybe this product may be a part of the reason i am getting breakouts...i looked this review and i see a couple of reviews from people saying it does cause breakouts...am planning to go back and return it...

I decided to go to sephora and find a foundation because everytime I get a drugstore foundation I always get the wrong shade.. ;/ I originally wanted to get the MUFE one but it was twice as much, so i thought i would give this a try first. They matched me with shade D28 and it was perfect. This gives me great coverage and its easy to blend. I love the pump it always squirts out just the right amount. It also lasts the whole day. HG foundation so far and i love the price 20 bucks. I apply it with my studio tools foundation brush or my sonia kashuk skunk brush. Will definitely repurchase

This does seem to smooth however it has no staying power & doesn't give much coverage. It's kinda lame & there aren't many shades to choose from. continued >>

I went in Sephora today because I needed a new foundation. My skin changed to combination, so I wanted a foundation that wasn't too oily. The ladies matched me up with the Sephora Liquid foundation and I actually LOVED the foundation after she put it on...until a few hours later when I got home. Now I can barely notice that it's there. I am going to try it with a primer tomorrow with better hopes, but it definitely isn't a foundation I would buy again. It's great if you're just going to the mall then back home, but definitely not for a long day out. I wish it was better since I paid $20 for it, but I'll find a way to make good use for it.

This is terrible. Please, don't buy. It has NO coverage whatsoever. My face looked 10X better without it on. It is like oil. It doesn't blend, it sticks on your fingers, and it bunches up around your nose. Your face looks like it is covered in polka dots after applying. And if you want to apply powder, get ready for streaking. The worst foundation I've ever tried.

This foundation is definetly for dry skin. The firt time i used it was in the winter and left my skin looking great. large shade seletion which is a plus of course. The formula is very light AND is a light to medium coverage. But now the shade i got doesnt match its way to light and its like a tinted moisturizer and gives no color. il def. go back and get a darker color but overall this is was good for my dry skin :)

I recently bought this foundation because the price for it wasn't that bad. Sadly, when I put it on my face, it didn't cover much for me at all. This foundation provide a light coverage for me and did not cover much of my acne.

this was a great foundation. I have dry skin and this worked well.
I prefer this to MAC studio fix. Blends very well too.

I've only had this a short while and may decide to edit or update this review later. My main purpose for writing is to share info about color matching esp. because I always appreciate this info (esp. with Af-Am skin tones) in other reviews.
I've spent nearly four months looking for a new foundation after BBrown discontinued the one I've used for years. *That* foundation shade - Honey - is the absolutely exact match for my combination/mostlydry but sensitive skin. For what it may be worth, Sephora D33 has beat out MAC NC42/43 (Studio Fix, Studio Tech), BareEsc (never came close to a match but I like that tinted mineral veil), and MUFE HD micro 153 in terms of color match. Third place goes to MAC mineralizing liquid in NC42, but I'm not done testing the MUFE or other BBr formulas yet.
I found the D33 in the compact mineralizing foundation first. Color was good, but texture was just slightly cakey/dry-looking. Went back yesterday for hydrating formula. Turns out this D33 looks richer on my skin (more dimension, less flattening), though coverage is a bit sheer. Have decided to stick with this but layer with powder that offers more coverage (not nec. Sephora brand).
Sure hope this foundation doesn't make me break out, because it seems to have evolved into my go-to for the time being. I'm scared to commit to a product available primarily through this one chain store (discontinuations can turn a woman paranoid and committment-averse), but I'm getting tired of this whole foundation selection process.
Wish you could write review without "committing" to buy again, because I dunno yet. Right now, I'm happy enough.
UPDATE: Now I prefer the Sephora mattifying powder foundation applied over the BBrown Skin Foundation; the color and coverage combinations work well for me. Don't dislike this liquid foundation, but I am more likely to buy others before I buy liquid again.
