This stuff is great for my extremely acne prone skin. It cleans really well and after 2 nights of using it in a row I can see my pores getting cleaner. I don't use it all the time, mainly because I'm lazy, but have been 2-3 times a week for months and its great. You can use another cleaner after if you feel its greasy but you don't have to. And no break outs either way. I mostly use this when my skin is acting up or I wore a lot of makeup that day. I really wish it wasn't so expensive in Canada. But for $40 its really worth it because it works and lasts a long time. 1-1/2 pumps will do your entire face.

LOVE! i had used good old ponds cold cream since i was 15 and now 23 to take off my makeup every night and it really was amazing and effective, not to mention dirt cheap... however i felt it was getting too messy of a job at night and i like the idea of a cleansing oil.
I bought this 2 weeks ago because all other cleasning oils in ireland are either too hard to find and too expensive when you do, i like lancome, this was 23 euro and i dont find that price to be bad at all for me personally.
I pump two//three pumps of oil into my hand and massage all over my face and neck for about two or three minutes, then add a small amount of luke warm water to my hands and massge again for a minute and then rinse clean.
Its so effective, leaves skin feeling baby smooth, simple to use, smells devine, packaging is so practical and classic.
I love that like ponds, its main ingredient is mineral oil. Any old lady i know with fabulous skin has used a product that primarily composed of mineral oil. I have no beef with it at all. If you do then this is not for you.
EDIT: still using this and not even half way through yet, will definitly last 3 or more months at this rate which is great news. Still extremely effective and easy to use without any adverse effects. Im extremely impressed and love this!

Beware of the mineral oil in this product. I used this for a few days before I broke out into tiny red bumps that led to white heads. Lovely. I've got pretty hardy skin but this made a mess out of it. I know it's the MO because I tried plain MO as a pre cleanse in the past and had the same result. I had run out of MAC's cleanse off oil and tried this. What a mistake. I was thicker than the MAC and I never felt that it was rinsed away even though I followed up with another cleanser. Thankfully I was able to return it and bought my trusty MAC oil. I'll never stray again. Now I know I can't use anything with MO in it. I'll be reading the ingredient lists very closely from now on.

Love this product!! It makes my skin soft and removes mascara clean. No need for eye makeup remover. Apply to dry skin and it feels like oil, rinse with water with no oily feel!

I love this product. I was previously using Take The Day Off by Clinique but it started feeling too thick. I also found that it was not emulsifying and was leaving behind too much of a residue. So, I figured this was already an oil and therefore one stage ahead of TTDO, which definitely saves time (and water) when removing my makeup at night. It spreads nice and evenly, removes everything - and I do a full face of makeup including longwearing foundation+powder.
I have used other homemade oil cleansers such as olive oil, and a sunflower + castor oil blend as part of an OCM method, and I find that this is far superior. This is definitely thinner, spreads better and actually dissolves makeup, whereas I found the other oils just kinda softened the makeup a bit and allows you to move it around on your face rather than actually melting it. Also, those were a pain to wash off your face, whereas this rinses clean.
The key to using this and other oil makeup removers is to use enough. If you aren't using enough then there isnt enough to dissolve all your makeup and it ends up feeling thick. If it feels thick and like it isnt dissolving/washing off, try using more. Also, be sure to follow with a cleanser, as this is a makeup remover not a face wash.
The price is high but I do believe I need this. I had it since December, it's now July and I'm 1/4 finished. Just buy it when they have a gift with purchase. Also, if you're debating between this and the Creme Douceur, don't bother with that one - it doesn't remove eye makeup well and it burns eyes.

This cleansing oil is gentle and removes makeup - but I have one problem with it: it doesn´t really get rid of my mascara. I use Clinique High Impact Mascara, not only because it makes my lashes look perfectly nice, but also because even though it lasts all day without flaking or smudging, I never had problems removing it. But now, with this cleansing oil I´m left with black rings under my eyes. If I use a cleansing oil, I absolutely expect that it is able to remove even stubborn mascara - otherwise I could just use a simple cleansing milk. What I like a lot is the packaging -sturdy and clean and with a nice pump. But still, won´t buy again, I prefer MAC´s Cleansing Oil because it just cleanses better.

This is on the better side of average and the smell is divine, the best cleansing oil I have sniffed in my 20-kinds-of-cleansing-oil history. This is very thick and as a result you need to use more for it to spread across your face. There is a residue left so proper cleansing is necessary after this. The cleansing action is moderate and the pump is fantastic. I still rate Dermalogica, Boscia and Laura Mercier to be above this, since you need to use less and they just clean better. This is better than Nars, Bobbi Brown, Shu Uemura, MAC and I recommend this if you are a newish user. You will love the smell. I don't like the fact that its so thick, its the same consistency as olive oil.

I've been wanting to try the Shu Umera cleansing oil, but I keep passing the chance because of the price. Then, I discovered this less expensive alternative by Lancome. I just love it! It does a superb job at removing my makeup. I normally use a BB cream or Revlon's Colorstay foundation. Both are impossible to remove with regular foaming face washes. I also wear waterproof mascara. 2 squirts of the cleansing oil and a minute or 2 of gently massaging all over does the trick. You need to add a very small amount of water to emulsify the oil (makes it all milky) before rinsing off. There is absolutely no oily residue left behind. I don't even need to use an eye makeup remover anymore. It smells great as well. I will never go back to cleansing foams, creams, gels or wipes. This is the HG cleanser for me for sure.

Let me open by saying I am an oil (and balm) cleansing devotee. I LOVE oil cleansers. To be more specific, I love oil-based balms, oils, and cleansing creams -- in that order. My all-time favorite cleanser is Eve Lom, which is a cleansing balm. I adore everything about it BUT the price, which is oppressive and obsene. So I've been on a quest to find cleansers that can substitute (but never replace) it. What i love about Eve Lom is about how clean it rinses. It removes everything and even your wash cloth rinses completely clean. It takes off sunscreen (which I wear daily) and makeup perfectly. But this is not an Eve Lom review. That just gives you an idea of what I am looking for in a cleanser. Something that removes my sunscreen and full face of makeup while rinsing clean and not drying out my sensitive, dry skin. My favorite oil cleanser has been Babor's Hy-ol with the Sensitive Phytoactive. It rinses well and is a wonderful product. The only down side is using the two bottles. Plus, I like to mix up my cleansers from time to time -- always on the quest for the holy grail and I think it's fun that way. Plus I think my skin likes it when I alternate cleansers over time and don't use the same one for many months at a time. So I decided to try Lancome's oil cleanser during the Sephora FF sale. And I have to say I am very impressed with it. It is an excellent cleanser. I love the texture, how well it removes EVERYTHING. How it doesn't dry my skin. The packaging is great, too. It's pump is superior to other pumps. But what I loves the most is how it works. It is amazing stuff. For oil cleansers, I have used Shiseido's, Shu's (various ones from Shu), DHC's, Lumene's, MAC's, Bobbi Brown's, Lumene's and Babor's, and Lancome and Babor are by far my favorites. My least favorite is MAC's. I have not tried Origin's oil cleanser, so I do want to try it as well. But this Lancome gets 5 lipsticks. I'm already getting a backup. And it will remain a regular in my cleansing arsenal. My love of this product is causing me to want to check out and/or revisit other Lancome skin products. Lancome's Bi-facil, along with TheBalm Balm's Away, are my two favorite eye makeup removers. Lancome makes some really solid products, so I'm going to give their other skincare a closer look. But if you like oil cleansers, I cannot recommend this product enough.

I LOVE this product. I used to use Shu Uemura cleansing oil but since they discontinued that product in the US, I've been looking for an alternative. This product works just as well, as a nice smell (although it could be strong for some) and takes off waterproof mascara, which is FANTASTIC!!! For those who are breaking out, you may not be using it right. You can't just rub it on your face and then wash it off. You have to rub it on your face and then mix in some water with it and rub some more. It then foams up like a regular face wash. The price is alot better then Shu Uemura and works just as well so I'm sticking to this one for a long time!

Does a great job at removing foundation and eye makeup. I've also used the Mac Cleansing Oil prior to trying this and have to say that I prefer the Lancome one! Great product for deep cleansing.

I bought this in order to get a gift set for my mother. The smell can be a bit cloying but I have gotten used to it. It does help loosen the heavy duty makeup but I still follow up with another cleanser because I have acne-prone skin *shrugs*. I doubt I would repurchase this again because I am making the full switch to mineral makeup and that stuff doesn't require heavy duty cleansing step. Plus I am planning to use this one I purchased up or swap it if I noticed that my skin starts turning on me.

I had been reading many reviews on cleansing oils here on P'ville but didn't trust Shiseido or MAC for their skincare, as I have no past experience with this type of product or the skincare from those brands. When I read the reviews here about this cleansing oil and how it is very good for those of us with dry skin and I have used Lancome skincare in the past and do trust them, I thought I would give it a try. Since I am acne-prone, I would emulsify the oil with water as the directions state and then add Purity as the final step to ensure all the oils are removed from my skin. I purchased this from Nordies, ensuring that if I didn't like it, I could return it with no questions asked.
*Note about the packaging/dispenser: The oil does not "shoot" out of the pump if you are holding the container upright - you have to tip the container to the side and then pump the oil into your hand in order to ensure you don't waste any product.*
Now for the happiness! I LOVE this oil - I only need 2 pumps for my entire face and eyes, it smells wonderful, cleanses completely, removing every trace of makeup, including eye makeup, mascara lip color and eyeliner. All of this without stripping my sensitive skin or causing breakouts! I use this at night to remove my makeup, applying 2 pumps to my entire face and eyes and under my jawline, where I tend to get blackheads. I massage for maybe 2-3 minutes, mix in a little warm water to emulsify the oil into a milky cleanser, massage in and add 1 pump of Purity to make sure all the oil is removed, then I either use my Clarisonic Mia and rinse or just rinse well with warm water and that's it! The bottle is quite large and since so little is needed, it lasts me quite awhile. I am so happy I tried this product - I have already repurchased and will buy it again and again - hopefully Lancome will not discontinue it.

I wanted to try an oil cleanser for so long, so I went to the store and got this one. I absolutely love it ! I do have to say that I wasn't all that happy when I first got it. Now I know that's because I was using it the wrong way. I would put the oil on my face, massage and then rinse-off. I always got the feeling there was stil some oil left, needless to say my skin felt oily even the morning after. But then I read a review from a girl that said it was important to add some water and keep massaging, again adding water keep massaging. Now I sometimes "go back" 4 to 5 times, each time adding some more water. The oils dissolves much better this way and at the end I just rinse off what's left. No more oily feeling since I use this routine ! I love that this bottle has a pump, I use 2 pumps for my whole face so my bottle will last me a long time. Last but definitely not the least : the smell is heaven !!!

I got this as a sample and used it a few times and then abandoned it as I was happy with my gel cleanser and didn't feel the need for another step to remove my makeup. I liked it, I just didn't love it enough to be bothered, However, I recently changed my foundation, and the gel cleanser just wasn't cutting it in the makeup removal stakes, and I found this lying around. It did a really good job of removing my makeup, smells pleasant (quite light) and left my skin feeling really soft, clean but not tight/dry. I massage this in to my skin, especially concentrating around where I have blackheads etc, then scoop up a little water and massage that in (the mixture then emulsifies and changes from a clearish oil to a white milky lotion) and then rinse off. I haven't used it around my eyes. It seems to help exfoliate quite gently, helping to get rid of the flakies, and my sensitive combo skin has not reacted. I am not going to buy this because I am switching from Lancome/L'Oreal due to their animal testing policy, but it is a very nice product. Plus I have ordered Clinique's TTDO balm so when that arrives I will update with a comparison.
UPDATE: TTDO balm was more practical, as it is in a semi-solid form, which meant it doesn't drip off my fingers before it gets to my face, the way this can. However TTDO seriously dried out my skin. This seems to be much gentler, while removing my makeup just as efficiently as TTDO balm I find using oil cleansers do a better job of makeup removal than foaming or milk cleansers, and are quite enjoyable to use - it's kind of like giving yourself a mini facial. However, I still won't purchase for ethical reasons. Am experimenting with massaging in vaseline with water, then removing vaseline-makeup mixture with foaming cleanser which seems to be gentle and effective.
UPDATE: Skin is reacting to this as well - getting very dry and flakey and thickening. I think oil cleansers just don't agree with me. Downgrading to 2 stars. Still v enjoyable to use, love scent and massaging into skin, but bad results.

This product made me break out . cystic acne. It leaves oily feeling on the skin after use. Maybe this product doesn’t match with the combination skin. I have used a cleansing oil from KOSE before, and it never caused me such a problem.

I have never been a fan of L'oreal/Lancome and their do-nothing skincare products, I much prefer Lauder's superior antioxidant-rich formulas. That being said, I do love L'oreal for their superior and state-of-the-art La Roche Posay/Vichy sunscreens, and this one oil cleanser from Lancome. I use it to remove my water-resistant SPF and it works beautifully. Nice smell too, not that that matters. I follow up with a gel cleanser and my skin is perfect everytime. Although, mineral oil works just as well to cleanse when I use that.

I tried this cleanser b/c my skin is dehydrated and I love using oil to cleanse since it doesn't dry me out. I use about 3 pumps and massage all over my face then do my eyes last. It takes everything off, including waterproof eye makeup. It doesn't make me break out and leaves my skin soft and smooth. It also smells delicious!

I got this after I tried a sample of it. It is by far the best makeup remover out there. I used to use Lancome's Bi-facil eye makeup remover and it was mediocre. It always left an oily residue on the undereye area and it would take several applications and sometimes, even having to use a regular face wash, to thoroughly get eye makeup off. But when I tried the Deep Cleansing Oil, the results were absolutely fantastic. Like the instructions say, I use two pumps on my fingertips to massage it into my eyelids for about 20 seconds. After I rinsed, my eye makeup was completely gone. Eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, everything. And there was no oily residue or streaks left over. It was so gentle and felt great. The Cleansing Oil also smells great, but you could tell it wasn't from artificial fragrance, it was very subtle and pleasant. I use this mainly for the eyes, then I follow up with a few swipes of Lancome Micelle Cleansing Water for the rest of my face. I highly recommend this over other eye makeup removers!

I love this! It's a very inoffensive cleansing oil perfectly suited to dry skin because it has no menthols/mint, or alcohol that may dry skin (Shiseido does, Boscia does, though they are both pretty good oils IMO just not for me). It's got a short, sweet list of ingredients that include:
- Only a handful of actual oils like mineral oil, among a couple of other non-offensive oils that are great for makeup removing and moisture. (You won't find things like sage oil, cinnamon oil, etc. which is just there for scent and making your skin itch.)
- TONS of emulsifiers and similar ingredients really just meant to keep it together and creamy.
- A few great antioxidants and moisturizers, including Arginine.
*Did I mention it smells good? Really good; and subtle to boot! continued >>
