I really love this line of eyeliners, (especially the emerald!) but this particular one I do not like. All of the other colors live up to their names-bright greens, bright blues, teals, etc. I thought this would be a deep or bright purple, but it's really mostly black. It has a hint of plum to it, but not much. The formula on this one isn't as nice as the others either. It's still pretty soft and creamy but not as much. It does stay put pretty well. All in all this is just ok. If you want a black liner that leans purple, you might try this one-but if you're looking for a true purple or violet, this pencil is not.
Whoa! I was so surprised when I opened and swatched this liner at how creamy and incredibly pigmented it is! I originally picked it out for the color (still looking for something with a browner base) but damn, it is such a beautiful texture. Big surprise from the drugstore!
Total intensity liners are amazingly creamy and pigmented. This color is a gorgeous eggplant purple. Like another reviewer wrote, it's hard to come across a purple liner that is actually dark yet vibrant like this one. This colored liner makes my brown eyes pop. I love wearing when I want a pop of color in a neutral eye look. Best tip I've read so far is to wipe your waterline with a qtip first and then apply this liner; it will make the liner stay out and last all day. Def would repurchase! :)
I love this formula in general but what I really like about this purple is that it's a dark purple. A lot of colored liners are all about bright but if you still want definition you have to layer them over black. I find extra steps really annoying. But this is dark enough to wear on its own. It might not give you bold flash of color but I love it as a way to subtly brighten my blue-green eyes
This is my third color after Daring Green and Fearless Teal, a weird color celection it may seem but having green eyes is a challenge by itself and a green-eyed person ais always on the go in search of a flattering color. Sometimes my eyes look bright grass green, sometimes emerald green and sometimes yellow-tinged grey with darker circle.
This is not that much of a purple to scare people away, definitely not so. Purple flashes only in bright direct sunlight, whereas in an office environment is it a very tonned down dark greyish-brownish-reddish black-based purple. This is my third review of Total Intensity eye liners and it is only now that I figured where I have seen that idea: YSL's latest gel liners and Faux Cils Shocking mascara, several blackened colors. I am not sure there is a matching mascara but a few of these will definitely find their partner at YSL's. As I am a big fan of FC Shocking in blackened green and find it very age and office appropriate, I believe my Powerful Purple will also see many office days.
And again in brief: stays put and color-true for at least 8 hours on my upper lid, is very creamy and glides easily. However being extra creamy must be applied with caution and will probably need sharpening every now and than and will hardly last long. May be easily removed with Guerlain Radiance Cleansing Gel (gel to oil to milk substance).
I'll probably buy this again in the future b/c it is so cheap and it's a beautiful color. It's very creamy and fairly easy to apply. I did find there was some flaking later in the day but for the price, I'll overlook it.

I think I may have finally found my perfect purple liner. I tried this stuff in brown and fell in love, and I love how this type of liner has a blackened pigment (in every shade). So this is basically a blackened purple, something I have been looking for all along. It basically looks like some shade between black and brown until you look up close.
This shade is actually darker looking than Bold Brown so for you folks who want a bit more drama but find the black shade too harsh (I'd imagine it to be extremely dark since these liners are darkly pigmented), I would go with this.
The purple may show up more against eyeshadow, but when worn alone with just mascara it really appears to be some blackened shade of brown. Haven't tried it with shadow, but with my usual bare lids and mascara it is quite dark. I like that the purple isn't extremely obvious.
Darker than any other plum or purple liner I've tried, including BB gel (which was a bit too light for my liking).
These liners in general are amazing. They glide on, last all day, don't run or anything! My only complaint is that they need sharpening..wish they were automatic. The price is really good too, less than 6 dollars.
The formula of these is fantastic - smooth to apply, then it sets and doesn't move, fade or flake for the whole day. I have a couple of other colours and am thoroughly impressed with all of them.
Powerful Purple is a deep, dark smoky aubergine with a slight plummy shimmer. Doesn't run too red or too blue but is definitely dark rather than bright. Do not expect a bright jewel toned pop of colour with this (try Estee Lauder Double Wear in Black Plum instead, which ironically, considering it's name is nowhere near as dark as this) but if you're keen to do a deep purple smoky eye, this would be perfect. Sadly, no longer available in NZ but if you have friends in Australia you could beg, borrow and plead with them to pick some up for you. Compared to high end brands, totally worth the price!

i got this for nzd $6 at my not-so-local kmart but im quite sad as it was on clearance because kmart has stopped carrying the prestige line, which effectively means that there is nowhere for me to get prestige products anymore in the whole of NZ!! ive always wanted to try out the total intensity line but was somehow discouraged by the $20 price tag (yes, cosmetics is as expensive as hell in nz, n $20 is not that small of an amount). when i went to kmart recently every other eyeliners from total intensity have gone and there was only this purple one left so i picked it up so fast even superman was no match for me lightening speed! n when i got home to use it it was love at first sight which makes me even more sad as prestige is now out of my reach alltogether! i really wanted to try out the olive one u know! n of course the black one!! i really would repurchase if i can find prestige anywhere else in the country, providing its not too far away though lol
