I loved this last summer. Still do, but I haven't purchased it this year because I have too many floating around from sales still. It is a very summery, rich floral that smells like a bouquet or flower arrangement. Very feminine and womanly. I don't care for this scent once fall and winter hit. The shower gel is great in summer.
Bath&BodyWorks' Butterfly Flower is described as "a vibrant fragrance inspired by the natural elegance and playful femininity of a butterfly garden in full bloom." This scent was discontinued in store but is still available in a limited selection of products on the brand's website. Bath&BodyWorks says that their lotion is "fortified with powerful ingredients like super conditioner shea butter, fast absorbing jojoba oil and protective vitamin e to hydrate the skin with moisture that lasts all day. Non greasy formula absorbs quickly and completely to leave skin feeling incredibly soft, smooth, and nourished, making it the perfect daily moisturizer." I bought my full size 8fl oz (236ml) bottle during the Semi Annual Sale for $3, it normally retails for $11. I was actually accidentally sent two bottles, but I gave the second one away. Bath&Bodyworks is a cruelty free company that makes all their products in the USA.
Like all Bath&BodyWorks Signature Collection Body Lotions, Butterfly Flower comes in a clear, recyclable, hourglass shaped plastic bottle topped off with a metallic cap with a pop up dispenser. Butterfly Flower has an attractively abstract label. An orange flower sits against a back ground that changes from white to orange . The name of the scent is written in plain white lettering. The back label features a product and scent description, a full ingredient list and some company info.
Do you know the scent of pollen? Well that's exactly what Butterfly Flower smells like. This stuff is pollen in a bottle. When I looked up the scent notes I thought it'd just say "straight up pollen", but surprisingly no. Here are the actual scent notes.
Top Notes: Black Tea, Mouthwatering Tangerine, Cyclamen, Banana Leaf
Mid Notes: Maxillaria Tenufolia Orchid, Asian Syringa, French Mimosa
Dry Notes: Creamy Coconut Milk, Musk
Aside from smelling strongly of pollen, Butterfly Flower has a strong, distinct note of fresh cut grass, which I think might be the tea. I also pick up a little bit of banana..one of my least favorite foods ever. Butterfly Flower is unpleasant, strong, and cloying in my opinion. It permeates my clothes and towels. The scent sticks to the skin for quite a while, so layering it with the matching body spray and shower gel could keep Butterfly Flower lasting all day. To me, Butterfly Flower is like a headache and allergy inducing spring day in a bottle, but this scent is highly rated on Makeup Alley, so its probably just me. The lotion it's self is pretty much Bath&BodyWorks standard. The only real difference is that Butterfly Flower is a little peachy in color as opposed to white. This never greasy lotion sinks into my skin quickly and leaves it feeling soft, silky, and adequately moisturized. This is definitely a good lotion for daily use on skin that isn't too needy.
Butterfly Flower is just not for me. It's cloying and obnoxious. It seems like it used to be a really popular scent though. Yinz know that scent is such a highly personal thing though, so we'll all feel differently about any scent. I find the combination of notes a little bizarre . I wouldn't repurchase it, I'm pretty glad I gave the second bottle away.
This has a very fresh, delicate, sweet, floral fragrance. Sounds strange but I could use the word "sparkling" to describe it. Bath and Body Works lotions and creams are wonderful. They are light yet creamy, not greasy, easily absorbed, moisturise well AND smell awesome. And the wonderful fragrance lingers on my skin for ages!
This scent smells literally like flowers! It doesn't smell artificial at all - which is great! A perfect scent for spring/summer :)
SO upset that this scent is discontinued now! It was a beautiful smell that reminded me of nice spring days. Floral but mixed with honeysuckle a bit. The scent would always linger on my skin as well. I hope they bring it back one day.
I just recieved the lotion and body wash as a gift for christmas and i really do love it. At first, it is a little strong but after a few minutes the smell calms down and smells so nice and feminine. It's a sweet floral that's great for all ages. Too bad it's discontinued though!
I love this lotion! It can be a little cloying when you first put it on, but after a few minutes, it smells so sweet and feminine. It is definitely a floral scent, but I was surprised to find a hint of banana in the mixture which seemed odd at first, but it really works. The lotion is very moisturizing and the scent lasts for several hours. Unfortunately, it turns out that this fragrance has been discontinued. It really is too bad because this is a great scent. For some reason I have really bad luck with B&BW always getting rid of my favorite scents.
Too bad that Butterfly Flower is being discontinued, because it's such a pretty and feminine fragrance. The lotion is quite fragrant and when paired with the splash, it's divine. Smells like flowers in bloom, it's sweetly refreshing.
I love this scent! To me it smells like honeysuckles! So refreshing and clean. This is one scent after putting it on I can still smell it on my skin later on in the day! One of my favorites!
This is my favorite floral scent. It is so true to life. It literally smells like the flowers that are outside of my house on a warm summer evening. I can not get enough of it. I like floral scents on occasion, but I could wear this all the time. BF is similar to Enchanted Orchid and Honeysuckle, but I feel like BF is not as sharp as these fragrances are. EO and Honeysuckle would sometimes irritate my nose when I sniffed them, but I never have that problem with BF. I heard it is being discontinued, which leaves me heart broken. I just recently discovered it. I can't believe I passed it by for so many years.
