I thought this would work for my combo skin but it dried out my cheeks and t zone and still left the blackheads!
A little goes a long way
Leaves a film which is hard to remove even with a toner
Quite a strong smell Lancôme fragrance
Too aggressive for my skin probably better for oily combo skin?
Update 20/11/12 - I'm not 100% sure but after 6 weeks of using this I was getting small red clogs on my fore head that wouldn't go away. I've switched back to my HG (Avene Cleanance Gel) and it has cleared. I will try this again after my skin has had a chance to calm, but I'm happy using the Avene and should just try to stick with that. I've changed the rating from a 5 to a 3 and probably won't re purchase this face wash again.
I received this as a gift and have used it x2 a day for the last 4 weeks. I've hardly made a dent in the tube as it seems to be very concentrated and a little goes a long way. Even though it is expensive I imagine the tude will last a long time. I've started using it with a Japanese tool called a 'Love Bubble' which makes lots of lather and it seems to make it stretch even further. I doesn't clog/irritate my skin and my acne has no come back since using this so I feel very pleased with it. My oily skin feels clean and not dry at all after cleansing. It rinses away well. I love the faint rosey fragrance as well. I'm tempted to buy this again as it suits my skin, but I'm not sure about the price. I'll see how long this tube lasts and then will probably get more with a gwp or ask for it as a gift at Xmas/birthday time.
Got a bottle from my boyfriends mother. It made my skin very clean and didn't break me out but I won't buy again cause I don't like spending too much on cleansers.
My combination-acne prone skin and is quite sensitive, but this product is not harsh at all. Even though it didn't give much help for my acne prone skin, it cleanses well, lather well and not drying my skin at all. So far, this is the best cleanser I ever used!
Great cleanser for oily skin, not too drying but enough cleansing for my combination to oily skin.
However do your research before you buy, since the price can be as cheap as AUS$25 online to AUS$65 on Lancome counter.
This reminds me of a shaving foam (this smells nicer though)! You need just a tiny bit and it foams like crazy! Yet it creates a film on my face and despite the squeaky finish doesn't make my skin feel clean at all. I have to use a toner afterwards only to discover that there is still plenty of make-up left on my face. Honestly, in my opinion this deserves a 0. Especially considering the price. (have been using it for 2 months). I have noticed that if I use it in the morning it's more difficult to apply my make-up evenly and staying power reduces significanlty. To top this off, it gives me breakouts! As soon as I stop using it, the breakouts are gone. So I am desperately trying to use it up and use it only a couple of times a week (going to take me ages! So if this cleanser suits your skin, it's definitely worth the money), otherwise I end up having blemishes. One good thing - it doesn't dry out my (oily acne-prone) skin at all. It's probably not targeted for the oily-skinned acne-prone girls but the SA was trying to convince me otherwise telling me how gentle it is etc etc. *going back to my HG Clinique mild liquid soap*
good cleanser, washes away impurities, leaves my combie flaky skin soft, and no residue left at all. only put really tiny amount and it lathers well, so the tube will lasts.
will not repurchase bcoz there's still a lot of cleanser with similar benefits in cheaper price.
Just a little bit will take you a long way. A bit on the expensive side, but for how well it works (as tested by a toner + cotton pad swab test after wash), it is worth its money and excels in its category.
Purchase with confidence. I recommend this product with confidence.
Even at its retail price it is actually great value for money. You use a tiny 1/4 pea sized amount and lather it into a lovely fine foam before applying. Trust me your tube lasts forever.
I am quite fussy about face cleansers and have tried a lots of different brands and like others have mentioned happened upon this face wash as a sample size and have used it off and on ever since.
I have sensitive combo skin, more dry than oily, but still getting the occasional pimple (at 30 yrs!) and what I like about the product is that it is really cleansing without drying, keeps my skin clear and smells delicate and fresh.
No tightness, shininess or oily residue just a nice deep clean feeling. Also which is great for me - no red irritated skin patches I think this actually calms down my faces sensitivity.
I even rate this above Philosophy's Purity which I also love and Jurlique's Replenishing Foaming Cleanser which comes in a close second to this imo.
