LOVE this color.
Complain to Revlon to bring it back.
They emailed me that they are trying to keep up with fashion colors and this is out.

Ladies, if you are on the lookout for the PERFECT red lipstick, I highly recommend that you try this one! This red isn't too light nor too dark, so it really is the perfect red colour. I feel like this lipstick can compliment any skin tone. I'm Chinese so I have yellow undertones with a warmer complexion and this lipstick compliments my skin tone. I also have a classmate who is Caucasian and has a very fair skin tone and this lipstick looked GORGEOUS on her! I wore this out at night one time and I got so many compliments because of how it made my teeth look extremely white! I am a matte fanatic, so I really love that the lip stick is matte because it is so wearable even for the day time. The matte finish is also really flattering for my full lips because anything with a glossy finish will just make my lips even more abnormally big! The staying power of this lipstick is amazing as well. I had a three course dinner and my lip stick still stayed on with minimal fading. So if you're hesitant about trying red lipstick, or if you're still looking for that perfect red lipstick, I say that you take the plunge and try this gorgeous (and affordable!) lipstick.

i have a medium indian skin tone.. (south asian indian..) this red is quite possibly the only wearable red for my complexion. and for that alone it deserves 5 stars. recently ive been going nuts over red lippies and red polishes. so now that ive found my HG red lippie im on a quest to find a matching polish. im considering taking this to the store and use it to find polish of the exact shade. donno how that gonna turn out but its a try given that no other red ever looked good on me.

Great red but slight off for my skin tone. The feel is not so great but creates a stain that feels natural. Important to exfoliate before applying or the cracks will show. I wear it by just dabbing very slightly on my lips since the color is a bit off but good for a vintage look. Still on the lookout for the perfect red but this is nice.

I've been on a red lipstick mission. I'm cool-toned and fair (NW20) with dark eyes and hair. My lips are fairly pigmented medium pink, and have a propensity to turn reds pink or raspberry. My quest is to find a) the perfect red lipstick, and b) the perfect red-brown lipstick. (2 quests! Wait, maybe 3 -- I'd love to find a blood red one, too.)
With that being said, In the Red is currently my favorite red-brown lipstick. It's a medium red with a fairly strong brown undertone -- not yellow, not orange, but brown. That brown winds up making it a pretty neutral red (although I'd say it leans more toward a warmer, yellow-based red rather than a blue-based one). Since I'm cool-toned and verrrrrrrry particular about my red lipstick shades, I was worried this would be too warm-toned for me -- but no. Okay, perhaps it's slightly, ever so, too warm for it to qualify as my perfect lipstick (in some lights, I look at it on me and it's quite heavy on the brown) BUT I think it's neutral enough that cool-toned folks can wear it too. (Suffice to say, it'd look awesome on warm-toned people.)
But what's really outstanding is the lasting power. It's matte but not so matte that it sucks the moisture out of your lips. It doesn't suck any moisture out, but it doesn't add any either. I first apply a lip balm, let it sit for 10ish minutes, then blot, then apply this from the tube. Then I'll blot again, and then apply a 2nd layer -- that really makes it stick. It will start to wear off 4-5 hours later. What's really amazing is how evenly it wears off. With my other lipsticks (both mid- and high-end, like my MAC and YSL lippies), they wear off a bit from the center (and MAC lippies wear off particularly unevenly for me). But not this guy. In the Red wears off so evenly that it puts those other lippies to shame!
All in all, a great neutral red-brown lipstick with incredible lasting power (even through eating!). Perfect for both work or a night out. A touch too brown for my skin tone but only a touch -- I still wear it often!
Vs Revlon's Really Red: I have both. Really Red is much more warmer-toned and almost orange-y if you layer it on thick. If you layer In the Red on thick, it becomes a deep red brick color. I once swatched them on my hand and then fell asleep. When I woke up, the Really Red swatch had faded to a medium orange streak. The In the Red swatch faded to a rusty brown streak.
Vs MAC's Viva Glam I (the original): I have that one too. VGI is definitely cooler, more cherry-red, with a good amount of brown in it (with the brown bringing it back toward neutral). VGI is also a matte but much more drying than In the Red and wears off incredibly unevenly.

I'm buying backups just because I love this so much. See other reviews for more info, but yeah. It really is worth all the hype. Perfect, glamourous, 1940s Hollywood-throwback red matte lipstick, but better.

So glad I got this product. It's a gorgeous, super-pigmented, smooth medium red that looks great with my really pale complexion. I was going for a classic 1940's/1950's look and that's what it is. It's matte without being drying or looking cracked; it's simply smooth and clean looking. The best part is that it didn't come out looking orange or off on my lips like I was afraid it would. It also makes my teeth look really white.
I would say that if any cool-toned fair skinned girls are looking for a red that looks great and isn't too loud, get this. It's so easy to use and is my new favorite. I hope they don't stop making it any time soon.

It is a beautiful longlasting red. I was looking for a dark red that was appropraite during the day and this is it.

Revlon has the nicest red lipstick shades. It's my first time to try red on my lips, as I usually go for pinks. However, when I swatched this, I liked it immediately. It's a true red, indeed. I'm warm, with yellow undertones, and the shade works really well for me. I can wear this in the office, and not look totally vampy or slutty. It also applies easily, even if it's matte, I dont use lipliners or a lipbrush, just directly from the tube, and then blot, blot, blot. It gives off a nice stain if it wears off, but the color lasts a long time.
I've yet to try high-end brands, but for now , this is worth every buck. not drying too. I think I'm beginning to like reds, because of this. :)

This is as close to an universal red as you can get. I paid $9CAD for it but it's as good as a twice-the-price MAC lipstick. Matte but not drying, lasts very long without budging. It's very wearable, even as a day look, it's not a loud neon hooker-type color.

I am a red lipstick junkie. I have so many and am addicted to buying every different possible red but somehow this one is the one I always use the most. I have chanel, mac, and many others sitting in my makeup bag neglected.
I was finding it hard to find my 'perfect shade' being a deeper, darker matte red with no obvious orangey or blue undertones. I build this up with a few layers over a lip filled in with liner and it becomes a gorgeous deep sultry red.
Out of all my red lipsticks, this is my favourite and the one I use the most. Going out in the evening, I use it with Mac brick lipliner and break the makeup rule to wear it with dark smokey eyes, because I can pull it off (think Eva Green, in Casino Royale). My style is a bit gothic but still elegant and timeless, I have dark hair and do not have a tendency to wear bright colours (in clothing or makeup) so finding a red that was not too neon or orangey or brown or pink-looking was my obsession until I found this and I love that I can make this the perfect deep blood red. I also love the fact that this is great to wear during the day as well as evening.
Also, I think absolutely anyone can wear this colour. I put it on my blonde german friend last Saturday night, and she looked so gorgeous and sexy! Like a 1940's screen siren. Anyway, that's my rant...I love it and it doesn't break the bank like the other lesser lipsticks I have purchased! (The photos on this page look nothing like mine -not sure if the flash makes the colour look different, but in the photo of me in my profile I am wearing it).

I really wanted to like this. It is such a beautiful red in the tube, but when I put it on, it looked very orange, like a deep reddish-orange. I am still looking for a nice red-red. Yes, this is dry, but so is all matte lipstick I have tried. I liked the matte finish and how it went on. I am very sensitive to smells, and this one didn't smell like much of anything to me. The only real issue I have with it is the orange color. I am very fair, blue eyes, freckles.

A GREAT soft red, fine for daytime and weekdays. It is matte, and I usually steer clear of mattes, but this doesn't bother me, for some reason. It means it lasts longer, but I wore it last night with glass (which got all over the rim of my drinking glass), but when I got home after the party, I still had some color on my lips.
I highly recommend this red. I have about 20 reds, and this is a great one. I suspect I'll get another one to keep in my purse. I have Revlon's Crimson there now, but that's darker and dryer and more fall/winter. I like this MUCH better!

I don't know how or why, but of my many Revlon lippies, SL and Mattes, this lippie seems to have the best formula. It's very matte, but I don't find it drying- at all. Crazy! Also, I was terrified of wearing red lips in public before buying this lippie. It pulls very brick on me and looks great with dark hair. I think it also make my teeth look whiter! :)

Is a pretty opaque red, perfect for brunettes :) Nothing special, but worth the price. I wouldn't repurchase just because I have waaaaaaaay too many red lipsticks

Reminds me of Mac's dubonnet lipstick, but in matte. This is a beautiful red colour, it's dark and sultry but somehow it works for everyday use. It glides on beautifully, I can wear it without a liner, and its staying power is amazing. It's cheap too, I got it at 4.99 a tube on a sale. I'd definitely stock up if you're looking for a cheap (it's about $8.99 regular priced) and reliable red lipstick. Revlon is probably the best drugstore brand.

The perfect red. (IMHO that is) And thats saying a whole lot in one little sentence! If your into red l/s you know how hard it can be to find one thats not too fushia, not too neon, not too brown, not too orange ect. This is a very classic 40s/50s red. It does have a slight slight slight burnt orange tint that i only notice when i wipe of the l/s. But on it really only shows as red. I have dark burgundy brown hair, and fair skin with freckles for reference. Searched high and low for one to match a red dress, was disapointed with MAC's selection of reds.. Found this at Walgreens of all places. I really don't think they carry this shade in a lot of stores. Very matte, smooth and gorgeous! I feel so retro and glamourous when I wear this! :) No need for a lip liner if you have a lip brush.

It turned neon orange-magenta on me and I quite honestly looked like a hooker. Very unattractive. :( Also, the texture of this lipstick was dry, dry, dry.
Also, it's a little OT but I disagree with the previous reviewer (gunkfury) who is complaining about people reviewing a color based on how it looked on them. That's the point of these reviews, and is also why most users have their complexion, skin and eye color listed. I don't give a crap what the lipstick packaging looks like - I want to hear about the color and how it looks on people.
On that note: pale skinned, green eyed, black haired girls, this color will probably not do you any favors.
