I've been using this product for almost three years! It's just amazing. I had really bad acne before and I had tried so many products that I just gave up and decided to just cleanse with this twice a day and do nothing else to my skin. I'm not gonna lie, my skin was pretty dry at first, and I had some peeling, but your skin will get used to it. Also, it didn't clear up my skin immediately, but after about a month, the difference was amazing! I still got a couple tiny pimples around my time of the month but they were nothing like the deep scar-causing pimples I got before!! and then I got the clarisonic, and when I use them together, I never get pimples AT ALL anymore =)
I was wondering why this was different from the other benzoyl peroxide treatments I used before and so I looked at the ingredients - it has alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic and lactic) so that must be making the difference! so then I tried once a week, in the shower, smoothing it on and leaving it for about 10 minutes like a mask, and it gets pretty intense, but my skin is so smooth and the pores are soo small afterwards
I recommend this to everyone!!

I have been using this product for years. One of my friends gave it to be becasue she said her dermatologist recommended it. I had bad acne that came out of no where when I turned 20, and I couldn't get rid of it. Finally, after using this product for a week it began to clear. I should probably stop using such a harsh product but it has worked for me for years and I love it. I strongly recommend it for people with acne problems. Also, I only use it once a day, opting for dove soap at night. I also combine it with a regular moisturizer. Anyways, this product is wonderful and highly recommended for acne prone/ combination skin.

I was very skeptical about using this product. I expected the Dermatologist to give me a prescription. I have had serious scarring on my back and chest for years. I have tried all kinds of products (Clinique spot corrector is awesome but expensive to use on areas more than your face). I must say I am noticing improvements. I never really had bad breakouts, just scarring all over I never could get rid of. I must say this product is lightening the scars. I do get breakouts on occasion and even this last time while using this it was less and did not last a day. I have only been using it for 3 weeks so I expect to see vast results in the next few weeks. I have to give props to whom it is due, if you are looking for help with bacne, and chest acne, I recommend this.
**It is drying, I didn't notice at first but it is. I just make sure to put lotion on the areas that I use it on and I have not problems.

I used Panoxyl for 2 week it over dried my skin because of the BP. Then my dermatologist recommended Jeosoef Skin Care Sulfur Soap 10% with Sulfur as the active ingredient opposed to BP. Well let me tell you my skin reacted so well to the sulfur soap my acne has cleared on my face and body. The soap is quite effective, they tell you for best results to use warm water and work the soap into a rich lather allow
"60 SECONDS" before rinse. This soap has been used by dermatologists for 50 years treating Acne and dermatitis and more. I use the soap twice a day. Joesoef's sulfur soap 10% is available online at www.Joesoefskincare.com or from your local dermatologists. Hope this helps anyone who skin reacts badly to BP.

I have been using this face wash for 2.5 months now (the tube version, not the bar). I have to say, it is the best acne fighting product I have ever used. I have light to moderate acne, which isn't debilitating, but at the same time, I've never gotten my skin completely clear. Enter Panoxyl, and now I have near-perfect skin. It has completely annihilated the breakouts I had on my cheeks and chin. The only downside is that it is extremely drying. I read the reviews before purchasing, so I knew to gradually work up my BP tolerance. I started out using it every 3rd day, then worked up to now using it once or twice daily. I always follow with at least 3-4 pumps of Cerave PM moisturizer and my skin has never looked better. I also want to add that I've recently implemented Acne.org AHA+ lotion to my routine, which really helps counteract the flakiness and dryness that BP can generate (and also keeps breakouts at bay). Panoxyl 10% BP face wash is amazing. It is inexpensive and widely available. I highly recommend it!

Doesn't do anything miraculous for me but I continue to use it because it was prescribed by my dermatologist. Tastes horrible when it gets up your nose. When it's running low it's difficult to get the product out of the bottle. Wouldn't buy this off my own back.

mediocre product. i bought it because the bar version really cleared up my bacne back in the day, so when the skin on my face out of no where started acting up and everything around me wasn't helping i thought i would give this a try.
My makeup routine on a day to day basis consists of just bare minerals powder foundation over dermablend foundation that i put on my problem areas. i never tried its makeup removing abilities, i usually remove it before i use this product.
i have been using it twice a day with my clarisonic mia. Now my skin is not cleared yet (its been 2 weeks) but there are no more new break outs and the ones I have are looking more controlled.
But I do not know if I can attribute it to this alone, because I also started using Stridex salicyclic acid pads, Cleocin T solution, and taking antibiotics all at the same time.
Because it did not do anything bad, I give it 3 stars...but I am not convinced that this product alone really can do anything for me.

i really like this cleanser. i have acne prone skin and have been suffering from acne since forever. best acne fighting cleanser hands down. i used this cleanser along with my moisturizer and that is all i needed to keep from breakouts.
the only thing i don't like is that it is very drying so you need a really good moisturizer. it also bleaches fabric, so make sure you don't have towels, rugs, clothes, or carpet around where you cleanse your face.. i wash my face at the sink and i have a bath rug by it. i ruined my bath rug from rinsing the product off my face and got bleach spots on it =(
but overall, it works and i do recommend it.

not bad. It's a thick sort of cream that is somewhat foamy just don't expect bubbles or anything. I have been using this for about a few weeks. While my skin isn't miraculously clearing up, it's does feel a little more controlled I guess, but I can't tell. It hasn't dramatically changed the cystic acne in any way that I've noticed aside from just drying which is one thing to definitely keep in mind- it's a very drying soap. After a few days you can feel it. I don't recommend using it every day, but some people may be able to handle it. It's too irritating and drying for me to use every day even though I get oily, so I think I'm only going to use it once every other day which should be enough to keep my zits from going out of control (I break out constantly on my chin and sometimes forehead). So far it's not bad, but I'm definitely lessening the use to see if it makes it more effective as opposed to irritating my skin.
******Edit- too drying and not effective enough. Went back to proactiv and it's waaay better. Would like to return this!****

I bought this after reading all the rave reviews here and I'm so happy I did! I've been using it for 2 weeks with my Clarisonic Mia and this stuff really works. My skin is oily and gets congested, but this has taken care of that problem. It did dry out the skin around my bottom lip pretty badly, but that's because I used it as a spot treatment on a pimple overnight. I put moisturizer on that area now and haven't had any more problems. It's helping to clear my chest acne, too. Used in conjunction with my Mia, my pores are deep cleaned and smaller, and my skin is smooth and glowy. My light acne scars are fading, although I don't know if that's because of this or the Mia--probably a combination of both! Now if this gets discontinued I will be one sad panda!

WHAT IS IN THIS PRODUCT THAT ISN'T IN OTHER BENOZYL PEROXIDE WASHES/CREAMS??!!! I have no idea--but whatever it is, it *works*. I bought this based on the glowing reviews with a healthy dose of skepticism, especially since the last benozyl peroxide treatment I used left a series of small bumps on my skin. I have some of the worst breakouts known to man, and within using this for two weeks my skin is much smoother, and my acne scars are finally given a chance to lighten. Even though the directions say to leave this on for 1-2 minutes, I only use it once a day and leave it on for 30 seconds since I have sensitive skin, and follow up with Aveeno moisturizing lotion (AMAZING stuff - see my review). My advice would be to start slow and watch your skin for reactions, and to use a really good moisturizer afterwards. It dried out my skin for the first few days, but within a week could see and feel a visible difference. Try this! You own't regret it :)

Let me get straight to the point - THIS IS A MIRACLE PRODUCT! Only *2* days ago, one of my girl friends recommended this product to me as we were discussing my chronic issue with bacne, cystic pimples, arm acne & the occasional chest acne. Basically I was a walking red, inflamed woman who appeared as if I never took care of my skin, when in fact it was quite the opposite. We immediately ran over to Walgreens and purchased and *score!* it was on sale for $7.99, originally 11.99 (NYC). The first time I used Panoxyl, was in the morning in the shower and I left it on for about 3 minutes while I shaved my legs. When I got out my skin felt a bit dry, so I just patted on a small amount of Olay lotion- was fine for the rest of the day. When I stepped out of the shower and throughout the day I noticed that my skin wasn't as oily and actually the majority of my acne had shrunken up a bit. So last night (I was becoming a bit obsessed and wanted to go to extremes) I used Panoxyl as a spot treatment while I slept. Oh lord- what a fabulous idea. I wokeup to ALMOST clear skin. Mind you this has only been my second time using the product! My only gripe is that it bleached my hunter green Egyptian sheets :( I guess that's what you get for sleeping in the nude! But in all seriousness just throw on an old raggy tee for bed and you'll be fine. Good luck and I truly hope this product was as much of a miracle worker for you as it was to me. Cheers! continued >>

I've only had this a few days but I need to write a review because it only has taken a few days for this product to help almost eliminate my resistant back acne! 6 months ago, I developed moderately severe back acne due to hormonal changes. I'd tried using prescription acne medication on it (tazorac), benzoyl peroxide, nothing helped at all. sometimes it would get a bit better, but ultimately would go back to being disgusting and bumpy. I purchased this after reading reviews on here. I've used it a few days, only at night because I've read that it can bleach clothing. I rub it onto my back and leave it for 5-10 mins, then wash it off. I tend to have very sensitive skin but so far this cleanser has neither irritated or dried out my skin. I'm even considering using it on my back. Anyway, my back is at least 70% better already, you notice the difference hours after using this. Try it out, I got it for $6.99 at stop n shop.

I wanted this to work so badly since I read so many good reviews, but it just didn't do it for me. I have super sensitive skin, combo oily and dry skin. Most of my acne are on my lower cheeks, chin and some on forehead. I decided to use panoxyl when the little bumps on my cheeks wouldn't go away. Before this, my usual regimen is, cetaphyl face wash nigh & morning. Acv at night. Tea tree & jojabo oil as spot treatment at night & morning. Not sure if my face got immune to tea tree or maybe I used a different brand or I used too high of a concentration, that I broke out in small tiny bumps, like 5 on my left cheek and 3 on my right. (My face has light to moderate acne w/scarring & pigmentation.) Anyways, after using panoxyl for 2 weeks, I noticed that it sped up the growth of the pimples rather than killing it before it became inflamed. I gave it a 3 because it kept my pimple small, but all the 3 on my right cheek have risen into pimples and now I have dark spots again. 2 on my left were dried out, while the rest also grew into pimples from bumps. That's how my face has always reacted to BP and I totally forgot about it. If only this product was my holy grail. I'm off to looking for one that will treat my acne and give me healthy looking skin. continued >>

Recommended by my dermatologist. I LOVE this product! I had typical teenage acne on my back and chest for years, and tried dozens of products with no effect. After using this for a few months whenever I take a shower, I've had major improvements. My back acne is pretty much gone, aside from the casual random pimple or two around that time of the month. My chest acne has greatly improved, and although it's not completely gone, about 75% of my original chest acne has disappeared. This is a lifesaver! Although it's way too harsh to use on my face because I have super sensitive skin, I'd definitely recommend this for anyone looking to get rid of stubborn body acne.

NEWEST UPDATE: I can't do any updates anymore cause I lost the product lol. I'll see if I can get a new one soon and continue, whenever that will be. Also, the Aveeno made my skin feel horrible/break out.. go figure.
I generally read reviews instead of write any, but I wanted to do a review for this product. I used it yesterday night (and plan on using it every night), and my face did have a lot of pimples. When I woke up in the morning, a lot of them were gone. I have a good feeling for this product because many tend to not work for me. I've tried Neutrogena, but it didn't work. I tried just using a gentle cleanser (Cetaphil), but it broke me out more. This seems perfect. Since I have only used it once, I will update every week for 6 weeks straight (I think it's the only way to fairly judge it for my skin type).
My skin is: Acne prone (as in I have acne, mainly puberty acne that started since I was in 6th grade, but I also get more during my time of month), dry to very dry, sensitive. This product does NOT dry out my skin surprisingly. It only seems to dry out the actual acne (not a lot though).
My skin: breaks out basically every day, has premature wrinkles, uneven skin tone, dark circles, acne scars (basically all over my face, chest, and back).
What this product does for me so far: It reduces my acne (by a lot), and gives my skin a very slight healthy glow.
What I use with this product: Cetaphil moisturizer (not anymore)(look at my second update).
UDPATE week 1: So far, so good. My acne has really been reduced. A lot of the stubborn patches of pimples have gone down to little bumps; there's still regular ones though of course. I'm really liking this product. :) In the first 4 days, I used it every other day just so I could get used to it. I use it every night now. If I do get new pimples, they reduce after I use the product anyway. I don't know if it's my imagination, but this product also seems to reduce scarring just a little. I'll see how that goes next week. ;)
UPDATE: Okay, I know it hasn't been a week, but for the past few days I haven't been using a moisturizer because the Cetaphil just breaks me out THAT much. I just hate the feeling of it too. Sooo what I did today was I used the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion (yup, on my face) and it really SUNK into my extremely dry skin instead of giving me that sticky feeling like Cetaphil! And it just feels so moisturized! Plus, no breakouts! :D (So far, lol) I just wanted to let you all know. ;)

I've struggled with acne for the better part of 6 years, and this is definitely the best thing I have EVER tried to clear up acne on my face and back/chest area. I made the mistake of getting it too close to my eyes and mouth at first, but I saw a significant clearing up of my huge red pimples in only a week or two. I am now cleared up and am able to use less harsh acne cleansers, but whenever I have a bad breakout this is the perfect fix. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I loved this product. It seems weird to say, but I think it helped clear my face permanently. It was quick, gentle, and nice to my face. I used 2 bottles of it, before switching to something else. I switch up my face washes every once in a while because my face builds up an immunity from excessive use, so it's not because of the product itself. Love it!

As everyone else has stated, I absolutely LOVE this product, too! I started losing hope this past summer with my huge break out I had weeks ago since my regular "on-the-spot" benzoyl peroxide wasn't working. Instead it was just drying my face out making me really red and irritated.
After reading reviews on this product I got it on a whim after procrastinating for a while about it. I'm so glad that I wound up buying it. The first week I used it once a day but now I'm using it twice. If I feel my skin is a little too dry, I'll use it once during the day. The last thing you want to do is irritate your skin.
Now all that I'm unfortunately left with is the scars mostly. However, my lemon mask I leave on every night for about an hour is definitely diminishing those dark spots, thank god. Lemon is amazing! In any case, I'm extremely happy I bought this product. Less is definitely more, and if you have combo/dry skin just be sure to moisturize! Give it a little. I've been using this for a little over 2 weeks now and my skin loves it. Definitely a HG product!
