I've done a full review of these lipsticks over on my blog. Check it out!
I bought 3 of these and the colours are amazing. but...
It looked so awful on! Its super drying, not like any other matte lipstick i've tried. Your lips have to be in perfect condition for this to look good. They are cheap so I'm not all dissapointed. It's a bit waxy and it does smell and feel a bit cheap + They stain your lips and it's very hard to remove. I put a heavy coat of lipbalm underneath to make it glide on more smoothly and it looks ok. Not great, but ok.
Oh my goodness, this has to be one of my all time favourite lipsticks! It's sooo creamy, the colour's brillant and the lasting power is pretty top-notch too. Not bad for a lipstick that only cost me 4.99GBP and was bought on a total whim when I saw it in Superdrug a few months ago. Buy one - you won't regret it!!
I have this lipstick in 'Barely There' which is a sheen finish- don't believe the name- this lipstick is definitely there!
Like all Sleek products it does not suffer from a lack of pigmentation.
Barely There is a beautiful fresh, peachy coral shade. It reminds me exactly of the sort of lip shades that were all the rage in the early 60's (think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at T. in the scenes with the peach coat). Coverage is medium, it does not obliterate your own lip colour but it definitely packs more of a punch than your average sheer lipstick.
Formula is really nice! There is no real detectable scent, it is smooth, hydrating and quite creamy. Being a pale colour it does work best when rubbed into the lips with fingers or a brush a little for an even application but otherwise it is quite low maintenance. The only reason it doesn't get the full 5/5 is that it hasn't the strongest lasting power. After two hours I would need to reapply. This is a little lower than average for me.
For the money I think this is a really pretty lipstick and definitely worth a try if you love these sort of shades.
I just bought my very first Sleek lipstick in the color Liqueur. It is a sheen lipstick. I am very fair and this particular shade suits me well. It is a mid tone pink, and in the tube it has gold shimmer. However once you put it on, it is a creamy neutral pink with no shimmer. I find that it is really buttery, and feels nice on the lips. Reminds me of MAC lustre lipsticks. I'm not crazy about the packaging of this lipstick. When I got my package of Sleek products and opened it up, I saw the lipstick and I was like "wow this is tiny". But it is convenient to just throw in your purse or even your pocket. I'm planning on buying more colors.
I LOOOVE sleek products especailly their true colour lipsticks. My favourite is 'Baby Doll' which is a cute baby pink colour.
They are moisturising when first applied.
Are fully pigmented.
Creamy and glide on easily.
Do a good range of colours.
Packaging is compact and cute.
Doesn't last very long.
When the colour fades it leaves behind a brighter pink colour which is'nt very attractive.
The best drugstore lipsticks in the UK. The matt colours are truly matt and super pigmented. The sheen colours are also very pigmented. My favourites are Babydoll, Heartbreaker, Amped,Mystic and Peaches & Cream
These are my favourite lipsticks on the market. I only have shades in sheen, I think the matte ones wouldn't look so great. But even the sheen ones are semi-matte, which I love. The colour pay-off is amazing and the colour stays put. It's so rich and vibrating - my favourite of them all is 'Candy Cane'. I also have 'Coral reef', which I gave to my mom as it's a bit too orange for my skin tone and have recently purchased 'Barely there'. I love the formulation, if you pat your lips before eating, you remain with a lip stain throughout the day. Would definitely re-purchase, I'm thinking another vibrant colour like 'cherry' or 'vixen' for autumn.
These are really good! The only problem is that you have very dry lips it's going to show because they're SUPER creamy and can create ugly patches. Would recommend to prep the lips before applying it! My favorite right now is "Barely there", which is a peachy nude that looks beautiful on pale skin! Definitely would buy again.
Edit: I've edited my review to give them a three. The truth is since my first review to now I've found better, similarly priced lipsticks which don't make your dry patches show badly OR dry your lips (like the matte True Colour lipsticks do). I still love the colour range, but they are not my favorite lipsticks. Still would buy again because they do have really pretty shades, I'd only make sure to wear them when my lips are in VERY good condition.
I have these in mystic, vamp and amethyst.
They are either creamy or matte.
They go on very patchy, so if you were going for the 'just bitten' look, like you would do with just one light coat. It doesn't appear opaque but patchy instead.
One more coat and they appear very opaque and pigmented.
Another problem is they don't last long. :(. I guess you get what you pay for?
