I tried a sample of it and even though I liked how moisturizing it felt, i would never ever buy this!!
I got a horrible rash all over my face and neck and it took almost a week to get rid of it. My skin isnt actually very sensitive and I had not had a rash for years...
Well, not a product I would ever recommend using..

i find the smell bothersome. the texture too rich and heavy for my skin. this made me feel like i had a mask on my face. i had high hopes for this but it did not perfrom as i expected. by the end of the day i had clogged pores and a few small pimples. i have since been using this on my neck in the hopes of using it up. in my opinion this is for VERY dry skin.

I've been using this cream for about a week and although the scent is a bit offensive I do love the product. Luckily, my foundation does a decent job at masking the scent. What can I say...I'm very particular when it comes to scents in products. I have yet to see results so I will update within the next two months. In the meantime, it moisturizes well and has not caused me to break out. I love Clarins !!!

I am a Clarins fan and a lot of their stuff really works for me (a staple for me is UV Plus SPF 40).
With my last Clarins purchase I was given a GWP tube of Eclat du jour.
I was first a bit bothered it has to be used in the morning as it is quite thick, and I put a lot of stuff in the morning on my face (serum, moisturizer, Sunscreen, foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer); so each product must be very light and easily absorbed to work w/ the others..
As one reviewer (correctly) commented below, this is an excellent cream that will NOT suit people with combo or oily skin.
I loved the feel, the texture and the smell (adore Clarins scent in their stuff) but alas, it is way too heavy for me. I have combo skin, of course.
With my skin routine, it makes it heavier to layer the other product and I ended up being shiny half an hour after my makeup was done (and I use tons of good face powder to fix it and absorb oil).
Got pimples also the day after!! BAD!! (I never break out)
Back I go to Clarins Multi Active Jour gel , lightweight and fast absorbing, perfect for my skin.

first of all i would like to say that i love the other clarins product that i use which is bright plus serum. so i wanted to try out more from this line and so after taking a look at the ingredient list ended up buying this. i love the ingredient list which includes a lot of botanical extracts that are great for skin. but to my disappointment it did absolutely nothing for my skin, nothing texturewise or for moisture. it was an absolute waste of money for me. but i continued using this since expecting some results and after religious use for like two months , nothing . if u want to try something from clarins i would say go for the bright plus serum. But this one doesnt energize the skin as the name says, atleast for me it didnt.

I got this as a large-sized sample. I love Clarins skincare, and this has the same light, lovely fragrance (which means not much at all!). I used up the whole container, and liked it a lot. I am prone to breakouts and had no problems with this as all. It seemed to brighten up my skin more than my usual day moisturizer (also Clarins), and I would purchase it except for the lack of spf. Would love to pick up another one in a GWP--I'd definitely use it!

I would call this a topical daily multivitamin for the skin. It contains extracts of cashew nut, peach, orange, kiwi, pineapple, papaya, sesame, and hops which are rich in vitamins A, B, C & E and the minerals zinc, manganese, magnesium and calcium. It's a thick lotion, balm-like in texture. I use the Clarins method of warming the product in my palms and then pressing my palms to my skin. This moisturizer has a lot of slip to it, so I can also lightly sweep the product on without tugging the skin - and a pea sized amount is more than enough to cover my face & neck. Reading the insert, it also states that this contains "Vitacreatine" a natural energizing complex, and Clarins Anti-Pollution complex to protect skin from environmental effects. Sounds like a lot of hype, but I believe in it this time because I see how much more radiant my skin has started to look since using this moisturizer. This product has eliminated my need of using heavy creams and illuminating foundations to combat the sallowness and dryness that my complexion previously suffered from. continued >>

Excellent moisturizer, made my skin look good. Sinks in, not greasy and works well under makeup. However, it's not a miracle, nor my HG which I'm on a mission to find. After I try everything, I'll possibly repurchase if I don't find anything I like better.

It seems like a lot of people don't like this, but it is my favorite and only day moisturizer. I have used it for about 10 years now. I think I do remember not liking the smell at first, but now I am just used to it and I don't notice. I just use a little teeny tiny bit after I get out of the shower and dry my face. For me, it has been important to put it on when my skin is not wet or it takes a long time to soak in, and seems a little sweaty or something. I have really sensitive skin, and it doesn't irritate my skin, which so many other moisturizers did (including cetaphil, complex 15, clinique, oil of olay). In fact, I can put it on my skin when it is irritated, and it is really calming. This is not oily at all and I just love it love it love it. I think it is important to use just a small amount.

At the first couple of uses, I started to scour the internet for discounts for my repurchase! Initially, it smoothed my parched yet acne-prone skin without leaving an oily residue.

However, after using it for a few weeks, my pores started to become very congested, and I noticed an increase in blackheads & whiteheads. Still, I persisted, convinced it couldn't be this expensive cream! However, when the skin congestion surfaced to more pimples than I have ever had since my early teens, I discontinued use.

I am still trying to de-congest my skin and get it back to normal! Ugh! Initially good but beware, you may experience clogging of every pore on your face in the long run, pimples on parts of my face that I have never had pimples before!! continued >>

i use this in the day and the renew plus at night and my skin is just flawless. it makes your skin glow. i have oily skin and this has never broken me out. i always warm the product up first and apply it with pressing motions because clarins products are heat activated and you must do this to get the maimum absorbancy.

I REALLY love this moisturizer. the thing is that many SA do not explain when and how to use it!
It contains lots of vitamins and should be used just once a year, as a treatment, to boost radiance!
the best product to go with it is Clarins Renew Plus serum,( as a night moisturizer, i quess for dry skin types just as serum, put night moisturizer on the top), contains (ProRetinol).
I've used both of them before summer, and the results were amazing, my skin looked really healthy, radiant, will by this year again!

I really like this moisturiser - it leaves my skin smooth and silky, it's easily absorbed and is a great base for MU. I have combo/oily/sensitve/acne-prone skin which literally drinks up this moisturiser. It also prevents my skin from dehydrating throughout the day, as with most other moisturisers my skin gets oily on top and dehydrated underneath. I'm not sure it does any brightening, but it hasn't broken me out, so I'll continue to use it. Comes in an innovative pump bottle, but you can't see how much product is left. It has lasted me about 5 months so far, but I do alternate this with Dr H's Rose Day Creme for when my skin needs extra oomph. It doesn't contain spf, but I'm not too bothered as I tend either to wear foundation on top anyway. If I'm out in the sun I'll use a proper sunscreen. I'll be repurchasing this.

Was very hopeful when I purchased this product, i have dry skin but am still prone to breaking out. this cream was supposed to be suitable for all skin types and states it is non-comedogenic. Liked it at first because it was moisturizing, but soon enough my skin became extremely clogged, more so than with any other moisturizer i've used. I ended up with pimples in spots that hadn't broken out in years... total waste of money.

I love this product! I have combo oily skin and my nose is always shiny by lunchtime but this product does not make my oilyness any worse nor does it break me out. I have been told by many Clarins consultants that this product is too rich and heavy for me but experience has told me otherwise. It gives me good deep moisturisation without leaving a film or any greasiness and makes me look healthy and glowing. I does not give me the milia that many moisturisers do. Definitely recommended. I just wish it had a sunscreen in it. No-one wants to put layer after layer of products on their face each day. I just want an all-in-one moisturizer/sunscreen and if this had a sunscreen this would be my HG moisturizer. The packaging is also fabulous - no spillage and hygenic!

k...I am a SKIN CARE SPECIALIST for Clarins....not a SA. Clarins provides the most training to their specialist than any other line in the world. NO, this product does NOT have an SPF in it...most of our day creams do not. that is what UV plus is for. the reason for this is to provide the maximum benefits of both a day cream and a sun screen. This cream is for RADIANCE....oily/combo/acne prone ppl should not use this. this is for lack of radiance, dull complexion. application is key....take about a pump and half into the hands, warm it up (heat activates ingredients), and PRESS INTO THE SKIN WITH HANDS, USING PALMS AS WELL. the rubbing technique does nothing. after pressing, lightly sweep the product so it absorbs quicker (if using a night cream, you would want to only press and let the skin just drink it in). and ALL of Clarins products have a natural scent. no perfume added. Clarins is the first line to opt for plant extracts over chemicals (yes, the organic junkies have us to thank), so anything that you would smell from the product, is it's natural scent, therefore should not cause break-outs. also, since it's a natural scent, it will disappear within a few minutes.
This cream has a very high concentration of vitamins and minerals...14 to be exact, including calcium and zinc. 4 of the minerals strengthen and prevent further damage. it contains 8 grape extracts that even out skin tone and minimize redness. it revitalizes dull, uneven skin and enhances optimum moisture balance.

First of all this does NOT have any sunscreen in it, THANK GOD! Most moisturizers with sunscreen have a very low SPF, if you are like me and you wear 50 or 60 SPF, you want a moisturizer that you can wear under heavy sunscreen.
This is quite expensive, about $76 CAD, but it lasts for months. It is amazing, it really does brighten up a complexion. It wears very well under makeup, and keeps my face moisturized all day. I use the Clarins night cream as well. Sometimes I have dry spots on my face, but that never happens with this. While yes, it is expensive, I think the whole Clarins line is amazing. Within a couple of days of using their products, my skin was smoother and moisturized.
I also use the Clarins Colour Tint tinted moisturizer over this. If you want a great day cream without SPF, this is the one. I am in my early 20s and this is a great cream to prevent wrinkles.
I have normal skin, sometimes dry, sometimes really oily, but this is just calming and doesn't have a strong disgusting scent ( I am highly allergic to perfumes). It almost doesn't have a smell at all.
Please try this, but be careful, if you fall in love, it is $$$$.

The idea of a moisturizer for the morning without an SPF to me is ridiculous. Clarins always focuses on good skincare, but not to include essential sun protection makes this product unusable for daytime. This initially stopped me from using it. Thankfully I received a sample size so I didn't waste my money. I found the cream to be very thick and ideal for a night cream (which is how I finished the tube) but too highly fragranced. On someone wih oily skin I can see this cream being problematic. I didn't notice any brightening effect at all, although it did moisturize nicely. I will not purchase a full-sized tube of this product as I would have to wear a sunscreen underneath it. continued >>

I got a small tube (5 ml) of this as a GWP. It moisturises very well, but leaves my face a little greasy.
Once the cream has absorbed it's a good base for makeup. I still wouldnt buy it, because I think it would have made me break out if I'd used it over time.
