I was going on a beach trip with my friends and, I know it's sad, but I didn't want them to see my naturally frizzy, wavy, GROSS hair. I straighten it every day so it was already fairly damaged before I relaxed it. I am white and was a little concerned about using a product designed for African-American hair, but I have to say I was very impressed with the results. I followed the directions EXACTLY (very important) the night before I left for the beach. The first day, it felt a little dry and I noticed that I had a fair amount more split ends than I did before (but this could have just been due to the fact that my hair was already damaged). I swam in the ocean that afternoon and when I got out, my hair felt like HAY. Literally. It was gross. But I took a shower and used a TON of conditioner, then brushed it after. I am telling you-- it dried pin straight, as if I had just straightened my hair. Though my hair did feel a little gross for the first few days, it LOOKED straight and healthy. That was in April... it is now July and it is STILL WORKING! My hair now looks beachy and wavy (not straight anymore), not frizzy and out of control. I have no problem showering and going out right after, because I know my hair will always dry nice. Aside from a little damage and weird feel for the first few days, this didn't burn me (I didn't even wear the gloves upon application :/), make my hair fall out, or have weird effects at all. I will definitely be using this again. Hope this helps!

I enjoy using the dr. miracle products, so when I stumbled across this relaxer I wanted to try it right away. I found that the instrucitons were easy to follow, but within a short period my scalp was burning. My hair did become alot straighter/relaxed but I had a terrible burn on my scalp. Overall this product was just to strong for me.

i have naturally curly frizzy European hair. i have a lot of it and its medium to thick. i changed to this relaxer because the other one i used 6 months ago didnt really take at all.
the packaging is ok, the content and directions are fab, application and all that stuff is straight forward. but the result was shocking. my hair hasnt been this damaged in 6 years when i bleached it from natural brunette to blond 3x in one week. its brittle, dry and haylike. if my hair at least was bone straight now, but nope, that didnt take either. i had to get my hair cut now because my ends (about 2-3inch) were completely damaged and irreparable. now im gonna have to give my hair a 30min-native-oil-treatment before washing each day to moisturize it again.

NEVER EVER AGAIN.

I use this product three times in one month to get all of my hair straight. I had to move from the regular to the super to get the job done and I have never used a super in my life. Now I dont want to discourage anyone from trying it because it is not that bad, jus not for me. I feel if you have fine or thinning hair, this relaxer would suit you. I have thick med. texture hair w/ alot of waves. I feel like this is one of the best relaxers when it comes to scalp protection. I feel that all of Dr. Miracles products are more or less to keep the scalp healthy. With all this said its aight and worth a try.

In the kit, you will get

1. No Lye Relaxer Creme
2. Activator
3. Color Warning Conditioning Neutralizing Shampoo
4. Relaxed Hair Potion
5. Protective Gel
6. Protective Gloves, Mixing Spatula and directions

I started using this relaxer after Raveen was taken off the market. This is a standard relaxer, and it's gentle. The smell isn't overpowering, and it takes about 15 minutes to relax my medium texture, below shoulder length, wavy African-American hair.

It rinses easily with the neutralizing shampoo (enough comes with the kit to wash your hair a few times after relaxing); however, the first time I used the kit I followed directions and used the relaxed hair potion as a conditioning agent afterwards. Post relaxer my hair felt kinda dry and haylike. After I dried and styled, my hair was so static filled! This lasted until the next time I washed my hair. I tried contacting Dr. Miracle's company for an answer to no avail. For the times that I have relaxed since, I have just skipped the relaxed hair "potion" and just used my regular conditioner.

Based on my results, and not using the potion, I would say this is a great relaxer with real staying power. I apply it to my roots and midway down the shaft of my hair. The rest of the hair stays relaxed and straight, and applying relaxer to the ends will just make them split and frayed.

I am currently five months between relaxers (with the help of PhytoDefrisant Anti-Frizz relaxing balm), and my new growth is still soft, yet wavy.
