I am so happy to have found this soap! Up until now, Olivella fragrance-free was the only soap I could use on my whole body, but it started to have a disgusting smell that would sometimes linger on my body and always in my bathroom. I took a chance and ordered this soap, and I found I could use it without irritation on my whole body. It was a bit weird at first: it seemed a little drying and some of my eczema-prone patches itched a little, so I thought it would trigger an eczema breakout, but instead it seems to have healed them. In fact, one patch of eczema I've had on my back for over a year finally healed when I used this soap (I also used temovate, aloe, and shea butter, but I've been using those for a the whole time I've had the rash and it never quite went away until I started using this soap). In addition, the mild, chicken skin bumps I've had around my collar bone got a lot better with this soap. It also seems to travel fairly well. I'm really happy with it, so I hope that they don't change the formula and my body continues to tolerate it.

This is an ideal complexion soap for sensitive skin types. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the idea of washing with a bar of soap instead of liquid or cream cleansers and for people who want limited ingredients in their products. I do need to clarify that this is a traditional, old-fashioned soap made with vegetable oils and not a synthetic detergent soap like Dove, for example. For a true soap, it's extremely gentle and doesn't make my skin red, blotchy, itchy or tight-feeling. Anyhow, I've been using for several months with great results - my skin looks calmer using this than with traditional liquid/gentle face washes. It has a wonderful, rich lather and my skin feels cleansed but not stripped when I use it. I'd also feel comfortable washing a baby with it.
River Soap Company soaps are triple-milled, all-vegetable based and contain no perfumes or artificial colorants. All scents come from essential oils or botanicals used. This particular formula is creamy in color and there's not much of a scent to it - the vegetable soap base is most predominent and I can pick up a faint trace of almond and honey also.
Ingredients as listed on wrapper: "all vegetable french milled soap with powdered milk, pure honey and sweet almond oil. fragrance free. "
