The hot pink box caught my eye at TJ Maxx and I wasnt looking for another straight iron since I already had one. I have used my revlon hair straightner for four years and never had any major complaints with it. Although, my hair was never perfectly straight and straighting is time consuming since it doesnt get very hot. Since I started college I thought about buying a CHI to save time, but I wasnt willing to pay the high price and I dont have a job. I bought this iron for $30 and it was well worth it. I spend less time and the design is pretty.I payed about the same for the revlon and the quality of the BLS is way better. Comparing this to a CHI, the CHI does get hotter.

But if you dont want to pay the high price, I definitley reccomend this over the other brands.

Ok, call me crazy. I've tried a Solia, GHD, Le Angelique, and a CHI and didn't like the way my hair came out with either of them. I purchased this one to be the cheap flat iron I take with me in my gym bag, on trips, in my purse/car w/e, to use. Would you believe I love this thing??? I cost me 32 or 35 bucks (can't remember). I found it in the hair care section of Marshall's!! The box was cute enough, the flat iron was attractive (it's pink), the customer service rep said I could bring it back with the receipt, it had the tourmaline/ceramic plates I've been looking for, and temperature control, so I figured; Why not?
It gets HOT! It goes up to 410F and of course I turned it all the way up like an idiot. It didn't burn my hair but it smoked enough to scare me so I turned it down to what I think is 375F. It got my hair straight from the root to the tip! The plates move, like the Solia and GHD, so contact between hair and plates wasn't a problem. It's 1" size made it really easy to maneuver. My hair wasn't as shiny as I like(but I'm guessing it's because I tried out Henna hair color) but the straight texture was just what I like...not too straight. It's bouncy, holds it's shape very well, is easy to curl with, and didn't fry my hair. It does get hot on the outside after awhile, and it doesn't cut off automatically if left unattended, but otherwise, it's a great iron.
So, until I find that perfect iron, I'll be using this one. Based on the reviews, I'm tempted to give the GHD styler another try.
