Horrible product. This lasts all over 15 minutes on me. The lipsticks including the new rouge pur just disappear on my lip within 30 minutes the most. I think this is disgraceful. I have used their lipsticks for 20 years and now all of their lipsticks are just terrible quality.

This is a really beautiful color, it's like a rosy-maroon color. It's really flattering on all of my makeup looks and goes with everything. The packaging is to-die-for gorgeous. The only bad thing about this lipstick is the lasting power isn't long. It only stays on for an hour or so, but it's still worth buying and is my favorite out of all my lipsticks.

Its not beige on me at all. Its a dusty pink..more dusty than pink (if that makes any sense). I could call it a nude shade, only that its very opaque and higly pigmented. Most pinks wash me out but not this one. it looks satiny. Nothing wow or MLBB about it. I would wear it when Im not in the mood to pick a color. This can go with just about anything. One or 2 swipes are more than enough on my lips.
Something about the packaging: The color behind the YSL logo is pretty close to what the lipstick is. So, kinda make sup for opaque packaging. Not a huge deal, but I notice the little things in life ;)

Now this is a tuff review.... First let me start by saying I LOVE YSL RV's but this is not the best color for me. When I applied this l/s it matched my already beige lips. When I swatched it in the store on my hand, I could see a deep plum pink...so I thought humm this is a good one, until I put it on my lips at home. I think this color will suit lips that are pink or if you use a pink pencil as a base. I could never wear this l/s alone.

UPDATE: Ok, I wore this all day yesterday. I went to a meeting and after much talking and two cups of tea, this l/s was still on. A bit faded, of course, but pretty much still there. No dryness, either. On the contrary, my lips felt perfectly comfortable even after it faded a bit. I LOVE to reapply it, it feels so good. Makes my lips look lovely. Do not over-apply. It won't look good. I'm sorry it doesn't work for everyone. I love it.
I bought this last week, when I was in Charleston. It was my 'travel splurge.' They had testers at the store, and at first I went for #4 Sweet Honey. But it was too beige and it left me with the much-dreaded 1960s fish-lips. Ew. Colors like that always make me look dead, especially in artificial light.
So I decided to try this one, instead. MUCH better. It's not exactly nude (too dark). And not exactly beige, in spite of the name. On me, this is a brownish pink. A little more on the peach side than I would have liked, but still a very nice shade. Very wearable for day time, but it also looks good in artificial light.
The texture, as everybody else said, is buttery, creamy, luxurious. And I don't exactly know what it is about it, but it makes my lips beautifully defined, though not in a magic-marker way. I'm sorry I can't explain it better. It looks like my lips were made up by a professional MU artist. As the poster before me said, it makes your lips look luscious. Hubby just told me my lips look model-like. Hey, who could ask for more? :)
It's very, very pigmented, so one swipe is all you need. I just applied it so I'll keep you posted about the staying power. It feels very comfortable. Pricey (hence only 4 lippies), but hey, it's YSL, so I didn't expect it to be cheap. And the package is gorgeous. I don't think it's tacky at all. More like a Victorian luxury object. I'll keep you posted.

MLBB! Yahoo! This is what I hoped 01 Nude or 02 Sensual Silk would look on me. Those were too chalky my naturally pale mouth just vanished.
On me it was a nude brown mauve that made my lips luscious!

A safe beigey mauve, which is probably why I chose it at the time. But, alas, it doesn't do anything for my skin tone and I haven't been using it much. The lightweight slippery feel of the lipstick, while pleasant at first, starts to annoy me after a minute or so, and I usually blot or lick it off. (It tastes sweet, and has a fruity, mango scent.) So it doesn't last long on me at all, and -- for all that silky slickness -- it doesn't leave my lips moisturized. [Edit: Gave it away. Wasn't right for me.]

With so many RVs to choose from, I'm basing my review solely on the color, not on the formula of the lipstick. There are many shades in this line, so I feel like there's a color to suit most everyone. While this one shade wasn't for me, I definitely want to start by saying that the RV line is amazing and so very unique. I've truly never experienced another lipstick like this in terms of texture especially.
This shade is very boring to me. I'm dark skinned and maybe that has something to do with how it totally washed me out. It almost seemed to turn orangey on me, in a way that I found unflattering. I didn't sense as much of a white/light undertone with this as I do with #1 Nude Beige or obviously the cool pinks (#7, etc). But this shade just seemed very boring and dupeable. If you like MAC's endless list of nude shades, you're bound to find a dupe. I can't really see a reason to spend $34 on this lipstick if the shade doesn't differentiate itself in some way. I agree with the reviewer who said Angeline Jolie's lips are similar to this color (or rather, her "look" would utilize this color).
Again, just the color alone is not working for me. Most of the other factors (texture, wear time, overall joy of use)...are spot on for this line IMO. (The packaging is the one thing I would prefer less of; while pretty, it's just too bulky now for me...i'd prefer a lighter, less bulky tube.)

I have used this L/S for a week now, love the texture and the color. The only problem is the staying power,I have to reapply it every 2 hours. But the packaging is so pretty,I think that's the real reason why I bought it.

Received as a present. The lipstick is quality, and the color looks good on me. However, I don't find the color or formula exceptional enough to justify the price. It did not wear better or longer than the $24 lipsticks I own. It doesn't make my lips look prettier than say, a Stila lip glaze, or a Shiseido lipstick.

I personally like the packaging of these lipsticks. They are so boldly tacky that when you pull it out to apply in public, you can't decide whether to feel snobby or embarassed LOL. Color-wise, I don't see any beige in this at all, though its called "Ultimate Beige". Its more of a medium pink on me, and I don't see much brown. I think there are other colors that are more neutral than this one is on me, but it is a very nice color nevertheless, though in general I prefer for my pinks to have more brown in them than this one does. It applies like a dream though, and feels very luxurious. Lasting power is average. I wanted the Mahogany and Brown colors, but those were both waaaayyy too screamy and dark on me, and the Honey and the pinks were just too chalky looking for my taste. Ultimate Beige is a happy medium, though I'd not call it "neutral". I paid $39.00 for mine today at one of the Pleasanton, California Sephora stores. I would repurchase if I had the money at the time I needed another one.

i had some credit so i figured i'd try this out without any high expectations. i heard it's too expensive, you use it up real fast and it doesn't last long. it's all true. i only like this shade so far. i normally wear pinky beige colors like mac hug me. mac l/s are mostly drying that's why i usually get lustres. bad thing about lustres is that they are sheer and my lips are pigmented so i really have to swipe it on a couple of times. i bought a dior high shine, i love how they are not drying but again they are pretty sheer and i use those up pretty quickly. i really like ysl ultimate beige because i just have to swipe it once and it's already very pigmented. the finish is like a mac satin and i usually avoid mac satin l/s because they are drying, the ysl feels like a lip balm. they said its not long lasting, personally, lipsticks don't last long on me anyway. i'm always drinking and eating. they say you use it up quickly, well i don't like collecting l/s till they go bad and i'm always buying l/s. it's is expensive but this delivers what i want, non drying and great pigmentation even for a nude l/s. as for packaging, i'm not crazy about it, i prefer dior's packaging but i love the convenience that you can see the color on the packaging. would i purchase it again, yes i would because i stick to the same kind of neutral shades, i only which they had more neutral wearable shades. it has a faint floral scent but dior addict l/s is a much strong purfumey smell and taste that i cannot stand. the ysl has a bit of a taste, i can't figure it out, a bit sweet but it doesn't bother me as long as it's not purfumey.

The label says 'silky sensual lipstick" and this is exactly what it is. It goes on like silk and makes my lips feel sensual. I wanted to apply it again and again throughout the day. Very moisturizing. I agree with others in that this is hands down the best lipstick I have ever used in terms of texture and color..the color is a deep beige. HOWEVER, the smell of this to me is disturbingly like "Nair hair removal cream"! Im not kidding, this smells to me exactly like nair. I was turned off by this when I initially applied this but once its on I don't detect the smell anymore. It is also quite expensive. I think for the price, they could at least work on the smell. I took off one lippie for the scent/price factor. Other than that this is my perfect lipstick.

Well, I guess I'm in the minority here. While the texture is silky smooth and color very wearable, the perfumey smell/taste was an instant turn off for me. What's more, the color faded to barely a stain after 15 minutes. I kept feeling the urge to grab a tissue and rub it off. Save your money.

Got it because of all the positive reviews on MUA. Really didn't buy into the fancy package or the Kate ads. I fell in love as soon as I applied it. It's really the best lipstick I've tried in a long time. All that's said about its softness, balmy texture, nourishing properties, creamy consistency is true. I actually felt the miracle ingredients right after I bought it. I kept on applying it and after 3 or 4 times my unsoft and winter dried out lips became rosy soft and nourished. This does feel like an extremely high pigmented lip balm. The staying power is superior, it does make it worth the money. Stayes on much longer than other soft lipsticks. I really love the fruity scent of the product, makes me feel beautiful. The package is posh and fancy, though really heavy for a simple lipstick, I would really prefer something lighter. It is an expensive product, but I believe that it is worth the money.
The colour: it's a dark deep beige, silky, shiny, but with no glitter. It feels classic and mature. As lots of other reviewers here, I've had the same idea of this color being very Angelina Jolie or posh-lip-girl style. Using a lip crayon, it's extremely easy to make lips fuller with this shade. I love it as a day lipstick, but also use it with a gold smoky eye makeup in the evening to look posh and flashy. Though I would really prefer the shade to be a bit lighter (like the caramel MAC by Emanuel Ungaro, though not as orangy).
Yes, it is ugly to realise that most of the price comes from the really posh package design and production, enormous advertising campaign and a large percentage of overrating, but such is life. I still love it and would probably buy other colours. Might also repurchase this one.

This lipstick has such a superior formula that it feels like a silky lip balm on the lips but delivers with an opaque finish. I got #3 which is a nice nude lip with a bit of color. It's not a chalky nude lip, but more of an everyday wearable color. I will get a lot of use out of this due to it being so neutral. The color reminds me of something Angelina Jolie or Sophia Loren would wear. You know those blessed with plump lips who don't flaunt it by wearing a bright lipstick, this is the color they would wear. It's a fleshy neutral. The packaging is gorgeous. The only drawback is the price.

Hmm, not sure about the packaging a bit flash for my taste. However, this shade is rather lovely- on my horridly pigmented lips it is a light, rose-nude, perfect with a smokey eye or for a very subtle yet sweet daytime look. I think this would good on warm or cool complexions though perhaps not on very tanned skins. This is the colour I wanted Josie Maran's Rumi Joon to be. Nice creamy texture, that is nicely moisturising without being heavy, only thing I'm not wild about is the melon-y fruity almost Bonne Bell taste, I prefer mint or rose, guess I'm old school like that.
