I found this in a local pharmacy when looking for the Monistat anti-chafing gel. All they had was this Lanacane one. It smells a bit chemically to me. It gives your skin an amazing smooth texture and diffuses the appearance of pores immensely. Between this and the Monistat one (I eventually got Monistat when Lanacane ran out), Lanacane is more pore-diffusing. I would not repurchase this or any other primer because I have personally noticed no difference in the wear of my foundation when I stopped using them (however, I will say my blush and contour fade much faster since I stopped wearing primer/anti chafing gel). I also had much less cystic acne since I stopped wearing primer. If you're not prone to breakouts from silicone products go ahead and try this Lanacane anti-chafing gel.
Wow.. where has this been in my life? I always had issues with my make up staying on my face, but with this product, I have no issues at all. I was skeptical at first... this wasn't meant to be used as a make up product, but
I read the raves on make up alley and thought I'd give it a go. And thank god I did! The packaging is awesome..very clean and sanitary. The gel glides on smoothly without irritating my super sensitive skin. And when I come home, I find that my make up has stayed on my face the entire day!!
Another awesome plus is that this product gets rid of my constant flaky dry spots! The only downside of this product is definitely the price. 10 dollars may not be too bad, but for a thrifty person I wasn't super excited. But so worth every penny!
This is fantastic as everyone says as a primer. I've used Smashbox before and I honestly don't see/feel ANY difference between the two AT ALL. I got a big tube at K-mart for $8 and it will easily last me a year. When using primer, you only need a dollop about the size of a pea to cover your whole face (otherwise it can 'pill' and flake). This 1oz tube is awesome, cheap and effective! My makeup stays on alll day (MMU) and night until *I* take it off. As an aside, I manage a motel and as you can imagine I'm on the phone constantly. Most of my makeup would be long gone by noon without a primer due to all the time spent on the phone...so it's a blessing!

I was originally looking for the Monistat but couldn't find it and saw this one. So I purchased it and the price was good, around five dollars. I've heard a lot of people saying how these anti-chafing gels compare to a high end primer so that's why I was looking for the Monistat one. You get a lot for a small price. This is a clear gel and when you rub it in it leaves a soft velvety finish. I tried this on my face and I must say I was impressed! I put this on after my moisturizer and I didn't need a lot to cover my whole face. It filled in my flaws and made my face appear to look and feel soft. It also made my foundation go on smoothly and I used less foundation with this. All in all I'm glad I tried this and I recommend it! And it's cheap!

This is great and CHEAP!! Like 9 bucks at Walgreens. I'd say it works a tad bit better then smashbox. Most definitely buying this again.

Amazing!
Comes out a gel but feels like a slicky powder - foundation glides to perfection on your face. So light weight and comfortable you don't even know its there.
Can't find the Monistat Anti-Chafing? Who cares just by the Lanacane!
2 Thumbs Up!
Will never buy an expensive primer again.

I originally wanted to try the monistat anti-chafing powder gel but couldn't find it. But tried this because I found it @ the grocery store for $6.50. I've tried a few primers but I really loved this stuff. My makeup went on flawless & did not get oily at all. I do not have very oily skin but with other primers I'd get oily after awhile. I did use a moisturizer first before applying. I will continue to by this & maybe try monistat if I find it. I got compliments on how great my makeup looked. Thanks MUA continued >>

Alright...when I first read all the good reviews on using this as a primer, I really thought you all were crazy, BUT I decided to put all your good reviews to the test. This stuff is great! It goes on so silky and leaves my skin silky as well. My makeup goes on smoothly and it truly keeps my face oil free all day. Thank You to all you MUA ladies...you know what you're talking about!

Primers are crazy expensive, but with my oily skin I can't live without them! My very favorite is Too Faced, but it's spendy & I have to pack a lunch for the trip to get it. Because of that, my "everyday" primer has been the great, but pricey Smashbox. When I stumbled on the reviews for Lanacane here, I figured there was nothing to lose. I could not be happier! I still love my Too Faced, but this is perfect for every day. The price is right and I actually prefer it to Smashbox.
Bonus! I have a terrible time with bracelets and watches. They turn quickly and I experience burning contact dermatitis. I rub this into my wrist in the morning when I do my face and I can finally wear my jewelry again!!! I would never have tried that with a regular primer, but I can use this stuff much more lavishly. Thanks MUA! continued >>

Picked this up as it appears to be the US version of Monistat chafing gel that people are using in place of Smashbox primer.
I've used it for a few days now and it's fabby! Better than Smashbox, it gives a smoother finish to apply your foundation. I think they've clocked on and put the price up though - it was £6.15 at my local chemist but it used to be around the £4 mark.
Having said that, for 30ml, it's still a cracking bargain and does the job perfectly. My foundation stayed put all day and it hasn't clashed with my skin at all, what more could you ask for?
