I tried various lip balm brands and types, and so far Blistex Deep Renewal is the only one that actually made my lips less dry for good. Most other lip balms are able to soften, moisturize, and protect my dry, chapped lips, but once I stop using them the dryness goes back. I bought Blistex because it claimed it'll reduce the lines, and to be honest I think it has lived up to its name. The skin on my lips peel a lot, leaving many deep lines, and it looked like prunes. After about a few weeks or so of Blistex I think it really did visibly improved the situation. Even without applying the lip balm constantly, my lips are no longer parched and feel alot softer than it did before. The lines are also reduced, at least so I feel. I'd definitely buy this product again.

My lips never really get chapped, ever. But, my husband and I just got stationed in Germany from Arizona, so my lips and skin were as dry as tree bark. I bought this in desperation (I just grabbed the first thing I saw) and I'm so glad I did. It smells amazing and is smooth not greasy. It cured the dryness and flakes within 4 days. Now I just hope I don't lose this tube... it seems like I can never use up a whole tube before I lose it.

So I bought this product on a whim. I was at my local drugstore, desperately trying to find something for my wrinkly, dry lips (I'm only 21 and I have a lot of wrinkles ON my lips =/ ). I went in looking for something else, and left with this because it claimed to be anti-aging and contains hyaluronic acids.
Initially, it caused my lips to peel A LOT and it didn't seem to be working (as other reviewers have mentioned). However, I stuck with it and now I feel like it did a good, decent job moisturizing.
I'm really sad to say, that I don't think it did a good job with my lip lines. And the stinky part is that is entire reason why I bought this balm.
I'm still debating whether or not I will purchase another tube of this (as my current one is almost done). If anyone has any better suggestions (drugstore preferably) PLEASE send them my way.

I bought this product thinking this product would work, it didn't. my lips became more drier, very sore, red, I am guessing I have an allergic reaction to some ingredient in this product. I went back to another Blistex product I had been using and I am finally feeling relief.

I slick this on before bed and wake up with moisturized, happy lips. It feels thick when you first put it on, which I love. This lip balm is scentless and tasteless, and I like the lipstick tube- like packaging. I can't speak to how well it combats aging or any of the other claims it makes, but it feels great and I will continue to repurchase.

I love this stuff. Easy to apply and it moisturizes. I even put it over lipstick. I don't like anything greasy, sticky, or waxy. I've never had a lip balm that I was so enamored with that I would buy again, but this is it!

Cheap, effective, easy to use, spf 15. In a nutshell, this has all the features of a casual lip balm I am looking for. It has a slight citrusy-mint scent and mild sweet taste that I find very pleasant. It leaves my lips soft after it has worn off and it doesn't feel waxy or greasy. The formula is so nourishing and gentle that I even used it around my eye area in an emergency once when my skin had started to flake due to the dry winter winds. This is a must-have for me when I'm traveling. I use a lip tint in the morning then simply carry this around with me wherever I go.

At first I was really excited about this lip balm, because I thought it would really help my super dry lips, but the product did not absorb at all. It sat on my lips and would rub off within minutes. It didn't help with moisturizing much either.
It's okay if you're just applying it at night before bed, but don't expect anything amazing from it.

Horrid stuff. See other reviewers who said it made their lips drier than they'd been before they used it. People either seem to love this or hate it - maybe those of us who hate it have a sensitivity to an ingredient. Whatever - it is AWFUL. Does not moisturize, does not last, does not smell/feel/taste good, and comes in a really stupid lipstick-like tube that doesn't stay up when you twist it. I can't decide whether to return it to the store, call Blistex and demand a refund, or just bung it in the trash and be done. The thing is, I do this frequently with this cheap crap and end up wasting a ton of money, 2 or 3 bucks at a time, and I'm sick of it. This product does NOTHING that it advertises and they need to know that. Grrrr.

2nd Update, Jan 15, 2012 Stil loving this! Have written dozens of reviews, never one this long and for a lip balm?! But I not only bought another, I bought some for family members. I have to add I do have and at times use other balms as needed such as Burts Bees Lifeguard balm for the freezing cold windy days here in NYC. But indoors this is one of the most cosmetically elegant lip balms I have ever used. Now on to my review;. I'm editing an original review I wrote a few months ago. I feel I can do better now since I've used it on a regular basis. I like this lip balm a great deal. I have a medical condition that causes my moisture glands to cease functioning. I no longer have a natural moisture barrier on my hair, nor skin, eyes, nor lips. I have to have lip balms, and lip treatments on me at all times or my lips will be quite painful, dry even further then crack and even split. I carry water due to my dry mouth and have a lip balm attached to my water bottle holder, with at least one back up in my purse at all times. I try new balms as they come out when I think the formulation is applicable to my needs.
Friends and family also buy/send, all different types of lip balms knowing my predicament. I rarely repurchase because so few balms are exceptional to me. I need an spf for outdoors as well. I like this balm a lot and have not only re-purchased, I scooped out what was left in the tube from the first one I bought as well! Here is why this lip balm is a keeper for me:
-highly moisturizing. feels and looks somewhat glossy but is in no way greasy. usually shiny balms are greasy feeling, and tend to migrate around the mouth. not pretty!
-lasts a very long time on my lips. previously i could only say that of heavier, waxier, balms. this stays put as I'm running around doing errands and have no time to even reapply lip gloss
-the scent is a light spearmint, also usual in my experience. most mint balms tend to be peppermint. its unlike tingly mint balms which tend to make my lips feel ice cold when I'm out, I have difficulty tolerating any cold due to my aforementioned medical condition
-The feel is very comfortable. not cushy as say an Alba lip balm (not the spf versions which are harder). This simply feels nice going on, and the "bullet" of balm does not mush even when I apply pressure, or apply it a few times consecutively. I've had expensive balms just give way under slight pressure during application and never feel comfortable using again after that. I carried this around during warmer months and the texture did not alter, nor did it melt
-I actually like the case a lot while many prefer the standard cap-top lip balm packaging. I have lost many caps when keeping a lip balm in my pocket, or they come off in my purse and make a mess of things
-I feel as if my lips are generally in better condition over all from having used this for some time now. I have not paid attention to any line diminishing aspect so I really cannot compare my lips before and after, however, I think they look plumper, which of course makes lips look less lined. Lines on lips are not simply from aging and sun damage, though that can cause them and worsen existing lines, they are also a normal feature of lips. That said, because I have mostly been using this as my out door lip balm and Neosporin Daily Lip Therapy indoors (it is truly a treatment, my review on that attests to how well it works in that way), I don't think its currently fair for me to judge in that capacity just yet. However, I am going to use this as my sole lip product aside from lip gloss (I will continue to wear prior to applying lg) for the next month at least then update my review
-Initially I thought it a bit pricey for a lip balm but that was before I tried it. I found it this past weekend at Walmart where 2 tubes came in one package for $1.99 U.S. dollars. So I plan to stock up since they are 99 cents a piece basically. I paid about $3.99 for just the one originally so this was an incredible find
-In the January issue of Allure magazine renowned dermatologist Patricia Wexler lists ingredients to look for in a lip balm. She cited just one lip balm, this one and mentioned it contains hyaluronic acid and shea butter as well as an spf
I bumped this up to 5 star because while I currently have about 15 lip balms this is the one I keep reaching for again and again which for me says quite a lot since I have lip balms stashed everywhere!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!
So Id been looking everywhere for an spf containing lip balm that had no color/tint that moisturized my terribly dry lips. I bought everything, from $1 balms to $25 ones and nothing worked as well as this!
This is the only CLEAR lip balm that leaves my lips moist and pretty after it wears off, others leave it drier, cracked and peeling.
I use my Clinique's Lip Repairware at night and my lips are now transformed! My favorite TINTED lip balm is Neutrogena's Revitalizing Lip Balm (Black tube) in Sunny Berry!

This is my first Blistex lip product and definitely love it. I've tried Carmex, Burt's bees, Rosebud, Chanel and an unlisted brand cup cake lip balm from Jcpenny, I liked Rosebud the most before because it made my lip looking soft and little baby pink toned since I have darker lip color, no one made me feel so different though, most of them are just waxy and sticky, I couldn't imagine something really different until I got this one, now I know what is a real moisturizing feeling, it surprised me without making any waxy or sticky feel. SPF and price are plus, must try!

This product is so far the best lip balm ever! It's packed with alot of nice ingredients pushing the not-so-good stuff like petroleum toward the end of the list. It also doesnt dry my lips out after it wears of and actually makes them softer and smoother. Everyone should give this a shot!

I alternate using this balm at night before bed with some of my other nourishing balms. I like it. I find it doesn't deposit much product on to my lips with just swiping from the tube so I scrape some off and apply a thick layer before I go to sleep. In the morning my lips are soft and plump. I use something else during the day time so I don't care about the SPF. It has a sweet smell and slightly sweet taste that goes away after a while. I can't say how long it lasts because I am usually sleeping when I use it. Of course I enjoy the packaging, I like balms that come in this type of tube because they are easy to apply and open.

So, I've had a hard time finding a good lip balm that really hydrates and moisturizes my lips. I gave this product 3 lippies because of the HORRIBLE sun protection it offers; might as well not put the SPF 15 label on there. I layer another lip balm with actual sun protection (banana boat sport which contains avobenzone for spf) over this during the day. Don't be fooled by deep renewal it promises because it doesn't absorb very well. However, I recommend this product if you're looking for something super cheap ( $1 something at Target) and offers average hydration for lips. Those reasons are also why I will buy again.

I'm still searching for lip balm that I like. This one won't do. It glides on easily- too easily. I'd like it more if the product absorbed into my lips better; as I don't like to reapply often.

This product feels like thin wax on my lips. It wears off within minutes, and it makes my lips even drier than before. Even my boyfriend complains when this is the only chapstick on me. The 1$ chapstick is even better than this crap.

About 6 months ago I discovered that I have an allergy to something (wish I knew which ingredient for sure) in many lipsticks now. Due to the allergy, my lips became extremely blotchey, rough, and raw. I was a mess!! Nothing helped restore my lips back to normality like this Deep Renewal! I am literally on at least my 10th tube!
I use it alone or layer it under glosses. It's smooth, not waxey and there's virtually no scent or taste for those who are particular about that. I hope this product is on the market for the long term because I do not know what I'd do without it!
The best place to get this product is at Wal-Mart. I believe it's only $2.78 there or less. I would've rates the packaging a 5, however the cap can slide off at times. Only (slight) negative to the prod.

On my 2nd tube. I apply this all throughout the day at work. Not really as moisturizing as I prefer in a 'chap stick'. But the sunscreen in it and the coq-10 are total pluses. They are on the right track with this one. I'm all about multitasking, and if you're going to use a plain 'chap stick' you might as well use this instead and reap some benefits while you're at it.
