this curling iron is awesome. it gets super super hot within a minute. it is not ceramic coated so your hair doesnt slide out. I have never been able to get my hair to hold a curl until i started to use this iron.

I purchased this iron from Sally's. I got the 1.5'' gold iron.
Yes, it gets really hot and the temperature control is nice.
I did find that the thumb grip does get hot though too. The plastic covering is not enough to hold up the the heat..so, that was worrisome.
also, my hair holds curl really well but for some reason, it did not hold at all with this iron. my conair ceramic holds better than this one. i don't know what the deal is?
i'm going to try and return this to sally's. after tax, etc it cost about $40 and i can get Hot Tools from folica for cheaper.
It did not work for me, but it may work for others. give it a try, i guess? it is made my hot tools, so it should be good, right?

My gosh! I LOOOVVVEEE this hair curler!! It's amazing & perfect!!
Before I bought this one, my parents bought me a 3-set of Revlon haircurlers in different sizes, y'know? They sucked. The 3/4" curler actually worked best outta all of them but I wanted large & loose curls. The 1" curler was ok, it's performance was average. It seemed the curls I made with it didnt last that long & this snagged & pulled my hair. It was decent, overall. But the 1-1/4" curler (I think that's the size) was just absolutely HORRIBLE! The worst performance ever!! It cant even hold on to my hair to even start curling, it doesnt curl whatsoever, all it did was heat up my hair. Absolute waste of materials & for the company.

Then just yesterday, I bought this! I heard so many raves about it & saw how good it was from hair-curling videos on pursebuzz.com. It made gorgeous curls. Bought it for US$35 + a warranty 'cause I heard a couple of stories where people loved this curling iron so much but all of a sudden it didnt heat up as usual & kinda broke down. The warranty was only US$5.99 so I figured, "Why not? It's a good investment". I was super excited to use this when I got home. I plugged it in right away. When I used it, it was so smooth & so EASY to use! It glides through my hair sections. It heats up super quick & has a 5-star performance. It does the job, holds a curl, & makes super beautiful nice, large curls. But unfortunately for me, my hair simply cannot hold a curl for long without some type of spray. So I have to use TRESemme Thermal Creatioins Curl Activator spray. There! So now my hair can be filled with beautiful curls. COMPLETELY RECOMMEND. continued >>
