Oh, how I wish Starflash eyeshadows would return! Mink & Sable is a great example of MAC at its best. It's a complex khaki colour that's a pleasure to work with. continued >>

I received this in a swap from a super sweet MUAer, and I would never have believed that a greeny gold shadow could be so flattering on me, even though I was very keen to try it. The fact is that it is absolutely stunning! It makes my hazel brownish greenish eyes totally jump out as green, and the shadow has a stunning sheen to the finish. I love it! Thank you sweet Cathleen!

I recieved this in a swap. It is such a beautiful golden-green-brown color. It 's quite pigmented, because of the Starflash finish. Unfortunately, I cannot really pull off green shadow, but I will sometimes wear this in my out v of as a liner with something underneath like UD Mildew or Stash. It is nice to have other higher end colored shadows though, but I will probably never finish this up.

I have really fallen for this shadow! I found it at my local CCO, and when I first laid eyes on it, it was kind of intimidating. It looks pretty dark and 'ehh' in the pan, but when swatched - ohh yes! I just love the shimmery golden green beauty of this one! Alot of days for a simple smoky eye, I will pair it with a light paint pot, and Vanilla pigment.. a little black liner and mascara, and there you have it.. a quick, easy smoky look to wear anywhere. It's very versatile with many outfits, and you can add a twist to the usual brown or black smoky eye that can get so 'blah' sometimes. Gorgeous color!!

Finally hit the pan on my Sumptuous Olive and was humming over repurchasing it, but I read the great reviews on Mink & Sable and thought I would give this a try. I found it on Ebay for a great deal and I'm so impressed!! The colour is a gorgeous mossy olive green with bronzey brown undertones and gold shimmer! Really plays up my green eyes and it's such an easy colour to wear. For day time looks I apply this shadow over my usual Painterly Paint Pot with Mystery in the crease. For dramatic evening or going out looks I use my NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in either Dark Brown or Black Bean. It looks so smokey, yet elegant and beautiful layered with the Jumbo Pencil and Mystery or Carbon in the crease.
Overall I great find and thanks MUA for steering me towards this gem! continued >>

This is a gorgeous antique-y olive green with sophisticated shimmer.

It also has the Starflash finish, which is described as a "creamy, highly metallic finish." That is completely accurate! The shadow also blends pretty well and is in the sturdy MAC container. I also picked this up at my local CCO for $10. :) continued >>

Lovely subtle glinting golden olive green, this color is beautiful and blendable and buildable. Dark enough for a crease color but also works as lid color, very close to sumptuous olive color but glintier. I like it a lot and think it has loads of potential with different shades and bases.

I found this color at a CCO and it didn't really stand out that much except that it was an interesting antique green bronze color so I swatched it and was pleasantly surprised! It is an awesome color alone or used in the crease, I love it and its blendability!

Nice enough shade, I don't think I have tried it enough yet but on its own it looks pretty. I used it today over soft ochre and it really pops but not in an overpowering way. It made my dark brown eyes look more golden. Looks more yellow over woodwinked. am trying over smut next....will update.
UPDATE: For me this shade looks best over a dark brown...you can really make the colors stand out over a dark base. there is more depth of color. Over black is ABSOLUTELY stunning...a smoky, dark golden green shade. Unfortunately, it's not practical for everyday. On its own I canwear this pretty much anytime. it's subtle but still noticable and very pretty. Once again, MAC has really come through for me.

Just picked this up at the CCO for $10. Love this colour, beautiful olive green with gold undertones. I wear it over greenstroke paint pot with gold eye shadow, looks gorgeous.

E.L.F.'s Sage eyeshadow is an excellent dupe for MAC's Mink & Sable. The only significant difference is that M&S has more of a golden sheen/shimmer. Both are antiqued olive greens. Click to see swatches of both and full review continued >>

I bought this thinking it may be like sumptuous olive, but it's much better and a different tone. Starflash is a great texture, and I think I may love it more than veluxe pearl.

This is an olive shade with gold undertones. In the pot, the gold undertone isn't visible but once applied on my NC42 skin, you can see it well. I thought it would be darker but I still like the look. It's very shimmery outdoors due to the gold flecks but indoors, it is a pretty subtle look on my skin tone. I like to pair it with a mossy green in my outer v and crease. I probably would buy this again. It's pretty smooth and blendable.

So I recently got this and I love it, I put on Grand Entrance and this in the outer middle of the lid, so pretty!! one of my new favs. I skipped SO because everyone said that they were sim. and that it was sim. to Henna, I picked up Henna as well because that was more goldy, Mink&Sable has a lovely olive green tint to it! Love it! continued >>

First off, I don't own Sumptuous Olive, so I can't compare it w/ Mink & Sable. But I do own GREENSMOKE (it was my HG MAC e/s), but the texture turns me off! It takes a couple of layers for the color to show up. Now I have Mink & Sable, I don't have to waste my time w/ greensmoke in the morning anymore = ="
MAC: Please make more colors of STARFLASH finish. continued >>

I love love love this eyeshadow! I agree with others that it is better than Sumptuous Olive and Greensmoke, but if you happen to own either of these two you might not need to get this. It's similar to the Vintage Gold pigment, but a little more green. If you love green shadows, you will love this color! (Green lovers will also looove Antique Green pigment...but that's another review.) The starflash texture is amazing to work with and the shimmery army green/gold color looks great with my hazel/green/grey eyes. I think M&S looks great as a lid color (even though I'm really pale) or as a crease color or liner. I really wish they would make the starflash line permanent (I wish I could've snagged Smoke & Diamonds), but for now I will have to be happy with the colors I found still in stock online. BTW they still have this one on the MAC website :)
Oh and layering this over Sweet Sage fluidline as a base will make the green in this shadow pop even more. Layered over Base Light paint (more of a yellow/gold) the gold in this shadow will be more visible. continued >>

Mink & Sable looks like a golden, olive green in the pan, but on my lids, it is much more green than golden. When applied, I would compare the color to Greensmoke, although the Starflash texture is much smoother than Greensmoke's lustre finish. Others have also compared this shade to Sumptuous Olive. In the pan, it looks very similar, but Mink & Sable is darker on the lids than SO. It's a nice shade, but I returned it because it's so similar to the Sumptuous Olive and Greensmoke shades I already have. continued >>

I love all the Starflash eyeshadow textures. This color is a pretty olive, definitely wearable on a daily basis. It's lighter than the Vintage Gold pigment, and not that pigmented, but buildable. Very subtle shimmer.

For evening looks, I tend to adore very dark eye shadow in the crease of my lid when I'm looking to get dressed up - almost like an accessory. This shadow works well when trying to achieve that - especially during the autumn...As others mention, it's a blend of olive green and gold... I didn't find it to be very heavily pigmented, so I've been adding a bit more than i normally would, but whether applied with a light or heavy hand, it still seems to look chic.
