I received a sample of this at Sephora. It is AMAZING. This botanical relaxing balm is the only thing that makes straightening my wavy, thick, long hair easy. It is expensive, but worth every penny to me. I put a quarter-size amount on damp hair, comb through, and blow-dry while brushing my hair with a regular brush. That's it. I go over my hair a little with a straightening iron and I'm done.
I've used several different straightening balms, from drug-store to higher-end, and they all resulted the same - me having to section my hair, blow-dryer in one hand, round-barrel brush in the other, attempting to straighten for 20-25 minutes while I sweat and turn red from all the heat. And I STILL end up with bumps underneath.I am amazed with how well this works and will keep buying it.

Love this stuff, it just makes my hair behave. Helps with frizz. One of the few items that I actually repurchased because of a sample from Sephora.
NC25 Chinese, wavy thick hair in dry climate, acne prone.
Makeup/skincare ingredients heavy on dimethicone causes breakouts, so I was careful to choose a non-cone hair product for blowouts. In fact, I brought it 2x to my stylist as the only product she can use. I was excited she liked it, and she got my hair shiny and smooth w/out frying my hair (blowdryer only, no flat iron). So I figured great, got stylist approval...
EXCEPT after 2 weeks, where my Phyto coated bangs are touch my forehead and one side of my face, I am breaking out! I go 2-3 days in between washings, so possibly that's it... but my only other option left is to try the John Masters Organics Shine On gel... cross fingers.

This has quickly become an HG for me and I hope it continues to work for me in the summer as well when my hair is at its hardest to manage. I love that you can put this on wet hair. I do find that my hair is less frizzy and it has become easier to work with. This product is pricey but so worth it!
Funny enough, I use this for my very fine, limp virgin hair. I usually use volumizing products, like some kind of intense mousse, but after staying at my parents over the holidays, all I could find in terms of styling products in the bathroom was this. I don't even put conditionner in my hair and have to use clarifying shampoo every time I wash it (once every 2 days), so for the most part, anything labelled for frizzy or coarse hair is usually a no-no for me.
I gave it a shot anyway, i squeezed out a quarter sized amount and applied it to the bottom half of my mid-length hair. It doesn't have a greasy, siliconey feeling, which I was very thankful for. It actually made my hair feel instantly "healthier" and have more substance, if that makes any sense. After blow drying, my hair was so shiny and full of body. I used it over the past week every time i washed my hair to see if it was a fluke and it was not! Even my mom commented how healthy and great my hair was looking.
I'm definitely purchasing a tube of my own as soon as I get back home. It does to my hair exactly what I've always wanting the volumizing mousse to do, with the added bonus of shine and healthy looking body.

Love this! I've been using it on my damp hair every time I wash it (about every other day) for a month and my hair is noticeable better! It's soft and smooth, which it didn't used to be, and it stays straight a lot better than it used to. I went out dancing last night and normally my hair would go frizzy/wavy/puffy after ten minutes, but I was out for four hours and my hair stayed close to perfect! I couldn't believe it. Very impressed. Definitely worth the $24, considering I once paid $200 for a brazilian blowout that did the same thing and didn't last as long as this tube wil last me.
I like to use a quarter-size amount of this for my long hair, and sometimes I add a small drop of LaCoupe Shine & Smooth Relax Straightening Balm. continued >>

My hair is very wavy and extremely frizzy. This doesn't weigh my hair down or make it look oily. It makes my hair soft and much more manageable. The only problem is I need to use a generous helping of it. It goes quickly but it's definitely worth it!

I tried this again after having used it years ago. I must say that it seems to be working! I have used it twice so far (wash my hair every other day.) it seemed a little better when I used a quarter size vs nickel size. I mixed it with some other products (gel one day and added serum the next time.) My hair is naturally wavy/ frizzy and just wants to revert to that condition if it's humid or as the day goes by. This helped to reduce frizz by quite a bit. Even if my hair got a little wavier it was not frizzy. I don't think it added shine, so I add other serums for that. The packaging could be better. The squeezable metal tube could crack with time. Phyto is pretty expensive but feels very luxurious to use. I will definitely repurchase!
I have very coarse, thick hair and this product is a lifesaver. I must say, however, that it requires quite a bit of product. Unlike other products, though, I don't have to worry about getting it too close to the roots. I apply it liberally on damp hair and blow dry with a ceramic brush in sections. My hair stays straight, soft, and shiny until I wash it. Also the metal packaging makes it really easy to squeeze all the product out, no waste.

I'm a little bit on the fence about this product. Yes, I like it that it's all natural and quite affordable in where I live, but it doesn't defrizz all that well. I'm pretty picky about what I put on my hair because I have big hair. Big as in after putting four different smoothing products, it'll stay big. When treated right, my hair will look sex-
kitten like (and that's the neatest I can achieve) but when
treated wrong, it's horrible. This product makes a great styling base but I still have to use a serum on top to polish the look because this balm doesn't take the dry look away from my hair. I might repurchase unless I find something better.
