I've used so many eyeshadows on the market from Dior, Givenchy, MAC, Guerlain Ombres, Estee Lauder- just to name a few. My favorite shadows are usually Estee Lauder and Guerlain Ombres, but, these LA Color palattes come in 2nd. For a lousy $1-$3 at our town's Family Dollar store you can find these. The Wine and Roses palatte is my favorite of all the palettes, but, our store hasn't had it in stock for a few months, more women must be finding it now. The pinks are very pigmented, shimmery and I think the applicators are made much better than EL applicators for sure (as my EL applicators end up falling apart) and the shades last all day even without primer. I'd highly recommend.

I personally love LA colors cosmetics. Many girls would probably say "im not buying cheap dollar makeup at the dollar store", but shockingly LA colors is one of my favorite brands, and I have tried many brands like L'oreal, Maybelline, color girl, Rimmel, Clinique, Jordana.. and I actually like the cheaper brands better! They work really well on my skin and I love it!!

HELL YES! Seriously - a pallet of eye colors for $1??? ONE BUCK AT THE DOLLAR STORE. Really? YES! I am a freak about makeup. Have been wearing makeup since I was a kid. Makeup needs to be perfect and not look cakey, fake, or cheap. I am incredibly particular and am known for having the perfect face on all the time. These L.A. Colors super cheap pallets are a staple of mine. FAR far better than MAC or any of the expensive department store brands. I have spent 30 dollars on eye shadow. And I have spent 1 dollar. And this one wins. I cover my entire lid with the pearl color as a base, and then use one of the darker shades for the lid, and then follow up with a smudged line of the deepest color along the lash line top and bottom. A faint dusting of pearl just underneath the bottom lid adds incredible shimmer and life to yoru face. I buy these half dozen at a time and pitch them out when the pearl color is gone. These colors are very intense and go on richly so you do not need to use much. Of course the secret to just beautiful, flawless application is to use a good BRUSH. Don't skimp on your brushes. Natural, soft bristles. Clean them and replace them often. Throw out the cheap little sponge applicators, and don't even try to use those. Just use a great brush. (Actually I keep one brush for the pearl and one brush for the other colors.) This line of shadows is an under-utilized weapon in your beauty arsenal in my opinion! These could be repackaged and given a name brand people would pay $30 for the pallet. Seriously. BUY IT, you won't be sorry!

I am totally in love with LA Colors.. I have alot of their cosmetic products & have enjoyed nearly all of them but i have to say their eyeshadows are probably their best products!
~~PRICE/AVAILABILITY~~
LA Colors 5 color Metallic palettes can be found in a few places. I can find some at my local Dollar General, Family Dollar, Five Below stores as well as online on la colors site & cherryculture. The price will vary depending on where you purchase these but i suggests looking in stores first. I pay around $1.50-$2 for mine which is a great price! i wish LA Colors was more accessible bc id own everything! The price is amazing and also, LA Colors is a cruelty free makeup company, HALLELUJAH!
~~SHADE/FORMULA/PERFORMANCE~~
The LA Colors 5 Color Metallic palettes are amazing. They all have 5 metallic like and coordinating shadows. The shadows are pressed well (there is a tiny bit of fall out but nothing i cannot handle), soft & easy to apply & blend. They all have a metallic finish as implied in the product name. But what i like (some may not) is that it seems most of the metallic/shimmer is at the top most layer of each shadow. The more you get through the shadows, the more matte they become. Meaning, they end up being more of a satin finish. The top layer is def more just of a shimmer/sparkle overlay then it becomes a more satin shadow. These apply easily and blend nicely without fading. I def suggests using an eyeshadow primer of choice to help with pigmentation & staying power esp if you have more oily lids. The pigmentation on these shadows is great! theyre super pigmented & show up on skin true to color in pan. Using a cream base will also help w/ pigmentation & also showing different undertones of each color. The staying power is also great with these shadows. For normal lids alone, these will last around 5-6 hrs before any fading occurs. W/ a primer, these will stay put for at least 8 hrs +. I love them! Wine & Roses is a great collection of purples & plums. This is def great for those looking to create any purple looks.
From left to right:
1st shadow- a light frosty lilac white frost shade
2nd shadow- darkened lilac purple w/ gray undertone/ medium taupe
3rd shadow- very similar to 2nd shadow, more of a wine plum purple
4th shadow- a medium purple
5th shadow- similar to 4th shadow but darker purple
As you can see, some of the shadows are close to each other but all 5 shadows are beautiful. These are great paired with any other shadows or alone for a more metallic purple look.
~~PACKAGING~~
The LA Colors 5 Color Metallic palettes come in the standard hard plastic rectangular compact. The lid is see thru w/ LA Colors logo. The back is black with clear sticker with shade name & product info/ingredients. Inside is where the goodies are- 5 circular pans of shadows. They are slightly bigger than dime size. Plenty of shadow in each. They have included a double ended foam tip applicators. The packaging isnt the prettiest but its practical & works. The compact is slim, can def be taken in your makeup bags. Ive traveled with these and have not had any problems.
Overall, Wine & Roses is a great purple plum palette with 5 gorgeous shadows that i reach for year round from summer to fall to spring. These are great paired w/ matte shadows or completing a look with this palette, whatever your hearts desire. The 5 Color Metallic palettes are amazing shadows and a really great value! i grab any that i can find! one of my favorite products from LA Colors & probably one of my favorite shadows overall! continued >>

Very good product for 1.50. I love buying palettes because you get so much more for your money. Even though these are inexpensive to began with. I do not normally wear LA Colors, just because I thought that it was cheap, so it would not be a good product. But I was proven wrong again. I have many LA Color products and they are all great

I really like these eyeshadows. I didn't think that they would last all day. I put it on in the morning and it's still there at night when I go to wash it off. A great deal for only 1.50 at the dollar store.

I purchased the L.A. Colors Wine and Roses pallet at The Dollar General for $1.50. An absolute steal!
The shadows are highly pigmented, go on smoothly (I always use a primer no matter what brand of shadow I'm using) and last all day. They are not sheer colors, they are very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. For $1.50 these shadows will last a long time!
Some of the colors appear sparkly, but aren't really sparkly, they are more shimmery (light catching) without noticeable specks of glitter upon application.
The best part about L.A. Colors in general? They DON'T test on animals!!!!!
I am a fan of all of the L.A. Colors Metallic eyeshadow pallets (including this Wine and Roses pallet) and I will be purchasing all that I can get my hands on! I highly recommend this product!

I bought this today from forever21. For the cheap price, I was quite impressed with the pigmentation of the eyeshadows, and they are surprisingly not chalky! However, you definitely need a primer with these if you want them to stay. Not the best, but what can you expect for the price? I really like the colours in this palette, I find that they're quite unique and I don't have anything else like them. However, I do agree with the comments that if you don't use these properly, you will look like you have a black eye. I would be interested in trying out other colours too. Overall, decent!

Pleasantly surprised for $1.50! Great pigmentation, good staying power. Obviously I don't wear all 5 colors at once, but wearing a few w/ UD sin, or MAC grand entrance, this makes a beautiful fall eye look. It says metallic, however its not over the top. As another review said, they do remind me of MAC's veluxe pearl. But all in all, a great buy!

I saw this at my local family dollar and thought "well why not?" It was only $1.50 and I was very intrigued by how metallic the colors looked. As soon as I got in to the car I swatched... and thats where it went downhill. The metallic that you see in the palette is ONLY on top of each eyeshadow, after that top layer they are still shimmery but nothing like what they make you think it is. The colors are just okay, A bright white a reddish purple and some browns. I don't see how the rose part comes in here at all no red or pink. The shadows themselves stay pretty well with a primer but the color payoff sucks, you have to pile it on and then it looks cakey no matter if you use it with mixing medium (wet), dry, packing it on or as a wash of color.

Excellent product! Great pigmentation. The texture is very similar to Mac's Veluxe Pearl Eyeshadow's textures. Very cute, and can come up with multiple looks using this palette! Worth the $1.50 I paid for it. Blends well together.

I love this pallette very much! The colors go on very highly pigmented, they wear all day, and don't crease at all. And, the wine and rose colors in this pallette really are universal.

I like this palette even more than Darling. These purple/plum colors are beautiful, nicely pigmented and have a pretty good texture. Be very careful of using the sponge applicator that comes with it, mine had sharp plastic edges.

this palette has all shades of plums and purples.
pro:
very pigmented
have fairly good texture... i.e. not horrible texture
good staying power
good color range for a smoky purple eye look
inexpensive, easy to find
con:
texture is ok not ideal
might give you a black eye look if you were not careful
might not be too versatile to use (all shades of purple)
can be a con: very shimmery and metallic.
overall, not bad!

This is so pretty. At first, I thought that the shades wouldn't favor my skin tone, but it ended up looking really good on me! I don't use the first shade, but I LOVE the other 4!!! Will definitely repurchase if/when I run out!
