Goes on like something's spoiled with a strange, sharp, woody sticky dusty note that screams off the skin sourly. Awful. Mellows in about 5 minutes to faint tuberose with wood undertones, but it's overcomplicated, murky and fussy. Not bad, but definitely not a favorite tuberose. Continues to change until it's soapy and ends up exactly like that pink granulated soap powder you used to get in public restrooms. Strange and not much to like even while it's not offensive. Weird experiement

A clone of tuberose, nothing is more boring than a classic tuberose.

This is a most unusual tuberose because it has such crisp, green notes. It does not have the sweet, heady tuberose notes like Fracas, carnal Flower, or even the unique SL Tuberose Criminelle. This is a pleasant, crisp floral, but not a true tuberose fragrance, to my nose. I definitely smell a hint of Osmanthus in this fragrance. It's clear and well executed, with reasonable lasting power.

this is a lovely, creamy, and buttery soft tuberose with a similar feel to l'artisan. although, on my skin, it has that boxed soapy feel to it. i thinks it is one of the nicer tuberose fragrances i have experienced. call me weird, but i like my perfumes with more of a kick. definitely try it if you love tuberose!

This one just did not do it for me. It is supposed to smell like tuberose but, on me, there is very little of the tuberose scent. Mostly, it just smells like a child's plastic doll that has been left out in the sun too long. Very plastic, artificial, synthetic scent.

This will be my last unsniffed purchase. It is a lighter version of Fracas to my nose(which I hate). There is nothing special about this scent and it's way over priced. You want an amazing Tubereuse fragrance then you must try Tubereuse Criminelle. Nothing like it out there. And I have tried every Tubereuse from every perfume house and Serge Lutens TC is the most amazing Tuberose ever. This one is BLAH.

Nope, not for me. I love me some white flowers and tuberose is my favorite. I like it when the blossoms are tempered by the greenness found in the actual blossoms and I thought that MPG would be it. However, there is something about this green that turns my nose - my mother smelled my wrist and she pinpointed it: smells like cilantro on the edge of going bad. So while I like it for being a green tuberose, it is just that particular kind of green with which I can't get down.

A georgeous scent! Love, love, love this! It's creamy buttery tubereuse goodness, so simple and pure yet so heavenly. Very feminine...if you do not care much for florals you will not like this one! But if you do - it's to die for!! I did not get any sharpness at all upon first spritz as others have indicated. From beginning to dry down, this is the same on me - very soft (but with lots of sillage), very feminine, very sexy!

Very sweet and creamy, a tiny bit green in the opening and for about 1 hour, then just heavy sticky sweetness for the next 3 hours, then a floral-vanillaish dry-down, not bad... but I preffer L'artisan Tubereuse.

Be it right or wrong, the reality is that we're definitely judged by how we present ourselves (classic, artsy, urban eccentric, grunge, etc.) and fragrance is a significant part of that....especially since it goes to such a core part of the brain. I think it can subtly, but critically alter how people perceive us. Courtney Love could go audition for the part of Scarlett in a remake of Gone With the Wind cursing and snarling all the way, but if she was wafting MPG's Tubereuse around her I'd place bets that she'd get the part. This is one of the most all out feminine, bat your eyelashes fragrances going. But, considering it's not inconsiderable price, let's just cut to the chase...is it worth it considering all the other tuberose options? I think so. It's a richly textured, slightly creamy, yet very pure tuberose scent in the end with a touch of jasmine and a very soft, musky base. It's not got the extremely creamy, almost gourmand quality of L'Artisan's Tubereuse. SL's Tubereuse Criminelle has an interesting menthol edge which MPG's Tubereuse is lacking. Jo Malone's Tuberose is on the flat side and lacks dimensionality - good for layering, but not much else. SMN's Tuberosa is less green, is less complex and has a powdery feel to it that MPG's does not. Laura Tonatto's Osa has citrus and pepper to differentiate it from other tuberose scents, including MPG's. IPdF's Tuberosa d' Autunno is darker, has a rubbery quality to it and a somewhat harsh feel. Rosine's Mea Culpa is lighter, has a slightly soapy dry down, which MPG definitely does not, and is more of a bouquet of white roses, jasmine and tuberose. Fracas lives in it's own high pitched, extremely heady diva world. Creed's Tuberose Indiana has honeysuckle notes, more amber and is less green. Caron's Tubereuse is lighter and more delicate. Miller Harris' Noix de Tubereuse is as much about rich figs and other florals as it is about tuberose. MPG's Tubereuse is unique. And well worth it.

The nonpareil of occlusive tuberose scents, so thick it pours. So thick and clouded that the opening is almost appalling. A quick shock when it is investigated; this is distinctly unfamiliar if one is used to the simple and predictable and timeworn. Perhaps even distasteful, with a ghee-like note swimming beneath the fatty solids above. On paper these phases delight in taking 12 hours to subside; on the skin it is a quicker process, leaving a dramatic, supple tuberose that surprisingly has a spicy tease underneath the flesh, which is almost rubbery as to feel the need to peel. It will ruin you for other tuberose scents, cause dismay and alarm before amour, and attempt to suffocate you, but you will breathe and feel humidly langorous.

When I first tried this fragrance, I was sure I didn't like it. There was no sweetness, it wasn't flowery, it smelled like rubber bands and plastic. I forgot to wash it off though and proceeded to take the dog for a walk. It was a warm, humid evening in June. As I was chugging along I became aware of this soft, floral scent almost swirling around me. I looked around for the flowers that it must have been coming from and realized that it was the MPG Tubereuse! It smelled so real! I could detect the petals, stems, the entire flower. Even though the opening is a bit strange to me, this truly is a realistic Tubereuse. It smells better on me when the weather is warmer and the heat brings out the sultriness of the Tubereuse flower.

Am quite struck by this tuberose soliflore. Rich and robust, the intermittent tang of the green notes tickles one's nose, mimicking the sensation of real tuberose growing in the wild. Like L'Artisan Tubereuse, the velvety petals are creamy, but a bit more milky than buttery. Above all, whether you're a tuberose fan or not, the way this white floral manifests on skin is distinctive and unforgettable.

Gorgeous rendition of tuberose. (Caveat: I've only smelled tuberose fragrances, not the real thing). Starts off slightly green to temper the lush, buttery quality of the flower, then dries down to a soft, elegant white floral fragrance. It's not as heavy on the butter as L'artisan's version, and it's fresher and less cloying than Fracas (which I also enjoy, for certain occasions). A memorable experience on the skin. If I were a white floral diva, I'd certainly consider shelling out the big bucks for this one.

A beautiful tuberose, true, waxy and sweet; however, it does not outshine my favorite, L'artisan's Tubereuse. L'artisan is a buttery sweet flower, while MPG is more undestated and the lasting power is not great.
It starts off green and weedy, but the drydown is a wonderful tuberose scent that never turns plastic or headache-inducing as Pilar and Lucy or the sour Fracas does, and stays true to the flower, light and beautiful.

Green, creamy and meaty tuberose! LOVE it! But I'm a gardenia lover, and a magnolia lover, and I get along fine with most jasmines, so tuberose is just another thick rich floral I love to wear. It's not for those who want a thin airy floral. This one is substantial and longer lasting than some *tubereuse* frags.

OK ladies, suppose you're like me. Suppose your fragrance wardrobe includes Tubereuse Criminelle, Tubereuse Indiana, Mea Culpa, the grandma of 'em all, Fracas, and samples of several others with strong tuberose notes, such as Datura Noir and Fleurs d'Osmanthus. Why in the name of the credit-card gods would you want another one?
Well, let me put it this way. Chocolate is always some combination of cocoa, sugar and some kind of emulsifying agent, so why would you want to taste every kind you come across? Champagne is always grapes, ice cream is always sugar and ...
OK, enough rationalizing. This was in my goody bag from a recent fragrance board get-together and it's wonderful. It does indeed have a creaminess combined with a bit of stem ... very very close to the way fresh-cut tuberose smelled the one time I have encountered them, in Mexico City. It is light and lovely and on me, it stays close to the skin. The one bumblebee in the flower for me is the faint-dead-away price. But it is distinctive, it is beautiful and it must be experienced by anyone who loves tuberose. I will enjoy my sample to the last little drop and burn the price bridge when I come to it.

Something about this triggers a gag reflex for me. It smells nice at first sniff, and then some other pungent note hits the back of my throat. Yuck. Thank God I didn't waste $150.00 on this stuff.

I received this sample from Aedes, after determining that Tuberose is a scent that works well with me. Wow, I put this on today (it's kind of rainy out) and I am having trouble concentrating at work! This scent is sending me to someplace lush and steamy. Definitely not an every day perfume, but absolutely evening out, vacation... Sultry and sexy. I love it. Price is a drawback, but I'm sure an opportunity will come up in the near future where I need to treat myself ;-)
