Pro: Great protection, not greasy or irritating.
Cons: The finish. Nice and matte, with either white streaks or balls/flakes to complete the look. It is a truly maddening experience to try to apply this liberally, which is a must in my book for any sunscreen. I have tried it over all manner of bare or moisturized skin, and have concluded that this is like bad housepaint or cheap nailpolish....something in the formula makes it stick more to itself than the surface it is applied on. The only time it works is when I apply it sparingly and only 1 layer....which of course gives shoddy sun protection and defeats the purpose of the product.

I got the new 2007 version, which contains Tinosorb S and M. I had high hopes for this sunscreen coz there were many raves on the skincare board, but I found the finish to be similar to the other Avene sunscreens. It feels thick when first applied, and my skin felt suffocated. There is a slight white caste which disappears quickly, but the most intolerant part is the fragrance. My face looked slightly shiny right after I applies, and my mu looked thick and ashy on top. My pores also looked huge and the sunscreen as well as my mu settled into my pores. I guess I will only use this when I don't need to look good or wear mu, will not purchase again even though the protection is excellent.

One of the best sunscreens for face I have ever used. Very good mineral protection (Titanium dioxide, Zinc oxide), no irritation or breakouts, extremely nice wear, with no grease or white cast. Pleasant, very light scent. Nice moisture and 'feel' on the skin. A relatively good deal compared to Avene's other skin products. This was only about 12€ for a 50mL tube.
Avene = no animal testing
