Mom's, this product is A-#1 for Eczema. My child was diagnosed at 18 months and now at almost-4 yo, it remains the ONLY wash I will use and we tried them ALL. There is absolutely no fragrance whatsoever and is extremely moisturizing. It feels more like a lotion than a wash; it doesn't sud and bubble like your typical shampoo or wash so be weary of using too much. I use it on my child's hair and then let it drip down to wash the body and rinse clean. My only negative is the small size of the bottle for the price but the quality of the product IS worth it.
I have had near to perfect skin my entire life. I thought that I had dodged the acne bullet (so to speak) in high school and had nothing to worry about for the rest of my life. Little did I know that my skin had a different plan for me and at the age of 26, in the summer of this year I broke out horribly.
It happened gradually - a couple of pimples on one side of my cheek, then my jaw and mouth area, then the other side. Within a couple of months my face (except for forehead) was covered in whiteheads, many of them which turned into painful cysts that I could not help but to pick. This left scarring and blemishes which I could never seem to get rid of. It was like my skin was going through a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde metamorphosis. One week my skin would be super oily and covered in huge pimples, then the next it would be super dry and sensitive. I was convinced I was experiencing some sort of allergic reaction or skin disease (dramatic I know) but all my dermatologist had to say about that was "sorry honey, it just looks like adult acne". I still refused to believe that such a phenomenon was possible.
I have tried everything: over the counter, prescription, cheap ,no name, expensive and brand names; Aveeno adult products, Vichy, Biotherm, Clean and Clear, St. Ives, Spectro Jel, Differin prescription cream, Proactiv, Neutrogena...nothing helped long-term. Some products made my skin worse while others helped but in the end I always ended up where I had started: with ACNE.
6 months later, feeling completely hopeless, I bought this product after reading the reviews on here. I figured that if it was gentle enough for a baby's bottom it certainly wasn't going to make anything worse.
I have been using it for a week:
- I mix it in with St. Ives Apricot Scrub in the evening, in the morning I use it alone
- I apply Polysporin on zits that have dried out
- I apply Clean and Clear Popped Pimple Paste to areas where I feel something may be happening
- I complete with Aveeno Baby Moisture Cream
I am not kidding, and if it was ME reading this review, I probably wouldn't believe it either, but my skin is almost clear. It has only been a week but my skin tone has completely changed, my skin is so smooth, the bumps on my face have disappeared significantly, and any lingering problems I had I can tell are going away and healing. When I use this, I feel like my face is CLEAN and it removes the urge to scrub and over-wash incessantly (which causes more acne). Just make sure you use a moisturizer afterwards.
I wasted hundreds of dollars for something that was right there in the drugstore. This product saved my life. That's it, that's all.

This review is actually for the Aveeno Baby Cleansing Therapy Moisturizing Wash. I couldn't find a match to link it too. I believe it's almost the same as the Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash. Although the ingredients are different it :Water, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Capric/Caprylic Triglyceride, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Sodium Chloride, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Laureth 2, Citric Acid, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar Gum), Ceramide NP, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Panthenol, Sodium Benzoate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride. I was looking for something that would moisturize my skin since the Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleansing Bar was drying out my face badly. This does not break me out and hydrates but, it does have a slight smell but goes way after you wash it off. It does not lather very much if that's what you're looking for. I found it at Walmart for less than $6. I would repurchase.
I read the raving reviews for this product and ran out to buy it. I was looking for an extra gentle cleanser for my face because i feel that spectro jel as much as i love it, does not rinse clean. I use retin A and exfoliate often, i dont want a cleanser to strip my skin as well, especially with the cold air coming our way. Anyway, i cant say this is the best cleanser at all! the first time i put it on my skin it burned! and then rinsing it off it felt slimey. So i will stick to using this for my body. And it wasnt cheap, I paid $8. I know im so cheap but a good cleanser shouldnt cost more. I always precleanse anyway with my jojoba and then cleanse with my normal cleanser. Aveeno was way too harsh.
PROS: Quite moisturizing. Unscented. Gentle. As a BODY WASH, removes antiperspirant or sunscreen well. Very mild scent that is pleasant.
CONS: If you're looking for suds, there are very few.
ALTERNATES: This would be a good dupe for Bath & Body Works' True Blue Lay it on Thick shower cream, but without the heavenly smell.

I bought this as a more affordable (and readily available) alternative to Paula's Choice Skin Recovery cleanser and because I was still on the hunt for that perfect body wash. To begin, I typically steer clear of fragranced skin care products, but appreciate the faint almond/vanilla scent of this. While another reviewer stated that this is identical to Paula's cleanser, I have to (unfortunately) disagree. Unlike P.C.'s, this leaves no lingering moisture-in fact, it leaves the skin "squeaky" clean. A feeling that I associate with stripped skin-not to mention, my dehydrated facial skin needs all the help it can get in the moisture department. Also, I find that it doesn't remove makeup well. I think that this might be due to the lack of oils. At any rate, my waterproof mascara gets smeared around, but remains intact. As far as facial wash, I'm definitely not sold and it definitely doesn't stand up to Paula's. Now, as a body wash I'm much more pleased. While not HG status, it's pleasant enough to use and will most likely be repurchasing for that reason.
UPDATE 12/18/10: I purchased this again (for body washing) and ended up using it on my face as I had just run out of facial cleanser. Within two days I was sporting a full-blown breakout (and even had a zit on my neck where I had also used this). It was as though I had revisited the terrible hormonal acne years. I'm not taking off a lippie, as this isn't meant to be used on the face-I just wanted to share this with those who are acne-prone. If you are, I would stay away from using this on your face.

I first tried this product as a facial cleanser as cheaper alternative to Philosophy's Purity Made Simple cleanser, which was perfect but too damn expensive for what it was, a gentle cleanser that thoroughly cleanses and removes makeup without completely drying out my skin or leaving any obvious residue like so many other gentle cleansers. For reference I have normal skin, with occasional hormonal acne and occasional dryness in the wintertime. Because of the water quality where I live, my skin gets very dry around my mouth and on my cheeks when i use stronger cleansers, so much so that plain unscented lotion burns those areas when I apply it. The Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash completely resolved the dryness issues I was having and allowed my skin to heal itself, and it has never caused me to breakout. It has no detectable scent, and you need very little product to produce a lovely rich lather. Price wise it is about $5 for an 8 fl.oz. bottle, which is a total bargain considering that Philosophy's Purity Made Simple sells for $20 for the same size. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has dry skin that is acne prone or to anyone who is looking for a gentle cleanser that wont dry their skin out but will cleanse thoroughly and remove makeup effectively at the same time.

Just finished off a bottle of this (it lasted about 4 months), I was using it as my daily facial cleanser. Removes makeup effectively and is quite soothing and moisturising. I am wondering though if it maybe leaves a slight residue on skin causing clogged pores. I plan to take a break from it and try Aveeno's new Calming Cream Cleanser and see if there is any improvement, if not I will likely repurchase. I am on a never ending quest to figure out what's clogging my dry sensitive skin.

I am in love. I have pretty normal skin, but just easily dried out by cleansers. I used to use Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo, but strayed from it because it wasn't any better than facial cleansers. They ALL stripped my face dry. Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, mark., St. Ives, the list goes on. And half of them didn't even remove all my makeup.
Smell: This is supposed to be fragrance-free, but I detect a slight oatmeal or almond scent, which is fine with me.
Price: $6 for a big bottle. Total deal.
Packaging: Nothing unusual here.
Performance: Lathers well, and you don't a big gob. Rinses clean, and removes ALL my makeup. Seriously, NO dry patches of skin anywhere! Not even on my cheeks, where I always have dry patches after washing.
Go buy this. I will repurchase forever.
UPDATE: This eventually dried my skin out, though not nearly as much as any other cleanser I've used. I would have kept with it anyway if I hadn't started wearing makeup this couldn't remove. So now I'm testing Albolene to remove makeup, and LOVE Aveeno Ultra-Calming Moisturizing Cream Cleanser for use with my Clarisonic Mia.

I live in Colorado, and it is extremely dry in winter. I learned about Aveeno products shortly after moving here and not being able to find anything that would help my very dry skin. This year, for some reason, the Aveeno body wash wasn't really doing the job. I saw some reviews for the baby care Aveeno, and decided to try it. It works fabulously! It is so soothing and gentle. My skin feels soft and moisturized. It is definitely an HG cleanser. I don't have the dry, red skin that is typical in CO winters when I use this. I would highly recommend this, even if you don't live in a dry climate. It would be great for dry skin in any climate and is readily available in grocery stores and reasonably priced. Overall, a great product and bargain.
