This smells more perfumey and powdery than lilac-y, in my opinion. I adore lilacs and actually tried to cover up this scent when I tested it (it was too late to wash it off before work!). It's just missing the fresh quality of lilacs on the bush. The real flowers somehow manage to be potent but not heavy, and this scent verges more on the heavy side. Luckily the staying power wasn't strong, so it wore off quickly.
