I am very happy with my skin routine right now , but it was getting harder to find my HG moisturiser (Johnson's Triple action Daycream )
So when I saw this at a discount store , I picked it up immediately to spare my daily cream a little bit and use this under MU ..
I 've combo skin , this was much more "less" hydrating for me , but it was quickly & easily absorbed so it made an excellent MU base , either than that , I won't use it as a moisturiser , because it's not moisturising enough for me at all ! This is weird since this the (Normal to Dry skin ) formula and it's supposed to be thicker or richer which isn't true ..As a reviewer here noted , I think it is that silicone craze ..so , it's an okay product for the price...
Update : I think I didn't get an "original" Olay prtoduct ..This cream turned so drying and made most foundations on it look patchy & weird ..I won't take lippies as I think Iwas cheated :{..but I don't know about the genuine ... continued >>

This moisturizer works very well. My skin has become less dry since I started using it. My only complaint is that when I put it on my skin, my skin feels oily.

Not good for me. It's way too light, not moisturizing at all. Since I have pretty dry skin, this does nothing for me. I had to use another cream on top of this every day that I used it.

I wanted something very basic with a little SPF for hanging around the house. Now, I realize that sounds insane, BUT I have been doing 18% TCA peels and I work from home near a very large pair of sliding glass doors. I don't think the average person needs SPF at home, but in this case I need at least a little. I save my Avene SPF 50 Emulsion for days I'm actually going out, so this product helps me save money. I'm combination leaning towards the dry side, so this is nice for me in the winter. I may not love it during a humid Southern summer, but we will see. It sinks in and feels quite nice. I don't mind the fragrance at all, after all the other products I use are Regenerist and BOY do those products have fragrance. Anyway, this is not going to protect that well if you're in direct sun for a prolonged period of time, but it should be fine for incidental exposure. Very basic moisturizer and a great price. I got it on sale at CVS for $4. Not bad.

I've noticed my face has been red since using this cream, like I spent a little too much time out in the sun. It has a very heavy, cloying fragrance. This cream really is for dry skin, it is very thick and heavy, I don't know why it is labeled for "normal" skin. It has the ability to clog pores once in a while. It does provide decent moisture and the "barrier" type feeling which is nice in winter, but all in all a poor choice for daily use.

Olay complete spf15 - Normal skin. 2oz jar, around $5-7

I have combination skin, oily T zone that is sensitive and clogs/breaks out from some products. I am still on the search for the right daily moisturizer with SPF and still haven’t found it. I found the one I was currently using just was making me way to oily and was looking for something lighter. This did turn out to be lighter and it doesn’t make me as shiny, but I still felt oily mid day, even with oil absorbing powder.

This only has SPF15, which in my opinion, is not enough. I do get a lot of contact with the sun walking around on campus and hanging out outside with the kiddos I work with and I really prefer a minimum of SPF30+. 15 is ok if it’s just incidental sun exposure but not enough it you’re actually going to be outside for a little bit. I believe it is also a chemical/synthetic sunscreen, as apposed to physical. That is a matter of personal preference, but I thought I prefer something like Zinc Oxide, I have no concerns using them. I looked the sunscreen active on beautypedia, and this does provide both UVA and UVB protection

In terms of moisture, it is pretty basic. Nothing fancy about this, no exciting ingredients, it’s not going to do much to improve the quality of you skin, but if you really do have normal skin, then this might be enough for you. I am happy to say that it doesn’t break me out or clog my pores and it seems to give me a nice glowy/dewy finish on it’s own. It doesn’t burn my eyes, but I find I do have to layer it a bit around my eyes to get them hydrated enough.

It does have scent, which is not ideal in skincare, but it doesn’t bother me. I actually like the smell. I find it comforting. It doesn’t seem to last after applying, either.

It’s jar packaging is less then ideal, but I use it only right after showering with clean hands, so I’m not so bothered by it like others are. They recently redesigned them, and they are much nicer looking then they used to be. The plastic is thick and sturdy, I think it would travel well.

I have to give this some credit though - its better then some other DS daily moisturizers Ive used. There are so man DS moisturizers with unreliable SPF rendering them rather useless (ahem... Im talking to you Garnier) so I almost feel bad for only giving it a 3... I really want to give it a 3.5.... because I reserve 4s for products that I really like, because a perfect 5 is something extra special IMO...

In all, this is an OK product. It is usable, and I was able to get through the jar without too many complaints, but it just doesn’t do enough for me. It really is pretty unexciting compared the their Regenersit line, which I would argues is much more “complete” then this so called “complete” line. It served it’s purpose and is a fine inexpensive moisturizer for light days. Next time I think I will spend a little more and get something that has more beneficial ingredients and higher SPF, but there’s really nothing bad about it either. I can seem myself continuing to use this on days when I might just be outside to run errands for a little bit and don’t need anything to fancy. Since I tend to like hopped up more expensive moisturizers I may repurchase this to stretch my dollar a bit.

I don't know if it is the silicones or what, but this sweats and slops off my face, even in cold weather. I can't even assume the sunscreen works because the minute I put it on it starts beading and sweating off. Back in the 90s I used the old version of this and it was HG, this was before the silicones.
I'm tired of people demonizing petroleum products when dimethicone is just as bad for the environment. At least vaseline doesn't slop off on me like dimethicone does.
If for whatever reason this doesn't slop off on you, the silicones mean it can work under makeup.

I've been using this on and off for about a week because after starting I saw new breakouts which I attributed to this.
But I'm giving it another try.
Pros:
-the texture of the cream is really nice, just a little dab spreads nicely over a wide area, like maybe a small dot can do a cheek or forehead.
-the smell is ok, not very sweet and perfumed, just a nice light smell with a hint of the regular sunscreen scent
-I bought the jar which I have no problems with dipping my fingers in, but those who can may use a Q-tip or cotton pad to take out what they need. I like jars so that I can use it to the very end, rather than pumps or bottles where you can never really use all.

Cons:
-may cause breakouts (will update)
-does not give a matte finish but I have acne, oily skin & I'm using the formula targeted to 'normal' skin so I'm not sure if the 'oily/combination' formula is better in this regard.

Update
-I've switched to the 'Sensitive' formula which I think is working out better. continued >>
