This Gly-Sal 10-2 cleanser is great! I don’t really have acne, but I have always had horribly congested pores and I have tried at least 20 different cleansers and this is the only one that has worked at clearing up this particular problem. My pores look smaller because they aren’t clogged up with oil and dead skin cells and I have way fewer blackheads, even on stubborn areas like my nose, after only a couple weeks of use. This stuff is also fairly gentle, unlike many of the cleansers I have tried. My skin is prone to drying out easily even though it is oily. This one does dry me out a TINY bit, but it is nothing that isn’t fixed when I follow up my cleansing with a light hydrating serum which is my normal practice. I don’t think it is the higher concentration of acids because my skin is used to acid products, but maybe if I started out with the 5-2 version first it wouldn’t have dried me out at all. I also noticed that when I just used a smaller amount of product I had less drying…which is great because it is more economical to use less. Speaking of, the price can’t be beat. I order mine through Skinstore.com when they have their 20% off everything sale. I will definitely stick with this cleanser.
EDIT: after a couple weeks the dryness got worse and worse and my skin was left flaky and tight and itchy. This cleanser is definately too harsh and it isn't the acids in it because i was using products with the same concentrations of acids. I blame the foaming agents...this product made tons of lather even using the tiniest drop and i know the more a product lathers the more it is likely to strip your skin. I have jettisoned this product to try Renee Rouleau's AHA/BHA cleansing gel...it looks to be a less chemical-y version of the same time of thing.

I went to the dermatologist for my acne the other day and she had me purchase this cleanser. I'm turning 30 and my skin is worse than when I was 15! I have occasional breakouts and small bumps on my skin that aren't quite acne (I think they're called comedones) and make my skin look uneven. This cleanser is really cheap and is fantastic! It been gentle enough to use twice a day and my skin has become completely smooth and clear. It contains both glycolic and salacylic acids, which makes it stronger than the Paula's Choice that I used to use, but because you wash it off it doesn't seem as harsh or drying.
