A bit overpriced for what you get, and it smells like medicine. It feels strange when you put it on, almost a little powdery, your hands would go back the way it was unless you keep putting it on almost obsessively. I wash my hands a lot, so my hands would get really dry and flaky. It gets to the point where I get rashes and small cracks that eventually get bigger, and this worsens in winter. I'm almost afraid to use it because of how it smells and feels on my hands. I've tried other creams that do better, and smell better than this for a cheaper price.

I am very divided on this product. It has some good points, but it also has some bad ones. The smell is horrible. It is very medicinal and unlike others, I do not think it wears off quickly. This does moisturize, but I feel it only does a half good job. I still find myself having to use it day after day with only a little relief. I have extremely dry hands. I wash my hands a lot and they are always chapped and red. So this makes a small dent The price is steep. I personally feel the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula does a better job at moisturizing and at a smaller price. And the biggest complaint is the packaging. This does not come close to letting you squeeze out all the product. I will probably buy this again, but only if it was on sale because to me it is not worth the full price.

For general hand moisturizing - I wouldn't recommend this. It's not meant to be an every day hand cream.
That aside - I swear by this stuff. In the winter months my hands (specifically around the knuckles) take a beating (I hate wearing gloves! lol) and become scaly and cracked and can at times even bleed. My boyfriend is a mechanic. My hands get bad in the winter - his get truly horrendous. C.O. Bigelow Chapped Hands Remedy is a staple for us. We both see massive improvements the next day after applying a good amount to our hands at night. After two nights - we're almost completely healed up. This is the only thing that works effectively and quickly. Yes, it smells very medicinal at first, but the scent fades. Yes, it can be thick and greasy to some - but I bet you are just looking for hand cream and not trying to repair truly chapped and cracked hands. The only minor drawback to me is the price - it's a little steep at $14 for 1.7 oz., but this past winter BBW had buy 2 get one free, so that lessened the pain in the wallet a bit.

This is my favorite winter hand remedy. It does smell a bit like a cough drop at first but that goes away as soon as it sinks in. The main ingredient is glycerin which is key to getting chapped skin to go away. It's thick without being greasy. I watch for BBW sales to buy it because it's regular price is $14 for 1.7 oz.

I don't understand why this isn't rated higher. This is the only thing that works to keep my hands free of redness and itchiness when they are stripped of moisture from too much hand-washing. My hands will be red and inflamed and I put this on before bed and they are totally transformed in the morning. I have tried so many other hand creams and this is the ONLY ONE that works like that. If you have truly chapped hands, run out and buy this!

This smells horrendous IMO! Sort of like a bad copy of Vicks. Making a mint flavoured hand cream is such a terrible idea. It reminds me those times when I have to lie down all day when I'm sick. And the texture is weird. If you apply too much it'll never soak in and you'll end up with white hands. Good thing I only tried a sample.

I love love love this hand lotion! I have very dry hands and cuticles all the time and this lotion has worked wonders for me! I disagree with the reviewer who didn't like the smell; I think it has a mild and clean smell, not overpowering. But smell is in the nose of the beholder. Anyway, if you use this lotion every day you will see a HUGE improvement in your hands. My almost 45 year old dry hands look like 25 year old, well hydrated hands and they stay soft between applications! It is a bit pricey, $14 for a 1.7 oz tube, but well worth it, I have 2. One for my purse and one for my bathroom because I CAN'T be without it!! Try it.

This hand cream absorbs into your skin extremely fast and isn't greasy. I have noticed a considerable difference in the condition of my hands. LOVE IT

C.O. Bigelow's Chapped Hand Remedy works extremely well, but the smell is one of the most hideous as I've ever smelled. I received a sample along with my recent bathandbodyworks.com order. It says it's "The Ultimate Medicated Skin Protectant for All-Year Use -- Glycerin 40.5%". I have to agree -- it worked wonders on my very dry, winter-abused hands. However, the scent was so nauseating could not leave it on and had to wash it off. But still, for the short time I had it on, it worked well. If only the makers of this item would make an unscented version, this stuff would be a hit! As for this current version, I am deducting 3 lippies for the smell.
