Update....I have been using this now for almost a year and still love it. I have found in winter months I use moisture surge intense at night and during warmer months I use this day and night, plus I switch between the redness protector and city block.....love them all, just need to make changes from time to time, not a problem. I have the best skin I have had in years.
Gives lots of moisture without upsetting my very sensitive skin.
I think the quality of my skin has gotten a lot better since I've started using this.
One of the best moisturisers I've ever tried.
I have bad eczema and combination skin. Used a jar of it and didn't really notice a difference. Makes me breakout and feels sort of greasy. Although it is nice to have around for the Canadian winters.
I purchased this a few weeks ago out of desperation during a rosacea flare and have been thrilled with the results. Luckily I don't so much gets break outs when I flare but I do get the redness/flushing/irritation. What caused it this time? I suspect Elta MD Clear UV SPF 46 as it was the only new product I was using at the time.
Anyways. I went to Dillards to buy another TTDO Balm and the SA suggested I try this to help calm my flare. I had tried it years aho when it first came out and didn't remember being blown away but decided to revisit it since nothing else was helping. I hate jar packaging! All of these good antioxidants are just becoming less effective each time I open the jar and it drives me crazy. The SA did suggest using a Q-Tip instead of my fingers which never occurred to me to do.
This cream is so soothing and rich but not greasy. It wears nicely under makeup or sunscreen or both. I'm pretty dry skinned and suspect this might be a tad heavy for a rosacean with oily skin but for this Goldilocks, it's just right. :)
I love this moisturizer! My face and chest was having this weird red and skin colored rash all over it. I had tried everything. I finally decided to go Clinique and see if they could help me. I had not used Clinique since high school but I am now sold for life. The beauty consultant told me she told I had rosasea . This is one of the products she recommended to me. After I take a shower the redness is really bad. I can put this on my face and chest and within minutes the redness is gone. I am extremely sensitive and this has not broken me out. Will continue to buy!

I have rosacea and for a few years have only been able to use Neutrogena sensitive skin moisturizer. All other moisturizers make me break out or gave me milia. For some reason my skin started to get super splotchy and the moisturizer no longer soothed my skin as it once did. So despite the price I picked this up and was so pleasantly surprised at how it soothed the redness on my face almost instantly, kept me hydrated, and didnt cause breakouts! I will definitely continue using this. It is totally worth the price I paid!

The redness reduction isn't very obvious when this is first applied and I feel like this is too oily to be doing any good for my skin. Not worth the price.

I feel like Clinique gets a bad rap around here, and I'm not sure what the problem is: bad advice from untrained SAs, people misunderstanding the products, or I'm just lucky.
Anyhow, I bought this on a whim, as I was buying a metric sh*tton of products in the months leading up to my elopement (horrible idea, I know).
Here are the bads:
- the smell. I think another reviewer mentioned that this smells like cucumbers or the spa or something, but it's far too synthetic smelling. It's not godawful, but it IS unpleasant. Fortunately the smell fades quickly.
- the jar. I generally don't like jars, not because of the germ aspect, but because I can't guarantee I use the same amount of product each time. I like the precision of a pump.
Here are the goods:
- it doesn't break me out.
- it actually soothes the redness and splotchiness in my skin.
- it gives my combo/oily but winter-dehydrated skin some balanced moisture.
- it lasts a while, about three and a half months.
If you have bad rosacea, this isn't going to change your life -- though if you have bad rosacea then you probably already know that no product is going to make all the redness go away.
If you have dry (not just dehydrated) skin, this probably won't be enough moisture for you.
But if you have combo/oily skin with redness (either from harsh products like AHAs or retinols or just general splotchiness, both of which are applicable in my situation), this is a fine choice. I will probably repurchase.
I recently bought the redness solutions cleanser and asked for a sample to try of the daily relief cream. I've used this cream for a couple of days now on my combination and redness prone skin, and whilst it doesnt make my skin red at all (I suffer from reactive redness rather than persistant) my face feels tight and dehydrated when I have this cream on. My face is fine without it on, so I know it's this cream and not the possibility that it's my skin that is dry. I am glad I only got a sample! I just hope the cleanser will be ok for me (I have only used that once so far but seemed ok) Get a sample first if you can!
