I give up on all tinted moisturizers...this one gets greasy very fast. I tried a few of her products, and I did not like any of them.

after looking for a good tinted moisturizer i stumbled upon josie maran. I bought the shade 'creme' and at first i loved it, it had a nice finish and looked great. it has a very thick consistancy and is quite oily, i definitely wouldnt recommend this to someone with oily skin! within a few days of wearing it i noticed i have been getting breakouts and congested skin which i dont normally get. i'm disappointed that i spent so much on a tinted moisturizer that i cant wear on a daily basis. if you want to purchase this i HIGHLY recommend sampling it first and trying it out for a few days, dont rush like i did!

I have Josie Maran's argan oil concealer, which I love, so when I started running low on my tinted moisturizer, I decided to try this one out. I wear pure argan oil every day as a moisturizer, so the thickness of this TM is not really an issue for me. I find it easy to blend in. It also provides a bit more coverage than I was expecting, but it's still very natural looking, and like one other reviewer noted, the coverage is enough to hid some minor blemishes. I got this in Butter, the second lightest, and it is a near perfect match. I've never bothered to have my MAC foundation code done by a professional, but it being winter I'm probably an NW25 or so.
I've been wearing this all week, and haven't had any clogging of pores, or any other reactions. My skin is combination, and in winter tends toward dryness, but it isn't particularly sensitive.
I haven't had any issues yet with the product separating in the bottle, but that may change.
Overall, I am very happy with this TM, and would certainly repurchase.

I went to Sephora intending to re-buy LM tinted moisturizer, but decided to give this a test drive. As soon as I squeezed a bit on my hand I had a feeling I would love it. I should be clear that my reasons for loving it are probably the same reasons why others will hate it. My super dry skin absolutely loves the thick consistency. This is a cream, not a lotion, and it works best when you spread it with your fingers rather than a sponge or brush. I use Creme, the lightest shade, and I find it covers quite well. It is not full coverage, but enough so that it covers my ruddiness and evens out my skin tone while looking very natural. I also love the inclusion of argan oil which I think makes my skin glow. Best of all, this does not have the yellow cast that the LM tends have on me, nor does it have the dreaded white sunscreen cast. This will replace my LM on days I'm not looking for full coverage.

During the summer I had issues with this tinted moisturizer feeling heavy on my face because of sweat and excess oil production from my combo/oily skin, in combination with sunscreen and argan oil sitting on top of it. I gave it a break for the rest of the season until my skin started to dry up and tighten as fall/winter approached, so I decided to give this tinted moisturizer another chance. I absolutely LOVED it for winter use!
The texture of the tinted moisturizer is thicker than most typical lotions so this is difficult to spread for an even coverage and the thickness of it the formula can risk cakeyness. To counter this, I apply this in small amounts with my fingers by dotting it on my cheeks, chin, forehead, once under each eye, and whatever I have left is slicked on my T-zone where it's usually most oily. I then swirl the dots into each other thoroughly (you really need to blend), and am able to get evened-out skin.
Although I had to blot my oil during the summer, during the winter I never had to blot and for the first winter in a long time, the skin on my face didn't feel tight and stayed moisturized throughout the day. I used the tinted moisturizer by itself—no primer, and no setting powder. The tinted moisturizer's lasting power isn't great as far as pigmentation, since it's sheer-to-medium coverage and it does fade eventually, but otherwise it is very emollient. Setting powder may help this last longer but again, you risk caking.
I tried this tinted moisturizer in Linen (3) and Butter (2), and found Butter to be a better match for my skin tone (light/medium) and the great thing about it being sheer is that it this shade brightened my skin tone a little bit without looking like a mismatch. Unfortunately, the tinted moisturizers in this range may just work better for light to medium shades, but since they're sheer, I'm sure medium shades will work for deeper skin tones as a brightener as well.
My only problem with this tinted moisturizer as far as packaging goes is that if product leaks outside of the opening of the tube (even if inside the cap), it does harden into a stiff gel that can be peeled off, but if it gets stuck right at the opening of the tube, squeezing the tube may not only pop out the dried moisturizer (what an oxymoron) but it would also squeeze out more excess product (or even oil, if it for any reason separates). Definitely has to be a daily-use product just to keep the tube from clogging!
Other than that, I do recommend the formula for those with dry to normal skin all year long, and possibly for combination/oily skin for winter only. I would however stay away from it if you are acne prone, though, since it does contain an ingredient (wax) that can cause breakouts.

Tinted moisturizers always *seem* like such a good idea. Something light, casual, with enough coverage to hide little imperfection and unify the complexion, yet not so heavy as to feel like "makeup". Unfortunately, they often fall short of expectation and this one especially. I tried it in linen and desert.
Color match in linen is actually a good one for me. Oxidation seems to be minimal.
The thickness of this formulation is actually a plus for me, and expected of something with a high spf.
I applied it and used a powder blush, then set it with Laura Mercier loose powder.
Initially the effect was quite nice, if a bit more "made-up" than I'd expect from a TM. However, within a few hours I started to notice significant pore enlargement, oily patches and areas of my skin looking bumpier than others... Not a good thing. I'm not sure if the argan oil or some other ingredient contributes to this effect, but it's a no-go for me. My bare skin would look better than this. Would not recommend for any complexion.

When I first applied this product, I really loved the creamy thickness and overall coverage. However, after using this for two days, my chin and nose became VERY congested, my nose became covered in whiteheads (hardly ever happens) and my chin had visible whiteheads and pimples. I was very disappointed because I hear about all this goodness that argan oil does. All it did was aggravate my skin (I have been off prescription acne gel for 6 months and had no major problems with just a pimple here and there during my monthly time) and I actually had to go back to my prescription acne treatment gel to clear my skin. If you are oily/combo or have any tendency to break out, I would absolutely skip this. Awful product. Same goes for the JM Matchmaker foundation. Shame, because I really liked these upon application. :( Save your money.

My skin loves this product so so much. The ingredients are nourishing and moisturizing, which I really appreciate. If this is gonna sit on my face all day long it better benefit it.
First, I prime my face with Hourglass primer; while I wait for that to set I shake the bottle of TM then apply to the back of my hand, take a flat top synthetic brush, swirl on top of product to make sure it's mixed well, then I apply to my face in a circular motion to blend. Then I set it with CHANEL Universelle Compacte powder. I'm left with dewy flawless skin all day. Coverage is light to medium depending on how you blend.
Also, sure it seems pricey, but it comes with 1.7 o.z of product. A lot more product than a foundation bottle. I think it's worth every single penny.
I'm NC40-42 and use Linen.

Let me first say, that I have dry, sensitive skin. I take very good care of it and I don't really have a problem with too much pigmentation, redness, or large pores. That being said. I do really like this tinted moisturizer. I was surprised that it came in a color pale enough for me. I only need a bit of coverage since I like a very natural look to my skin and this does the trick great. I use a light layer of this, followed by my concealers (Clinique Airbrush under the eyes and Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage on pigmentation and pimples), Nars Penny Lane Blush on the cheeks, Too Faced Aqua Bunny Bronzer to contour, then set with a loose dusting of Laura Mercier Pressed Mineral Foundation. I found this to be a great combination for my skin. I look glowing, healthy, and most people can't even tell that I'm wearing makeup. While I obviously use a lot of products, this is the one the one I would chose if I had to give one of them up. I also love the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, and I'm not sure if this is going to fully replace it, but it's definitely going to part of my rotation.

I am not a fan of this TM. I have oily skin and found this product much too heavy in texture and felt way too heavy on my skin. Might be better suited for dryer skins. I have much better results using Josie's SPF 40 (HG) under Josie's Matchmaker Foundation. It didn't help that I couldnt get a color match. I'm an NC30 - Light was too light and Medium too dark.

If you have large pores.... step away from this TM! When I applied this to my face, it picked up pores I didn't even know I had. And I refuse to use a primer underneath as I believe that would negate any benefits from using this product, namely the blend of special oils.
Its also super thick for a TM, which may work for some skin types but I find it hard to believe anyone could use enough of this to get the benefit of the added sunscreen without looking cakey. And if I have to apply an additional layer of product, again it negates the idea of an "all in one."
Shame, because I really love the JM Sunscreen, so I wanted to love this as well, but its just not for me.

Not love for me. I haven't noticed the product separating when it comes out of the tube. I am barely squeezing the tube first to try to distribute the oil. I shake it too, but it seems like there's no liquid to shake. So I guess whatever I am doing in that regard is working. The product is thick and creamy. I was hoping it would be more opaque than my prior HG (Jane Iredale Dream Tint). It is. However, when I spread the product using my fingers, it reminds me of oil-based paint that I used to work with in art classes. Creamy with a bit of oil to it. I get gaps in coverage and it seems to highlight any little flake or uneven surface I have on my skin. Yes, my skin is a bit dry, but I think I exfoliate sufficiently except when I use this product. I am keeping the product because I like it for a change from JI DT, and I am determined to figure out how to make this product look as good as possible on my skin. I love using argan oil as a moisturizer, and I like that this TM has SPF30 vs. JI DT having SPF15.

I absolutely LOVE this product!!! This is a MUST for gals with dry-ish skin, as it is full of nurturing oils. I am NC25 and Butter was a perfect match. This is definitely "heavy" for a TM, it's more like a foundation. But it is sooo moisturizing, and has great coverage. It definitely gives me dewy skin -- I never get flakies when wearing this. But I do have to set it with a powder on my forehead or it could look a little oily. Other than that, this is perfection. And this does not oxidize on my skin, as other TM's tend to do. Also this does NOT break out my skin. I sometimes mix this with liquid highlighter and the result is gorgeous! Added benefit that it has SPF 30 -- Highly recommended!!!

I wanted to love this tinted moisturizer, but with such a small range of shades and such a heavy, thick consistency - this was not a winner for me.

I was convinced by the sales rep to buy this moisturizer. He told me it made my skin glow. Well who doesn't wanna hear that? So I bought it. When I got home my skin was so oily. This moisturizer would only be good for dry to very dry skin. I love the shade selections (I'm butter) but it's just too oily. I do love the argan oil in it since argan oil does wonders for the skin and hair, but unfortunatly this also makes your face, you guessed it... Oily. I was really hoping it would work perfectly especially because it was so expensive. Oh well. Good for winter if used sparingly.

Love this product. It combines 2 steps in my routine making my life a lot easier. The color match was perfect for me, I use the 'creme'. I have fair skin. Make sure you really shake the bottle before using it or you might get a strange consistency. A little goes a long way.
EDIT--- not using this any longer. I find that prolonged use of this product severely clogs my pores.

Loving this TM.
Heavier than many, not sure how it will wear for the summer, but during the winter, this imparts dewiness and a beautiful luminosity to my skin.
I am surprised. Wasn't expecting to like this product too much.
After reading reviews on the web, I decided to try yet another TM, and when I received it, I shook it well and played with the tube so as to avoid the oil spill.
I apply with a foundation brush, and it goes on beautifully.
I actually think this is closer to a 4.5 product. I still love my Perricone TM the best, but this is an absolute winner, and much nicer than most of the TM's I've tried. However, the packaging isn't great for the product. You need to smash the product around to mix it, and the tube gets bent up easily.
Otherwise, I am loving it. Nice coverage, beautiful staying power, and superb finish.
For me, a keeper.

I really like this tinted moisturizer. It's more like a foundation than a tinted moisturizer. It has a heavier texture than other tinted moisturizers I have tried. Know that you will have to squeeze the tube a bit to make sure the product mixes well before opening the cap as the oils (argan, jojoba, pomegranate, avacado, flax) in this tend to separate otherwise. (Not a big deal to me to massage/squeeze it a bit.) In addition to these oils, it has a host of other ingredients that are great for the skin (ex. extracts of papaya, rosemary, chamomilla, ginseng, passion fruit. olive fruit and leaf, etc.). It does not contain parabens. It has nice, yet natural looking coverage--covers up acne scars and blemishes well. It has no scent. It does not make my oily skin feel oilier over the course of the day, and the tint has pretty good stay power for a tinted moisturizer. (This is where foundation beats tinted moisturizers though.) I tried LM tinted moisturizer (oil free version) and this beats LM's version hands down. If you're looking for a lighter, more sheer product, this would not be a good choice for you though. If you need a little help covering imprefections, this may be a good option for you. (p.s. I use the butter shade and have light skin.)

I'm in love with this tinted moisturizer. though I don't use it everyday, when I do it makes my skin glow. argan oil is liquid gold.
you definitely have to work with this product. since it contains argan oil you have to shake it before you squeeze it out of the tube. it'll still come out a bit separated, but it's easy to blend. totally worth the work.
the spf of 30 is a plus as well! I highly recommend josie marans tinted moisturizer.
