Not a bad mascara. I had no clumping, smearing or smudging. It gives my lashes a natural look that lasts all day.

I have not used CG mascara in more than 10 years, because it always flaked and irritated my eyes as a teen. I was in CVS when I realized I needed a new mascara and grabbed this from the clearance section. It gives okay volume and didn't flake, but it does not hold curl well. I also had a problem with the brush... it seemed to scratch the rims of my eyes when I got it too close to the base of my lashes. I've used dozens of mascaras and all types of brushes and they have never hurt me like this one. Overall just an okay mascara, nothing I would rebuy.

One of my favorites! It gives a really full, but not unnatural look. No spidery looking lashes with this stuff. Love.

The best mascara ever! Performs better than high end brands like Givenchy , Origins, and other drugstore brands like Loreal Voluminous. You can apply coat after coat without waiting for lashes to dry in between coats. Never clumps, never, smears under eyes or flakes. I do not have sensitive eyes, but other have found that other high and low end formulas cause irritation. Never with Volume Exact. Easy to remove with soap and water. Leaves lashes looking beautifully full and long, yet still natural. My HG mascara. BUT-it has been discontinued! Boo! I am buying as much as I can from eBay sellers.

Why did they have to discontinue this?! I used to use this all the time in Very Black and then I switched to a Revlon mascara that got discontinued. I went back to the Volume Exact and still loved it. I have long lashes, and this really makes them show and adds great volume without being clumpy. It's a bit wet at first but after a few applications I find that it tends to dry out a bit so it is easier to put on and dries quickly. The brush is the perfect size. I don't poke myself in the eye or get mascara in unwanted places on my face like those huge brushes. I am so sad this was replaced with the CoverGirl Lash Perfection. It is not that bad, but not nearly as good as the Volume Exact for building volume. I buy the CoverGirl Lash Perfection now, but use the Volume Exact applicator. I just saved it when I ran out and washed it. If you can still find it somewhere, it's definitely worth stocking up on.

i used to love the maybelline soft and full, but that didnt hold curls as well. i like the natural look and this is perfect. it can be bold if you put lots and lots on but i dont do that. it gives fuller lashes than the maybelline one but not as much length which is great for those who wear glasses. does a good job separating too :)

The greatest mascara ever! Volumizing, lengthening, defining and quick and easy to apply and look great. And I've tried a lot of mascaras- from cheapo (Essence) to expensive (YSL). I have found other mascaras that look pretty good but only after spending a looong time with them trying to separate lashes, etc... So of course it's been discontinued. The new mascara they replaced it with- Lash Perfection- is nowhere near as good. My 2 year hunt after Max Factor Couture was removed from the US now has to begin again after I go thru my back stock. Not fair not fair not fair!

Love the mascara, i already have 2 other back ups because of a sale at rexall. This mascara provides volume in a natural and noticeable way, I have short straight asian eyelashes and I HAVE gotten compliments about my long eye lashes when I use this mascara. You have to know how to use it, this mascara is not good for dramatic looks, there is no way you will be able to achieve it. This is for school and work subtle but noticeable eyelashes.
Would def recommend this buy!

I have this mascara in Brown. It creates great lash definition without "spidereyes", and lasts all day. It doesn't clump, and also looks very natural. Will definitely repurchase!

Thank-you Makeup Alley peeps for recommending this outstanding mascara. I bought it due to all the hype it gets and I am so happy I did. Cover Girl was on sale at Rite Aid so I grabbed the only one left on the rack The store was out of waterproof so I almost passed on this gem. I usually only buy waterpoof due to my oily lids that smear like crazy. I guess it's a good sign that the product is good when the store sells out of it.
I bought this in the non-waterproof formula and I love it. This mascara give good volume with no clumps or flakes. I am using the non-waterproof formula and I have had no problems with smearing.
I will buy this again and again and again.

An exceptional mascara that beats out YSL, Dior, Estee Lauder and Chanel. I trade down on the weekends using drug store mascara and save the good stuff for the week. I don't have to do that anymore because this gem outperforms all of them and at a fabulous price. Volume that DOES NOT CLUMP - I didn't think that was possible. I hardly need to use a lash comb. Fullness that is soft and no flaking. This is the best product in the CG lineup which overtakes the prestige lines.

This is a very natural mascara and also kind of dry, I dont feel like it seperates very well or volumizes or lengthens. It also doesnt hold a curl at all either which I dont like. This just doesnt look like I'm wearing any mascara at all and thats not really what I want. So I wont repurchase this or recommend it unless you like a natural look.

I am in LOVE with this! I've tried other Covergirl mascaras, and I don't think they live up to the hype, but this mascara is wonderful! It gives my lashes length, volume, AND definition! The brush is quite nice; it has regular bristles, not like the Covergirl Lashblast, and it really grabs all your lashes and separates them while coating each one. I haven't experienced any flaking or smudging so far.
The grievance that I could possibly have is that I bought the brown color, and it's darker than I expected, but that's not enough to make me give it a lower rating!

If you have thin, skimpy lashes that will not hold a curl even after fifteen minutes under an eyelash curler, then you need to get this mascara. It simply is the best there is: for thickening, for lengthening, for separating AND for curling and keeping the lashes bent upward. I've tried them all, from $50 mascaras right down to the 99 cent ones. And this Volume Exact is the best because it gives results. If it were $50, I would still buy it because it stands and delivers! For extra lash oomph when going out, I first define the lashes with a coat of Lash Exact, then go over them with the Volume Exact. Afterward, you will look as though you have just applied the most expensive natural looking genuine hair lashes! There's something about the wax content in this mascara that coats the lashes without making them flakey or stiff. The look is so natural, people often comment to me how long and healthy my lashes look - they don't ask what kind of mascara you are wearing. For eight bucks, an astounding product!

It gives great length and definition. The very black is very dramatic. It works great on my lover lashes i would by waterproof since this tends to smug.

I consider this product one of my favorite mascaras (my HG is actually lancome defincils but i can't justify spending that much on a mascara i'd use up in a matter of months). I have very short stumpy asian lashes so i'm very picky about my mascaras. when i look for mascaras, i look for something that holds a curl well, wears well throughout the day and gives a lot of volume and length. and this mascara does a very good job of those things.
for one thing this is one of the better mascaras at fanning out your eye lashes. also i've found that while wearing this mascara, sometimes i don't have to curl my lashes. also it holds up quite well throughout the day and i notice minimal smudging at the end of the day.

I loved Max Factor's Volume Couture mascara, and this is the closest mascara I've found to replace it. This is my everyday mascara. I have long, skinny eyelashes so a good volumizing mascara is a must for me. I find this mascara very easy to build, I don't have problems with it clumping and it wears well for me during the day (no flaking or smudging issues). It's very easy to remove, which is a pleasant surprise given how great it wears for me. I like the longer wand, too. Definitely one of my HG drugstore products now that Volume Couture is gone.

Covergirl do great mascaras. This is my favourite because of the brush. I have tried a few of their newer ones, but always return to this because it does what it says. I like the fact that it does not run, smear or flake. This is an excellent mascara for the price.

This is am okay mascara. I got it as a BOGO with an additional coupon, so I believe I paid about $2 for this. I have it in Black/Brown for a more daytime/natural look and I was very surprised at how it performed. The formula is nice from the getgo--no waiting around for it to thicken up like some mascaras (i'm looking at you L'Oreal Voluminous) and it doesn't flake or smudge or transfer onto my eyelid, but the brush is awful and does nothing for volume. I'm not terribly disappointed with this purchase and I truly think that CoverGirl has some of the best mascara formulations on the market, including high end. But I don't think I'll repurchase this one. I need definite volume and this just doesn't do it for me.

This product is the best mascara I have ever user and! I use a base bare minerals eye lash primer.. then the mascara goes on beautifully. I use about three coats of it and it makes my eye lashes look very black and sooooo full!. I have long eye lashes anyway and this mascara just helped me alot. I would buy again.. And i have... Over and over again. It's not that expensive and sales make it easy to stock up
