Bought this at Ulta after reading reviews and OMG. BEST RED LIPSTICK EVER! As a blue toned Asian, I have problems finding red lipsticks that won't look orangey on me. This makes my teeth look super white and my lips bombshell red. Love it.
Got this in a BOGO dead at CVS and this color is so red!! Better than Mac makeup. It is the perfect red color for fair skin. You should try applying this with a lip brush instead of straight from the stick cause it might get a bit messy.
After reading through the reviews, I find that I am among folks who happily find that Certainly Red certainly is true red.
I had previously gotten another shade of Super Lustrous lipstick line, and was extremely impressed with the quality, though the color I hoped to be red turned out to be more pink (Cherry Blossom). Upon applying Certainly Red, it also looks pink on my lips, but that goes away once the lipstick is more layered on. I posted a pic of me wearing it in a green top, in a natural light.
Certainly Red is a beautiful, bright red color that is juicy and fresh on cool-toned skin. I haven't worn lipstick in several years, particularly red, yet it only took me a day to get used to it, and I get wonderful compliments.
This lipstick has a great pigment, and looks chic as both subdue stain and full-on bold. It is very creamy and moisturizing, and stays on very well with drinking and light kissing. I love it so much, I sometimes will wear it at home...
Overall, I am very happy with this product and would certainly recommend this shade to anyone looking for a fun and classy red lipstick!

11/10/13: I enjoy this red lipstick very, very much, and am using it at least a few times a week. That makes it particularly sad for me to say that, due to my recent discovery of Revlon testing on animals, I will not be repurchasing from them until they move away from such practices. I hope to find a safe alternative that will offer just as nice red lip color!
Certainly Red is great! Flattering and a blue toned red that isn't too cool toned, does not turn fuchsia and isn't too dark or too bright. This color and the sadly discontinued Scarlet Velvet and the Matte one called Really Red are more flattering on me than Love That Red.
But Certainly Red is mostly opaque but could stand to be a bit more opaque though and also it's a bit creamy or shiny as if it would come off in minutes of drinking something. But all in all Certainly Red is pretty on and flattering not neon and weird. I'm an MAC NC45, Bobbi Brown Warm Almond and Fashion Fair Butterscotch.
Wow, this is a beautiful, rich, true red on me. Very classic, great for an otherwise bare face with a bit of eyeliner and mascara. I am on the cool side of neutral, and this does not appear at all pink or fuchsia on me. Very flattering to the skin, and with a smooth texture...I really think the Super Lustorus are some of the best lipsticks on the market. Love it!
Certainly Red is an easy, cheap, and good product to have on hand. The shade, I would say, is quite universally flattering. I have tan-olive skin that tends to look too flashy or just plain wrong with the incorrect shade of red, but me, as well as my fair, pale, cool-toned friend both can wear this lipstick without looking too try-hard. Most of the time, I try to sport just a nice stain with it: a slick of lip balm, then gently pat on some of the colour. The price is fantastic. I would buy an array of colours in bulk and not feel terrible about it. Certainly Red, as well as the other Revlon lipsticks, are great if you want to have a decent lipstick (maybe in a shade you would never spend big bucks on) for an affordable price.
The name says Certainly Red and yes, it certainly is-and it is a bright one. Let me say that I love this lipstick and I love this red! Just not on me. I also agree that many of these Revlon lipsticks are better when applied with a lip brush. This one and "Fire and Ice" are just fabulous, especially for the price. Update-The "Rum Raisin" is so much more flattering on me, and although it is not a standard red-it is so much more the type of red that I look best in, especially at this age & with my coloring & it is in fact, in the reds group in my opinion. So, this one is going back. If I were not on a fixed income-I would keep it and use some other lipstick to change it up, subdue it.
This, is my opinion, is pretty much a dupe for MAC Red, which is one of my favorite red lipsticks! Def a bold, blue based red...creamy finish without being overly glossly. This looks beautiful on full force or blotted down as a stain. This is, again like MAC Red, an in your face red. Very pin up, something you can wear by itself without much make and look polished and put together. May be too bold for someone looking to try red the first time...a sheerer red, like MAC Lady Bug or Revlon Color Burst lip color in Cherry Tart, may be better choices. Also good for first times, a deeper red like Revlon Really Red or Mac Viva Glam 1, red but not in your face. The wear time on this color is good and feels smooth and not overly drying on the lips. If you're looking for a good blue-based brighter red at a cheap price, def give this a try!
I was in the market for a richer red. I bought the Russian Red Matte lipstick from MAC ages ago...which is my favorite...but it's so old now :(. I'll probably make myself sick if I still use it lol. Instead of buying another, I thought I'd try to find a cheaper lipstick but with the same richness.
On a whim I bought this one. It looked like a deeper red. I liked the cool tone and thought this would work out. Not as rich as I had hoped; it still seems a little bright for what I was going for, but I love it nonetheless. It's a creme finish, the pigment is excellent, and so far it's lasted through sipping on my drink today. I'm really happy with the purchase :D.
I bought this on a whim at Ulta. I adore red lipsticks and after looking at all of the options that revlon has to offer I thought Certainly Red would be perfect. It looked like a slightly dark true red, seemed perfect! But when I put it on my lips I was shocked by the pinkness! This shade should be called magenta red or freaking PINK red, but to call it Certainly Red is just deceitful, because it is certainly not red. I really just don't like pink-reds. If you do, that's great, you'll love this lipstick. Heck, that's why I give it a 3. There isn't really anything that bad about it, the formula is always great. But a warning, this isn't anything close to a true red.
